SCARY PLACE! Went with my fiance and when we walked through the door, there were only a couple of lights on near the register. Someone speaking very little English turned on a few more lights and took us to our table all the way in the back. There was nobody else eating at this joint! At this point I was figuring that our food would be poisoned, we'd pass out and wake up in a bathtub full of ice to find that our kidneys had been stolen.

We ordered cheese dip with chorizo, which was greasy but palatable. While we ate this grub, a blonde woman came in and took 2 of the workers with her to a back room without any lights. Uhhh, can we say sketchy? We ordered our entrees which were bland and overloaded with chopped lettuce. The beers were nice and cold though. After picking at our food and wondering how this establishment stayed open with all the lights out and no business, the blonde and 2 workers emerged from the shadows and went outside. Then Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" played over the speakers in Spanish. PRICELESS!

As we walked back to the car, we noticed the same blonde sitting in a pickup truck with a different guy next to her. I guess what happens at Castillo De Oro stays at Castillo De Oro.

The ambience is reminiscent of a slasher flick, food is bad, questionable activities going on but OH it was never boring!

Pros: Beer is cold

Cons: food, ambience, weird vibe overall
