What a disappointment! I spent an entire day with my friend and her little Pekingnese at the hospital and what a horrible decision to go there. Auburn was highly recommended but I am here to tell everyone I know to NEVER use them. Except for the student, the resident was anything but sincere, had no compassion and the Neurologist and Orthopedist never even bothered to talk with us. It was all just "matter of fact" and they blamed the dog's dislocated elbow for their inability to diagnose her. What a joke! After sharing my story with others, which could go on and on, I kept hearing "why didn't you go to Georgia"? Sadly, my friend and I both live in Georgia and had driven 5 hours to spend one miserable day!

I brought my dog into the Small Animal Clinic when his bracitis flaired up and he is a very calm dog, who will sit when asked, and actually behaves very well at the vet's office. A fourth year male student put my dog in a full-nelson (wrestling manuever), frightening my dog, and then slamming him into the hard floor. The attending vet did not seem to see anything wrond with this, drained my dog's elbow, but refused to give him a shor of Cortisone to keep the inflamation down. All he did was put on a pressure bandage (without any waterproof tape), so the dog had it off in under 45 minutes instead of the 72 hours they would have liked it to stay on. The doctors were aware that my dog had aprevious history of this condition and had his medical files, which indicated that Cortisone was the only successgul treatment to keep it down for six months or more.
