We visited LBJ Library and Museum on a spur of the moment. We had heard nothing but how huge and great it was. We were all very excitied to walk into one of in my opionions largest libraries here in Tx. They had different things for all ages. It was of course nice and quiet. The staff was nice, friendly and informative. Thousands upon thousands of books they have. It is a great place to go to on a black cloudy day. We all had a superior time. I would recommend visiting their in summer time, as they have kids events too.

We went here as a family, and were weren't quite sure how the kids would do, but they enjoyed it also,There was something for every age group to see and learn about. They also show his original home where he grew up,and if you get a chance visit the Ladybird wildflower museum as well. Located in Johnson city,at that is a wonderful town to stroll and browse as well. If you go at christmas time the town square is decorated too.

PROS: Everything about it was interesting.
CONS: Couldn't think of any...

If you're a stay at home parent and have run out of free things to do with friends or the kiddos, I suggest making an afternoon trip to the LBJ library. Packed full of presidents and they have different exhibits to check out. I loved the Swinging Sixties! They also have a replica of the oval office at the white house... very interesting!

I chanced upon this while in school. It is a very nice building on the outside and inside. It walks you through LBJ's and the nation's history during his presidency. It explains the different decisions that LBJ made during his presidency and tries to explain his reasoning. Whether you are a fan of LBJ or not, it is a good place to learn about our nation's history during those troubled years.

The LBJ Museum and Library is a great place to go on a rainy afternoon. The biggest perk of this museum is that it is free, so bring the kids and spend the day learning a little bit about our history. This is also a great place to bring the kids if they need a subject for a school paper, it is very informative and fun.
