Ed's Tavern is located five minutes from city center in the heart of Dilworth. Originally a hardware store, built in 1921, Ed's is now Charlotte's favorite place to gather with old friends or to make new ones. Don't know what happened with Bobby T down below but guess no bar is flawless. Ed's Tavern happens to be one of my favorites. Hot girls, great outdoor patio, great pool tables, trivia night's always fun and the service is usually "neighborly" (not a word) When you're tired of the redundant uptown scene where no one knows your name and the prices are jacked through the roof, check out Ed's for a nice change of pace.

I have tried going to Eds tavern several times and every time the service has been horrible. Food took forever to come out, and came out all wrong. In addition, I could not get a beer for the life of me, and when I tried asking for one or getting one from the bartender I got snobby and stuck up attitude. I will NEVER waste my time or money ever again at this bar and I recommend that you never do so either!!!!!

I'm a regular at Ed's and love the wings (calypso is my fav) and the burger are better than anywhere else in Charlotte, I can drink on a budget $1.50 coors light all the time. Also every wed they have 6.50 burger, chips and coors lt what more could you ask for.............

I really enjoy eds. its a cool place tucked away in dilworth. Alot of the bartenders are cool and love to see the regulars. It is reasonably priced food and drink. Always have good specials too

I actually went here to eat moreso than drink but was pleasantly surprised with their food menu. They had a variety and it was higher quality than your average bar food. The beer selection was also good. Parking is kind of tight.

Monday is the tavern's service industry night and fellow foodservice people get HALF OFF food! Not to mention Mondays are the wing night and free pool! Always lots to do at Ed's like cornhole or Sapo. Awesome place to watch football on Saturdays and Sundays! Atmoshpere is super fun and love to take friends that have never been because I know Ed's will be one of their favs too!

One of the best local bars

Love Ed's. I love that I can get a great meal and a good cold beer for a reasonable price. The menus extensive and the variety helps a lot since I go there so often. They have hands down the best burgers and wings in town and I love their side items. I recomend the mac and cheese or their soup du jour. Hmm, making me hungry just writing this review...

The Best Neighborhood Bar!

I never miss to visit Ed's Tavern, whenever I am in Charlotte.
The food is always tasty and fresh, the drinks are generous. Terrific variety of beer on tap.
The servers are friendly and efficient.
Highly recommended.

since most people that live in charlotte are from different parts of the country it's nice to have a local spot that makes ya feel like your at home. Ed's seems to bring something special for everyone no matter where you are from. Good service, comfortable atmosphere, and c'mon have ya been in there, the staff and the crowd is usually pretty good looking. And i would have to say some of the best wings that i have found in the south.

Love this place. Great place to be and hang around....cool bands. great bar and bar food. I go there every 3 tuesday of the month with a bunch of friends we all gert together and owner is very accomodating to our needs and requests.....Cool sports bar. Better since partner left last years....definetelly a place I'll go back again and again....

I thought Ed's was a great relaxing place to hang out after work and have a beer. I had the chili and sweet potato fries and they were great and the portions were large. Service was really great and friendly too.

It's a very fun neighborhood bar. The people that work there are always friendly and it's a great place to meet new people. The food is always great. One of my favorite places in Charlotte.

There Really is a "Cheers"!

This is a place where you'll feel welcome whether you're an actuary or a longshoreman. Everyone at Ed's seems to be having fun. The service is impeccable and the menu extensive. Wings, sliders, wraps and chicken fingers are highly recommended, but leave room for the apple dumplings.

There is always something to do at Ed's - either trivia on wednesday and thursday - tailgate parties on the weekend - hell even Monday night Nacho bar! Can't beat the bartenders and service you receive either!

Holy Hotsauce!

Went to Ed's for a football game on a Thursday and had a great time...pretty good crowd of people. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with hot sauce and D@mn it was spicccy. I was crying, but it was still delicious (too bad I couldn?t taste the last half of the fries b/c they were great, haha). I'm a hot sauce junky and it was a lot for me so be cautious and go with the mild if you?re not into hot foods. Still haven?t tried the burgers yet, but I heard they?re awesome too.
Trying to man up and try the Monster Burger challenge one of these days?we?ll see about that.

Great local tavern that offers really good American food and provides a local "good time" feeling. If you tired of the uptown scene I suggest checking out Ed's. Trivia nights are a blast every Wednesday and Thursday and Sunday nights are perfect to watch the games and hangout at an inexpensive quality bar. Check it out, it won't disappoint, there are few places like this in Charlotte!

Good Neighborhood Place

Came here on a Saturday night to watch UFC. Place was pretty crowded mostly a mid 20's crowd, lot of generic blond girls. 2 pool tables, video games, and reasonable prices, especially $1.50 Coors Light drafts. Bar staff is attentive and attractive. They have several tv's unfortunately most of them were on Nascar. This is essentially a neighborhood bar as it is not near any other places but good to stop in and stay for a while.
