I enjoy every visit to Osaka. It's right next to Outback, so the parking can be atrocious, but the atmosphere and menu are just fabulous. The owners are very pleasant and provide great customer service. If they don't have a roll on the menu, they are always willing to make something different if you ask. I have never had an unpleasant experience, and the food is fabulous.

PROS: Great food, great service, decent price
CONS: Sucky parking

This is not a high end sushi bar such as Nakto in Atlanta, GA. However, they are by far the best choice for fresh sushi in Columbus and with out a doubt one of the best values in the state.

Although some selections are exceptional, the menu itself does not offer as wide of selection of rolls and authentic Japanese dishes as some Atlanta-based resturants we have visited. However, the grill portion of the menu does offer some of the best and most creative non-sushi dishes we have found anywhere.

The owner keeps the bar stocked with a decent variety of fish and appears to rotate stock often. My wife and I have never been dissapointed.

The atmosphere is excellent and suitable for a date or the entire family.

PROS: Truely exceptional grill items, Quality sushi at an unusually good price
CONS: Not as large of selection of rolls and traditional Japanese dishes

As a long-time sushi lover, I was worried I wouldn't find good sushi in Columbus, Georgia. Maybe you can still do better in Atlanta or NYC, but Osaka does a really nice job and is definitely the best of the sushi places in Columbus. I've been there many times and am always satisfied. The owners seem like lovely people--not sure what the previous poster is complaining about.

PROS: best sushi in town, pleasant but informal atmosphere
CONS: closed on sunday

Being a Californian who has also lived in Hawaii and traveled to Japan, I find the sushi at Osaka to be predictably disappointing. It just didn't taste like the sushi I'm accustomed to. The staff wasn't particularly pleasant which made it only easier to focus on the disappointing meal. It's not the worse sushi I've encountered here since moving to the south...but it certainly wasn't the best either.

PROS: good location
CONS: disappointing food
