Marukai 98 cents Plus Store

I loved this store. It sold groceries, accessories, house supplies and imports from Japan for only 98 cents. However, the prices were raised up and the items that I thought should be 98 cents were not. The store isn't crowded but attracts a lot of people. Its very nice minus the idea that we have to bag our own items.

I still recommend it .

This 98 cents store sells items imported from Japan. The items here are pretty high quality compared to other discount stores. However, not everything is 98 cents. The store is pretty large and spacious. Here you can find novelty items and cute trinklets. They sell Japanese inspired items along with American inspired things.

Marukai is the best I've seen of the discount stores. I love the 99 cents only stores, but Marukai has a beautiful array of Asian pottery, wood, dishes, and sculpture that can be had for $1-2. Their gift bags and cards are really lovely as well, and every time I go, I stock up--they look much more upscale than what you'd normally find at a discount store. I also enjoy playing the fun game of "What do you think this kitchen gadget does?" because so many of the labels are in Japanese.

I LOVE THEIR PRICES, AND I UNDERSTAND WHY THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE NOT VERY FRIENDLY : CULTURE ISSUE
AND I DONT MIND WITH THAT THEIR MERCHANDISE IS SO NICE AND SO MUCH VARIETY TO CHOOSE FROM IF YOU GOT ONLY TEN BUCKS IN YOUR POCKET THATS A PLACE TO HEAD FOR. even the way they decore ITS NICE SOMETHING LIKE AMERICAN-ORIENTAL STYLE

PROS: EXELENT PRICES(not only 99 cent stuff)and large variety
CONS: THEY CLOSE AT 6 PM AND THATS VERY UNCONVENIENT
