Memorial Sloan-Kettering Thrift Shop

This is the biggest thrift store around! They have a huge variety of stuff. There is always a good about of furniture and clothing. Some of the stuff is really junky, but it's cheap. You never know what they are going to have so you just have to stop in and see. The staff is really helpful and can point you in the right direction if you are looking for something specific.

This thrift shop is run by volunteers to benefit their volunteer work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center which includes patient care, research and education. It is a neat and spacious store, all the clothes are hung up on hangers and they carry many designer labels as well as other clothing and accessories for the whole family as well as jewelry, picture frames, china, furniture and books. If you can wait till they have a sale (50% off on clothing and furniture), you can get a great buy. Recently, I found a designer label 3 piece outfit for a child fin excellent condition for $8!!!

This is a great place to shop. You can find terriffic items at great prices and help out a good cause at the same time. You never know what gems you'll find here - the place is huge and there is so much stuff to look through. It's all arranged very nicely, which is a definite plus when it comes to thrift stores. Maybe not the place to Christmas shop but a good spot to pick up some items for yourself.

Two large floors filled with donated items make this a bargain hunters paradise. Most of the merchandise is junk but some of it is of pretty high caliber. Worth checking out if you like to buy used.
