I went to a number of funerals that were non Jewish and this place seemed to do the best job. They make it feel like a warm place and like they really know the person who died regardless of the situation. They have large rooms for people to pay their respects. I think they have 2 different rooms available at the same time which is something I did not like.

Unfotunately I have been inside the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals many, many times, with some of those times being for close relatives. The staff at this establishment has always been caring and helpful in our time of great distress. There are two viewing rooms on the first level and two on the upper level, and there is an elevator. Upstairs there is also a small room with seats, a water fountain, a television and bathrooms, so that if you need a quiet place away from the crowd, you do not have to go far. There are also a few children's books in this room. The first level has no such room, but there are doors to the outside at either end of the building and there is also a lower level with chairs and a very small children's room, which contains a few toys and books. Hopefully, the need for such services will not arise anytime soon, but this is a funeral home where you will be treated in a respectful and proper way.

PROS: Wonderful staff; well-kept establishment.
CONS: None.
