Madison Square Garden is really amazing. All the seats seemed to have a great, unobstructed view. That's not the case in all arenas like this. I saw the WNBA All-Star Game and it was great. Parking is expensive but still cheaper than train tickets all around if you split it a lot of ways.

I love going to Madison Square Garden with my friends because there's a lot to do there. All types of shows, sporting events (Knicks) - it's in the middle of NYC. The prices are a little high though - most of the time. Also, remember, there's a MSG TV channel! Go here with your family.

PROS: Very fun and a lot of activities
CONS: Somewhat expensive

Madison Square Garden has a world-wide reputation not just as a sports arena, but as one of the most coveted concert venues. Countless rock bands talk about how they've always dreamt of performing there. I can't imagine why.

I've never been there for sporting events, so to be fair, the place might be fabulous for that. But it's definitely not built for music. The only places from where you can enjoy a concert are the first few rows of the floor and the two lower side levels directly flanking the stage. If you're anywhere else, you're screwed to various degrees.

Further to the back of the floor (which is completely flat, with no sloping of the seats) you can only see the stage if you're 6 or more feet tall. Shorties like me have no chance of seeing anything. This matters not to the box office, which charges the same exorbitant prices for the floor whether it's in the front or in the back of it.

The further you get from the stage on the sides the worst the view gets, and the worst the sound gets. By the middle of the venue, and especially in the back directly across from the stage, the echo gets so terrible that you hear everything twice. And now you can't see anything either.

If your favorite band is playing there, you have little choice but to go see them at the Garden. But don't expect a unique, intimate - or even passably enjoyable - experience. The only thing a concert at the Garden is good for is boasting later that you went.

PROS: Some of the best bands play there
CONS: Terrible sound, terrible view, terrible prices

Despite it's epic proportions, it is hard to get lost in here because of the endless staff on hand. Plenty of refreshments and clean bathrooms and seating.

Madison Square garden is noted for being the home of the Knicks but there is so many more events that go on throughout the year..We've been to some outstanding musical concerts and have taken the fascinating tour which takes you to the behind the scenes areas including the teams locker rooms and one of the luxury suites high above it all...The tour takes about an hour and a must see for any and all sports enthusiasts

PROS: Perfect for any sports fan
CONS: none

Madison Square Garden is the best place to go to see concerts in Manhattan! I saw Prince, Madonna, and Sarah McLachlan here. It gets crowded, but it is kept very clean and everything from food to restrooms is very accessible. trains, buses are close by for transportation.

PROS: Excellent place to see concerts!
