Beware Scam Artists and Liars at German Independent  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Lied to my face about work being done on the car. Over charged. Charged for work they did not do. Lied to my face. Arrogant and seedy. Total scam. Keep away!

Great experience all around. Friendly accurate and great location between home and work! Brought my my Audi S6 there for service it was done by the end of the day and they even ordered me the custom rims I've been thinking about, for a great price! Would surely say this is the place to go!

Don't believe the hype 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I took my '02 Boxster to G.I. in July to do a post-purchase inspection. After purchasing the vehicle, I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel at 75 mph, and the ABS indicator light came on. I told G.I. about these issues. They had the car for 3 hours. I came back and they said nothing was wrong with the vehicle, that it was "clean." And the ABS light? And the vibration? They said nothing was wrong with it, but that I had a leak at the valve cover gasket, which they would fix for some exorbitant price. They didn't offer to do anything else. I paid for the inspection and left. Well, come to find that the balance and alignment were off. And, according to someone who has been working on Porsches for a very long time said, the Boxster doesn't have a valve cover gasket, but silicone, which will leak over time because the gasoline slowly breaks down the silicone. Maybe this is just semantics, but I don't feel that G.I was very up front with me about the car, and I'm not confident they know much about Porsches, or at least Boxsters. If you've got a Boxster, go some place else.

BEST BMW & GERMAN CAR SERVICE IN L.A. 5 Star Rating - World class

I have a BMW 330i that was leajing oil from the oil pan gasket. Rene and his team put the car on lift and figured out within half an hour that not just the pan gasket was leaking, but another part as well. In order to do the job 100% correct they recommended to make that repair as well. They called me and discussed all the details with me and I always knew that they are honest and straight forward with their recommendations. Many mechanics try to take advantage of the situation, not so Rene and his team. Peace of mind all the way! Plus Rene and his guys are absolutely nice guys who know their stuff inside and out! The BEST BMW and German car service in L.A. by far. I highly recommend you see Rene and his team!

Pros: Thumbs UP!!

Simply Awesome! 5 Star Rating - World class

Just picked up my Cayman S. Wow! Awesome job!
There was some front end body damage that needed roughly a week to fix. I usually go to the Porsche Dealer but not anymore. They had the rental car company literally waiting to pick me up, they are basically 2/3rd's the price of a dealer and their service is warm, personable, efficient and quick. They called me a day before their ETA. When I picked up the car the quality of workmanship was better than I expected it. to be. Awesome job Rene and Matt. See you soon...No scratch that, hopefully not. Anyway from now on bringing all my cars and highly recommending them to all. Cheers!

Pros: High Quality, Excellent service, Quick and Efficient
Cons: None

Honest and Discerning Mechanics 5 Star Rating - World class

Time came for routine maintenance on my 2005 German Automobile.

A different garage's mechanics hadn't reset the diagnostic computer

so several indicator lights remained lit. Maintenance seemed a good

time to have those checked as well.

During the phone call making the appointment Rene spoke in a

professional and friendly manner.

Arriving first thing the next day to the busy garage good attitudes

remained consistent.

Having processed the car into the garage's possession, I returned

to my place of work.

Two hours later, Rene called in a patient voice to inform me that

unfortunately my transmission had malfunctioned requiring new,

very expensive parts - so expensive garaging or selling the car

seemed wise. I resigned my self to pick up the car. Rene informed

me of his decision not to charge for the diagnostic work.

Despite the bad luck it was refreshing German Independent did

not go ahead and do the minor work on a car that might be

inoperable.

Ten minutes later, on my way out the door Rene called. Through

his contacts he managed to arrange to have the car repaired

FOR FREE at a different, more specialized shop.

Without reservations German Independent will be my first choice

for future automotive work and I'd strongly recommend the garage

on the merits of their good judgment.

Pros: Shop staff
Cons: None

Imressing performance 5 Star Rating - World class

I called in the morning for getting my Cayenne serviced and brake pads changed. Dropped it at 4 pm. Since I was a first time customer I was little doubtful when Rene told me I could pick up the car at 9 pm same day.
In addition to the service I got a fancy Blutooth hands free system installed. Showed up at 9. Everything was done and working. Great service. Sharp, precise, reliable and extremly friendly. Needless to say where my car will be serviced in future.
