Time came for routine maintenance on my 2005 German Automobile.
A different garage's mechanics hadn't reset the diagnostic computer
so several indicator lights remained lit. Maintenance seemed a good
time to have those checked as well.
During the phone call making the appointment Rene spoke in a
professional and friendly manner.
Arriving first thing the next day to the busy garage good attitudes
remained consistent.
Having processed the car into the garage's possession, I returned
to my place of work.
Two hours later, Rene called in a patient voice to inform me that
unfortunately my transmission had malfunctioned requiring new,
very expensive parts - so expensive garaging or selling the car
seemed wise. I resigned my self to pick up the car. Rene informed
me of his decision not to charge for the diagnostic work.
Despite the bad luck it was refreshing German Independent did
not go ahead and do the minor work on a car that might be
inoperable.
Ten minutes later, on my way out the door Rene called. Through
his contacts he managed to arrange to have the car repaired
FOR FREE at a different, more specialized shop.
Without reservations German Independent will be my first choice
for future automotive work and I'd strongly recommend the garage
on the merits of their good judgment.
Pros: Shop staff
