This place is simply the best Club in NY! I've been to almost every gym in the city as a trainer and as a potential client, and this one has them all beat. The size alone is remarkable- you never have to wait for equipment, and there are HUNDREDs of pieces of strength and cardio (almost all with private tv's) and the class schedule has almost 200 options PER WEEK! Nothing else compares. Best value for what you get in NY!

Reebok Sports Club is the best gym I have ever been to. It's vey spacious for a NYC gym with 6 stories. They have many classes, but I think there are a couple of things that really makes this gym stick out.
1. 40 foot rock climbing wall. This is only open certain hours, but it's a great workout that doesn't seem like a workout
2. Outdoor track. Run around the outdoor track 6 times and it's a mile. It's made of that squisy tire stuff that all nice tracks are made of
Other items to note are the multiple full size basketball courts, celebrity sightings (my friend who used to work there saw Will Smith and Sarah Jessica Parker), rooftop deck for sun bathing, lots of classes, individual TVs on most of the machines.

The main downfall is the cost! I was told that it would be about $185/month to join after a $500-$600 membership and that was with the corporate discount!!

PROS: Wonderful facilities
CONS: Extremely expensive

I've been working out here for ten years now and it's still the best workout on the upper west side. Six stories high, outdoor track, large lap pool, day care, cafe and restaurant, luxe shower and sauna area, and TVs at almost every piece of equipment. The only downside may be the price, less than your rent but more than a parking space so it may not be worth it unless you're dedicated to exercising every day.

Reebok sports club ny is a very luxurious place to spend your workout sessions after work or early in the morning. Though the place can get pretty crowded, do not fear because there will always be enough machines for you to use. They offer tons of options in membership deals.

Probably the best in New York, at least the best I've ever been to the Reebok Sports Club New York is a class operation. Everything is clean, spacious and wonderful. The towels are soft and the staff is great. I once worked out next to Tyra Banks and have worked out near many sports celebrities. Not that that should matter but if it does and you can afford it, it's expensive give it a look.

PROS: wonderful facility
CONS: very expensive

If you're in the range of $100-$200 per month, I would take the reebok club over most places, esp if you live on the UES. The facilities have everything, rock climbing wall, track, etc. and you don't have the crazy traffic that is associated with the smaller clubs. The guys here are attractive and everyone is fairly wealth, i.e. a good crowd if you're a single lady. If you're not on the UES, it's tough to get to enough to feel good about the cost.

PROS: Best Facilities, Great Staff, Great Locker Rooms
CONS: Expensive, no downtown locations.

Reebock Sports club puts NYSC and Equinox to shame. It has an outdoor track, steam and sauna rooms and first class machines, trainers, and perks you just can't beat. Of course you will pay an arm and a leg but hey if you got it, flaunt it.

This is really a mediocre gym at best. It's no longer run by Sports Club LA, and has been downhill ever since. The gym has old equipment and decor for sometime and slow to update them. You just feel current management really does not care about the place very nickel and dime. The equipment is always dirty and so are the showers. In 2011 the classes have been cut back and many of the great instructors have left. If you do personal training forget about it. It has taken me a while to find a trainer that really met my fitness goals. If your a serious athlete most trainers here will not cut it. What customer service, there is none. This gym runs on the reputation it developed when under Sports Cub LA and no longer deserves.

I've been a RSCNY member for almost 10 years now and still can't understand why the complaining reviews still think there is anywhere better! Being in the fitness industry for almost 20 years has me trying out every gym, health Club and sports facility in the city and although some are nice, none ever really measure up to Reebok Sports Club. There are simply more options in a much bigger space than anywhere else. The Equinox member posts are kinda funny- they are getting one-fifth of the size Club at only $20 cheaper! Last time I was at Equinox I had to wait for a treadmill and hated working out underground. I've known so many Reebok members that used to be Equinox members because they upgraded. The only Equinox members I know that used to be Reebok members were ones that decided that a health club wasn't that important to them and downgraded to a smaller club because they hardly use it anyway and would rather save $20!

Well, just by the appearance the first day that I went as a visitor made me want to joint the club immediately.

If it was possible to give zero stars, it would be more than the Reebok deserves. Apart from the moldy showers and tattered carpets, the management from the top down is shockingly homophobic. I had a very unpleasant experience, and you will too unless you are heterosexual with a holier-than-thou attitude. Reebok should be ashamed to have their brand associated with this joint.

Equinox is a far superior and costs less. Even the Westside YMCA is cleaner and has friendlier staff and clientele.

Avoid this gym!

All the way up the the managers. Supposed managers. One day its he, no she, no one seems to really manage this place. Thats the problem. There are things going on in the mens steam and sauna, and the womens sauna and steam is loaded in unclean old feeling of no one cares anymore. This place used to feel fun, happy, and I loved going. Now its gloom and doom. No one has manners, professionalism, and the place feels old. It is not sanitary. Im going to Equinox now where it is spotless and you can feel it. They are cleaning constantly in there, and they are having fun 'WITH' the customers, not looking atthem like "what?" Too bad reebok was known as the best in its kind. THEY NEED NEW MANAGEMENT. There are a few male managers, who look like they want to drop kick you .

I did a temporary membership to try this gym out and see if it was worth $200 a month . The gym is ok - the equipment is pretty dated, the locker rooms are nice, having a pool is great. However, I left something at the gym and just called Lost & Found and can't get over the rudeness of the person I talked to. She would ask me a question, then put me on hold without even responding to me. The kicker was that when I told her I was pretty sure I left it there, she didn't say a word back. And then I said "thanks" and she just hung up the phone without even saying goodbye or anything in return. I was completely nice the entire conversation, it was so weird that she was so rude.

I joined the club after reading rave reviews. 75% of the initiation fee was waved through a promo so it was compelling for me to try. I am deeply disappointed with the gym. The classes are good and numerous, but they are not excellent. I agree with the reviewer who said that the showers are old and filthy. Accommodating and friendly staff? I have yet to see that. Snobbish yoga instructors who help only those they want to. The yoga is done extremely fast regardless of who can catch up. This is NOT the way to do yoga. I learned all types of yoga for one year in India, and the key is to do it slowly and give time to do each pose correctly for maximum impact. I was shocked to see how fast one yoga instructor was with poses - not good at all.

I got two sessions with a private instructor. They made it seem like they looked at my profile and matched me with the right instructor. I think the instructor they assigned to me did not have as many clients because he was new to NY, and so I was another potential client. The guy would not stop talking about how he trained beautiful people in Hollywood and so would train me to fitness. I barely did any workout with him.

When you spend $$$$ you expect convenience. Nothing is convenient about the gym. The big bucks are for the classes which you can find in any other gym. The lockers are tiny, and if you want to leave anything permanently, you have to pay $800 per year for a VERY tiny locker. Honestly I expected them to provide permanent lockers at least so that you don't have to carry a big bag around.

The $$$$ I spent are not worth it, but I am locked in due to the high initiation fee. I hope to get my money's worth by working out everyday. Unless you are living in the area, I highly suggest taking your money elsewhere.

I joined this place exclusively for its yoga program and the new mind-body studio. Unfortunately, after being a member for one year, I decided to cancel my membership due to the poorly managed yoga program. It is clear that only certain instructors are being favored and they only listen to certain type of members. The classes have no spiritual element and most classes are taught by instructors who only care about how beautiful they look doing the poses and don't even bother correcting the people in class. When I spoke to the yoga program coordinator, all she had to say was that I probably was in the wrong place, that Reebok is a health club and not a yoga studio. She is probably right - don't join if what you are looking for are high-quality yoga classes!

I have been a guest at this club multiple times and after my recent last visit I found out it is nothing like what it used to be several years ago! Yes, they still greet you with a smile every time, but that doesn't make up for the fact that the facility is falling apart - you can tell by the poor condition of the equipment used in the classes (I took a step class and almost fell because the steps are worn out and don't stay put on the floor anymore!) The bathrooms look and smell like those in a bad-neighborhood public high school - splashed with water all over the sink, un-flushed, stinky toilets and no toilet paper. At well over $200/month and the outrageous $1000+ initiation fee, you expect the "five-star" service they claim to provide, yet, what you get is well below what you expect. It's a shame that what used be the best club in NYC has now turned into an old, filthy club that is poorly maintained and falling apart, but the price remains just as expensive. If you are thinking about joining, I suggest you shop around other clubs first - there are newer, cleaner clubs in the surrounding areas that don't charge as much and provide a real first-quality service and facility.

I just want everyone who likes 5 star service to know that it still exists on the Upper West Side. I just moved from Florida and have recently joined the Reebok Sports Club in NY. It is AMAZING! From the greeting smiles to the personal attention, I find that each visit is like a little hotel stay!

The club is so abuzz with life, and there's never a wait for machines and equipment. I love that!! Also, I think there's like 100 exercise classes to choose from!

The best part of the club to me is that by the end of my first week there, staff members were calling me by my first name. I think that speaks volumes for this place...

I joined Reebok since i have some friends there, and heard all about the new Mind Body and Yoga Center. The club is beautiful and the machines and trainers are great, but the Center is amazing. The classes are challenging and the staff there are just so warm, friendly and accomodating. There are not enough great things i can say, its not just a gym it really is like a 5 star hotel

I just completed a week trial membership extended to me by Lori Crosby at Reebok and was blown away. Very spacious and the facility exceeded my expectations, i never had to wait for a machine and it was cleaner than any other place I've been to. The hospitality the staff extended to me was very impressive, because of this alone i highly recommend Reebok Sports Club/NY...it's the reason i will be joining.

I recently got to work out at this club after not being here for a few years. There have been several changes since I was last here such as the Mind Body Studios and new machines/carpeting, etc. The Mind Body Studios are definitely a great addition to this beautiful gym where you feel like you're vacationing rather than working out. If you don't like to sweat, this is the place for you as you can people watch for hours or sit at the cafe. And if you do like to sweat, then there are tons of options. Great classes (of every kind) and all machines one might expect. Fabulous group exercise instructors and private trainers (if you'd rather be on your own). I took yoga and a spin class. Awesome! I can't wait to go back!

I've been a member at several top gyms in Manhattan. Reebok Sports is by far my favorite. Working out with their trainers put me in the best shape of my life and the facility is a always a pleasure to go to at the end of a long day. I'm pretty picky and this is one of the only public spaces I would ever shower in. The pool is also a major boon and I've used it frequently. I highly recommend.

The Reebok Sports Club NY is still one of the best health clubs in the city. I joined recently, and despite some of the negative reviews (which, if you pay close attention, appear to have been written by the same person), I found the place met and even exceeded my expectations.
This is the most pleasant place in which I have worked out in quite a while. There are wide open spaces, large windows with views of the city and the staff keeps everything clean and tidy. The equipment is new and in excellent condition, group activities are numerous and varied, and the management has clearly set high standards in selecting only the best personal trainers.
The locker rooms are spacious and clean and, more important, there is enough equipment to insure no wait even during peak hours and on the weekend.

I disagree with some previous comments about the Reebok Sports Club. The gym has currently updated all it's machines and has personal TVs on almost all workout machines, which really makes the time go by fast when your running on a treadmill. The gym is clean, never crowded, and has a very relaxed feel to it. It has an outdoor track, sundeck, spa and if you are into playing on leagues such as basketball or indoor soccer this is the gym for you. Overall, I feel happy everytime I enter the Reebok gym and although it is pricey - It is worth ever dollar.

I joined Reebok to stay fit during my pregnancy. Jason K. was recommended as a trainer who specialized in pre-natal fitness. As a result of our work together, I had an easier pregnancy and lost all the weight within three weeks of giving birth. I would highly recommend Jason as a motivational and knowledgable personal trainer.
