We enjoyed seeing movies here when we lived in Skokie. It's pretty easy to find, and parking is not hard most of the time. The theater was a little small, and the sound system is not the latest, but the prices make it worth your while to head over here.

If you go to a movie at the historic Pickwick Theatre, you are in for a treat. The building was built in the late 20's and is now fighting for historic landmark status. It is one of those old fashioned theatres that holds over a thousand people. OK, the ceiling is sort of falling in, and the screen is a little dark, but the experience of seeing a movie for $4.00 with a thousand other people is terrific.

I love this theatre because it is located in pretty Park Ridge. The theatre itself is pretty old and does not boast all the modern trappings of a Loews or other theatres, but it has so many other bonuses. Big screen in historic theatre shows movies at discounted price. Building also has some live entertainment - musicals, plays, etc. The prices to see a movie here are really cheap! They have lots or parking spaces. You are almost guaranteed a seat at this theatre because of its large seating capacity. This theatre is worth attending!

PROS: Cheap prices and lots of seating
CONS: Old theatre

To say that this infamous landmark is glorious would be an understatement. This beautiful theater in Park Ridge will take you back to the glory days of movie viewing. And with over 1,000 seats, you don't have to worry about scrambling to get a chair for the next (and last?!) Star Wars flick. This used to be a 2nd run theater, but now you can catch Hollywood's latest and finest for as low as $4! (You heard me, $4). Plenty of parking and popcorn waiting for you and they will even let you carry in your Starbucks coffee to enjoy during the movie. (No need to hide it under your sweater J)

PROS: Beautiful, historic, convenient to transporation, lots of parking
CONS:

The bargain matinees here are what it's all about. The movies aren't quite second-run, but they're just not the freshest -- stopping here maybe 2-3 weeks after being at the bigger spots. The theaters in the back are particularly smallish

It is a great art deco style theater for theatre 1. Theatres 2-4 are in a building to the right of the main theatre and through a walkway about halfway down the block. Theatres 2 and 3 are small seating and 4 is upstairs and medium seating.
