This is the second time I've used Holmes Body Shop. They are fast and do quality work. They always kept me informed of what was happening with my car and got it back to me in a timely manner. I will use them in the future. The staff is always helpful which is also very important to me.

I was very pleased with the service, the repair and courtesy of the individuals with whom I came in contact. I hope I never have to use them again but should something happen, I'd go back.

I had work done in the Pasadena shop. While the actual repair work was good, the customer service was far below expectation. For a relatively minor repair, the work took way too long. What is even more concerning is that the customer service representative was arrogant and non responsive. He did not follow through on many promises. I have had work done here before and have recommended the place to friends, but certainly not after this experience.

Recently my car needed repair to the front and rear bumpers, and the hatchback door and Holmes Body Shop in Canoga Park not only gave me my car back in perfect condition with all painted areas matching perfectly, but clean and when promised. I would definitely go back to them again.

Holmes made it easy. My Toyota looks like before the accident. Cleaner even. I was expecting the body shop process to be a hassel, so I was really delighted when the opposite came true. Not only does my car look great, but the process was really easy and the people there are really nice. My insurance paid so I can't comment on the pricing, but I find it extremly helpful that I can make $50 payment a month on my deductible. I would recommend Holmes for sure.

Just got our car back from an insurance repair. I've had two other cars in for repair (on three occasions). Excellent service. The adjusters know their business. They keep you up to date on the status with email. Repairs have always been near perfect. One downside is they need to take their time to do the repair correctly. I don't mind the extra time but this isn't the place to go for a quick repair. This is the place to go for quality.

I drive a new 750Li BMW that I damaged on a curb. Holmes repaired the car 100% like new. Very professional. I am a perfectly happy customer and will definitely support them if I ever need them again.

I am very unhappy with my experiance with Holms Body Shop
in Westlake Ca.

I recently went to get an estimate on my Car.
I was given an estimate for $ 721.94
When I picked the car up the cost was $ 1,247.42

Had I known of this increase I would not of proceed.
Although my insurance covered the cost of the repairs. this increase may cause me problems in the long run.

A nice place no one wants have to go to . I can't understand some of the other reviews. I was treated with care at Holmes Body Shop and I really appreciate that. As a plus the building is really beautiful. It doesn't look like it would be a body shop. I was refered to Holmes by my insurance company (AAA). My rep was Matt. He is a very nice and caring man. He seem like he really cared about how I was after my accident. That was important to me. AAA paid for the repair so I didn't care how much is cost. I read that they are not the least expensive, but they are the best. You get what you pay for (or what your insurance company pays for). My car came out great and it was right on time.

The things I like about Holmes Body Shop in Pasadena:

- They keep in constant contact with you and give you up-to-date status reports on the progress of your vehicle. Very informative!
- The convenience of an Enterprise Rental Car kiosk in their building. Very easy!
- The friendly, professional, and efficient way they handled my two issues I had when I picked up my vehicle, which were:

1) I got my vehicle back with an empty gas tank. I brought to their attention that I did not bring in my vehicle with an empty gas tank. They, in turn, gave me a $20 gas card for reimbursement.
2) I got my vehicle back with my left rear window not working. I had to bring my vehicle back, so they could check it out for me. They found out that the wiring was somehow loose, and they fixed it for me in about 20 minutes.

I admit, it was a bit of a hassle to bring back my car to get the above two problems fixed, BUT when I did bring it back to them, they were very efficient in fixing the problems and very courteous to me... SO for that extra effort on their 2nd try (which should have been on their 1st try, but nobody's perfect), I gave them an extra star for "A-OK."

From start to finish it was as good as it could be (I did just have an accident after all). I got a call from a gal there about 10 minutes after I filed my claim with the insurance co. she arranged everything for me. My car was ready two days early and looks beautiful. thank you Holmes Body Shop!

I had a mixed experience with Holmes. I had over $12,000 in repair work done to my vehicle. In spite of this the customer service representative was abrasive and rude. The actual repair work (body work) was done and satisfactory. I ran into problems when there was some new damage caused by Holmes Body Shop to the interior of my vehicle. I wasn't too upset just as long as it got repaired, but my customer service representative became accusatory and continually proclaimed it was "old damage" in spite of the fact my vehicle was a newer vehicle and any wear and tear was meticulously documented before the repair. Another problem was that the detailing shop actually put new scratches, some rather deep, into the new paint job which had just been completed on my vehicle. Some of the scratches were in places that were previously undamaged and away from any of the body work. At that point I didn't feel my vehicle was safe under Holmes Body Shop care any longer and just wanted my vehicle back. So in summary you may consider using them if you want a quick cheap fix but if you have a newer vehicle, want quality work, with accountability and good customer service you would do much better with one of the many other shops. I have since made arrangements with another shop to have the damage done by Holmes Body Shop repaired.

Follow-up
It's been a few years since I had this repair done and wanted to write a quick follow up. The overall body work has held up nicely. Again where I think Holmes falls short is in the details. The weather stripping the put on had a lose clip which over time fell off and the weather stripping now has a gap in the side window. The striping around the back window peeled away over time. Probably the most visible sloppiness now is on the front bumper. There was a deep scratch after the repair work was completed. Instead of prepping, fixing, and painting the area correctly, they just painted over it really quickly with final coat or something. Immediately after the repair work was done I could see the difference in shine between this area and the rest of the bumper, but I just didn't want to deal with Holmes any more so lived with it. Over the last few years that quick coat used to cover the scratch has been flaking off. That part of the bumper sort of looks like a mess now. There are flakes of paint peeling off.

I'd still give Holmes a 2 star rating but I don't know how much of my experience was due to the shop or to the customer service rep I had. He was pretty slick car sales man type and only seemed worried about getting my car out of there. I don't remember his name but if you get a taller dirty blond haired customer service rep who likes to talk about Hawaii and how he likes to get drunk.... I'd ask for another rep. I should have.

One other interesting point was I recently read another review about damage that happened to someones interior and how they were told it was a manufacture defect. I totally related to their story having been told the new interior damage to my vehicle caused by Holmes was preexisting. It sounds like this was not a one off and occurs from time to time at Holmes. I would highly suggest taking dated pictures as backup to prove new damage if it occurs.

PROS: The actual body work was good
CONS: Damaged my vehicle, Customer service representative was horrible, repair details didn't hold up over time

Holmes looks like a nice place to go and has a nice waiting room but you are a dollar sign to them and so is your car. I was quoted nearly DOUBLE for a very minor bumper repair - like $800 instead of the $425 I went with at an already not cheap establishement. They tried to get $300 more out of me to pound out a tiny tiny dent to the under frame which would have totaled $1100 to basically just repaint a bumper. I had the place I went with just paint the slight frame dent to protect it and even they only wanted about $90 in labor to pound it out.
The Honda dealer recommends Holmes to customers who inquire - kick back?

PROS: looks nice.
CONS: costs ugly.

I have brought my car to get it fix twice. The reason I used them is because they have good relationship with my Northern Triple AAA insurance policy. Well, their recieptionists are nice and polite, explain all the paperworks you need to sign with them. I did not think the waiting time for the repair work was too long , but I have to admit I do have to call them from time to time to check on the progress of the repair work, maybe the damage was not too bad. Honestly, I have had worst experience at Marcos Auto Body on North Fair Oaks Ave, I waited for a whole month for the work to be done.( Well, that's another story I will share later on.)

The waiting area is not bad, they have different beverages provided for their customers, sometimes donuts and cookies. A big TV for you to watch while you wait. Enterprise car rental has a little booth inside their office, but sometimes you will have to wait for them to come back , since they do drive their customers to the other main office to pick up the rental car.

Their repair work is decent so far.

PROS: good receiptionist and organized
CONS: need to check on them on their progress

Well the shop itself is beautiful, but service is very slow - I was dropping off my car for service and it took 20 minutes. Our representative was never around and his communication was horrible. One time I called with a question - they paged him and he ran over and yelled the answer in the phone and ran off. They also kept my car about a week longer than they promised, which meant more rental car costs.

They did a great job fixing the car but what a hassle!

Average service - seems like a tidy shop, but the wait was forever and service really officious. As well, the estimate was way off, but we had warning that this might be the case. Good connections with various insurance companies, but this doesn't necessarily lower your costs.

This is the second time I have been to Holmes Body Shop. I was there late last year. It made me feel good that they remembered me from the first time. Just like the first time, Holmes Body Shop took very good care of me. My car looked brand new when they were done. It was as clean as a new car when I picked it up. I think they gave it a detail. The people are very nice. That means a lot to me.

This place USED to be great. I guess they are hiring more and more incompetent people there now. Scratched interior and claimed it was a manufacturer's defect. ??? Took double the time they quoted me. Had to go back because they screwed up the first time. Didn't even give me an estimate on how long they will take and I would have to call everyday to check if it was finished. Now I have to find a new body shop to go to....
