We spent 3 amazing nights ....
The view, customer service, massage and food was like no other,
5 STAR ALL THE WAY....
My mouth dropped when I seen the view off my balcony, the ocean scenery... wow!
The element of surprise !
my husband took me outside my box ,once again...
I just love me some James

I've only had lunch here, so I cannot speak to the entire hotel experience. However, as far as lunch goes, it was the most overpriced, poor tasting meal I've had in a restaurant. I thought it was a joke when they brought one small piece of fish with no extras and it was all watery and salty, and charged $25 for it. My friend ordered crab patties and got two the size of a silver dollar. Period. Same price. Rip! They force you to park Valet, and you pay $10 just to do that, and we had to wait and wait to have our car pulled up because of the back log. Wouldn't go there again. Nice view, though.

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Well...you ARE payin a steep price for Half Moon Bay so I expected service at that level. The two golf courses are beyong NICE!! Im not a crazy golfer so I enjoyed the scene more than anything. I LOVED eating in the Lounge there because of the beauty of the room,it overlooks the ocean. The wine bar was excellent. Chocolate selections were interesting and different from other wine bars. Fortunately,I was able to experience this place when the weather was not so gloomy and windy. I hear that's rare.

We've been to brunch here a few times, mostly for their Easter themed brunch and have a great time. It is the best brunch in the Bay Area, with a great selection! During Easter they have an even more expensive brunch (if that was possible) including an Easter egg hunt for the kids, handmade chocolates, a petting zoo, and a crafts room for the kids, and of course the Easter Bunny! It is a great place to go for brunch!

We had a wonderful peaceful holiday at the Ritz-Carlton HMB. The afternoon tea was splendid as well. $300 a night is indeed a big money. I'd like to drive by and enjoy only the afternoon tea in the near future.

For the sake of full disclosure, I feel compelled to mention that my one and only stay at the Ritz in Half Moon Bay was on someone else's tab and I realize it's easy to be impressed with a hotel when it is free. Still, my wife and I really enjoyed our weekend stay at this particular Ritz.

All of the accomodations were top-notch, but I figure that goes without saying. Likewise, the service was truly exceptional. Most employees addressed us by name, and everyone went the extra mile to make sure we felt well taken care of.

What really makes this hotel special in my view, however, are the grounds and the bagpiper. The resort sits on the lush rolling hills of a beautiful golf course overlooking jagged cliffs with a gorgeous view of the Pacific (visable from most rooms). When the fog rolls in, and the bagpiper begins to play (around dusk) you'd swear that you were in Scotland.

PROS: accomodations, service, grounds, view, and bagpiper
CONS: it's expensive, but fair considering what you get

It is a Ritz-Carlton, so no need to mention how great the hotel is since each night will cost you $250 at least (promotion price). Of course the view is out of ordinary.
If you like the view, but you could not afford $ 300 a night, you could just drive by and have an afternoon tea there. But valet parking only.

You'll drop a pretty penny, but it will be worth it. First, the location is magnificant and you'll enjoy the view from the room. Then, the room is so comfortably furnished and inviting that you're torn between going out and staying in. I couldn't get my wife out of the bathroom, where she found all the amenities she desired. These folks know they cost an arm, a leg, and a foot -- and they deliver service fit for a king. A great splurge!
