big penny has been there for as long as I can remember.. and what a great way to get your car washed and have some fun since it is a stay in the car and get washed place. You have to vaccum your own car but the fun of going thru the car wash and seeing the suds and all... my kids absolutely love it!

Big Penny is a great place to get your car wash. They provide free vacuuming but it's self serve so you have to vacuum your car yourself. The basic car wash is about $6 and your car is spotless because after you come out of the car wash, there are two men stationed there to wipe your car dry.

Drive up to the first station, grab a vacume and vacume the inside of your car. Dump the trash--large receptables provided. Get in line and pay and drive around to where the car wash guy hooks up your car. Make sure your windows are "rolled up", sit back and enjoy the show! Pretend you're in an old Doris Day movie or the gone-but-not-forgotton Monsanto ride at Disneyland!
Of course, the best way to enjoy a drive-thru car wash is to take a little kid with you. They love to help and know how to appreciate these things. Once the show is over the car wash guys dry down the car. There's extra towels available if you want to pull over to the side and do it yourself.
I'm not an expert on car washes. They all seem to do a good job and cost about the same. (Prices at Big Penny are as low as $5 and $8 with a discount coupon found on the back of a nearby grocer's receipt.) The advantage to Big Penny car wash is that you get a little adventure with your soap.
