University Animal Hospital is dedicated to providing excellent medicine to all our patients and the best possible service to our clients. Our veterinary staff is compassionate and knowledgeable, drawing from both personal and professional experience to offer the quality care you deserve. We offer all the services your pet could need, from boarding and grooming to preventative medicine, surgery and hospitalization. Our doctors are available seven days a week, including evenings, so you can feel confident that we will be there when you need us. Located in Tempe, Arizona, University Animal Hospital was established in 1962. It is the second oldest veterinary practice in the entire east valley. The original hospital has since grown from two veterinarians and a staff of five, to 11 veterinarians and a staff of 80. The hospital moved to a new building in 1996 which was specifically designed and constructed to facilitate better care of small animals. This new facility is more than five times the size of our previous location. At 13,224 square feet, our hospital easily accommodates our doctors, support staff, and our many clients. In our boarding facility we have 157 dog suites (indoor & outdoor) and 48 cat condos (indoor) available for owners to entrust their pets with us when they are away. Our facility won a national award from the Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition. Inside, our clients and their pets feel at home in the large reception area. We also have a children's play area with toys and games to keep the little ones occupied. Our waiting area has low dividing walls between seating areas to offer pets individual privacy while waiting. University Animal Hospital is a complete small animal veterinary facility and a full-service boarding facility. We offer many important specialty services such as Laser Surgery, Endoscopy, Digital X-Ray, Dentistry, Ultrasound, and EKG. We also have two exotic/reptile doctors on staff. We wish to thank all who have supported us over the years and worked with us to make this possible.

University Animal Hospital Saved me Money & Saved my Dog

by cathy s.

I live in Gilbert and took my 6 year old dog to a vet who told me that they didn't have the equipment needed to evaluate/treat my dog. University Vet was able to diagnose my dog and treat her without surgery - they saved me so much money not to mention my dog is back to her old self! Thank you University Vet! You are my new veterinarian.

Proud to be a UVH client!

by Julie C.

I became a client when I first moved to south Phoenix on a recommendation from my previous veterinarian. I love that University has so many doctors because I can always get in to see someone. The hospital is laid out really well and I *love* the boarding areas! My dog and cats have a great time when they board there. The prices are right in line considering their doctors have so much experience and skill. I like that I can buy my pet food and I can get my dog groomed right at the same place! One time, when I brought my dog, Louie, in for grooming, the groomer found a puncture wound on his foot that I would never have noticed. She alerted my vet who examined him and called me with a treatment plan. I really appreciated the attention that the groomer and the vet gave Louie and it made it really easy and convenient for me to get him treated. I also like that they send me reminder cards in the mail so I don't have to keep track of when all my pets' vaccines and exams are due. Thank you University Animal Hospital for providing my pets with top-notch care!

Amazing Experience

by Tom G.

Amazing experience By Jad D. I had to bring my dog into University Animal Hospital in an emergency because he ate an entire bottle of aspirin. From the time that I came in, they were quick to take action, but the vet soon came in and described exactly what they were doing and what the consequences were, I wish that I had that much confidence in my own doctor. They let me come back and be with him after they were done with the emergency work and did not rush me at all. Any questions that I had either the technician or the vet answered for me with no problem. I changed over to them as my regular vet from then on, and I would never look back.

Highly Recommend

by Michelle G.

This hospital has a great staff and doctors. They continue to provide my pets with the best care possible and I appreciate the fact that they are innovative and can handle difficult cases. I went to many other vets in the area and was not happy. Their staff have always been friendly with me and they obviously love animals.

Best Place To Go

by Susan S.

I have always had the best experience coming to University Animal Hospital. They have an amazing and caring staff from the front office to the doctors. We had an emergency with our dog and they were absolutely amazing with their response time and as upset as we were they gave us the care we needed as well as our pet. We have been coming here for years. I would not go anywhere else

This vet who owns this place is amazing. He is a really nice guy who without a doubt really cares about his customers. He is willing to work with you on payments, and runs a great business. The office is clean, and the waiting area is very comfortable.

vet

I really like this vet. I used to go here when I lived closer to their office. The vet is a very friendly guy who really cares about the animals he is treating. His entire staff is caring and are all great people. The office is small, but still very nice. They sell a few products here, not many but they are all high quality. They are open late which is really nice if you work late.
