We went here in May 2010 while visiting Park City. The drive down from Park City through the canyon was amazing. Parking was free in the aquarium parking lot. We spent at least 2 hours in the aquarium and had a nice lunch at the aquarium cafe. We saw every attraction and presentation they had to offer. Touched every sea creature we were allowed to touch, etc. This is an amazing place. My mother and aunty both highly recommended this aquarium to us.

We literally spent over half an our watching the penguins, they are so cute and quite interesting. They love to "perform" for people watching them.

The seahorse exhibit was amazing and since we are not from the state it was great to see all of the native species of Utah.

We highly recommend this aquarium to both ocean and non-ocean lovers. Try to plan for plenty of time to see all of the exhibits as well as the presentations and animal feedings.

The Living Planet Aquarium is not only a fantastic place to visit but an incredible place to have a birthday party, for kids of all ages.
I recently booked a birthday party there for my little 5 year old. We were greeted immediately by the party host, and taken back to the Sunken Ship. Our party host was informative, friendly and great with my birthday boy.
When coming into the ship the staff had decorated it, provided all of our service-ware, there were pitchers of kid friendly drinks handy, and a birthday gift awaiting my child. The host never left our side other than to fulfill our soda requests, it was great.
After presents and cake the party hosts took the children on a treasure hunt it was so much fun to watch them jump from exhibit to exhibit. We checked out with our host and then we were free explore the aquarium.
It was a great time and i would highly reccommend having a birthday party there.

Way to go Living Planet!!!

The Living Planet Aquarium is a great place for young and old. It's very educational and keeps kids entertained for hours. It's easy to get to, and the parking is free! The facility is clean, and the guest service and education staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was nice to have someone at the bio facts station to talk to about all of the animals. There are special presentations throughout the day where you can see and touch live animals! The experience received at The Living Planet Aquarium is priceless.

WE purchased a Birthday Package there in which is supposed to include a host, unlimited drinks to the soda fountain and a room for an hour. We in fact did not get a host, we had to ask for drinks because the fountain is no longer availabe. When our drinks came it was already 30 minutes into the party. The tables were dirty when we got there, like they reused the generic plastice table clothes from a prior party. The package was for 12 ppl. WE had a mom stay to help sence she noticed there was'nt a host. We were told she would be charged the child admission. Which did not happen. When we went up to complain at the end of the party, The manger argued about the point we were not supposed to have a host with the packege and in fact relooked at the coupon we purchased and then realized we were. Didnt seem to care that our drinks came half way into the party, with no ice and flat. Mmm hot soda yummy!! Then he just pretty much blew us off and another employee at the front started being rude and told us we should have not had the party there for our child if we were so unsatisfied. He just kept making rude remarks and the manger didnt care that his employee was being that way to us. I would recommend NOT having your party there for that kind of price you have to pay!! Very Disappointed!!

We've been to aquariums in Honolulu, Maui and California. I would rate this one in Sandy as one of the cleanest and most educational that we've been to. It is perhaps smaller right now than some of the others, but for its size it has ALL of the sea animals you want to view such as sharks, stingrays, octopus and jelly fish.

One of the neatest aspects of this aquarium is that it has a whole section on native Utah fish and aquatic life. Utah has a diverse amount of creatures as well. It is especially important for children and adults to understand how many endangered species of fish that Utah has. There are plaques devoted to these conservationalist efforts located in the gallery. Kudos!

I also will have to say that the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to answer everyone's questions!

The Living Planet Aquarium is located in the Gateway shopping center. Currently this is an exhibit of what we expect to be a much larger aquarium in the near future.

I took my daughter and wife to the exhibit and they loved it. My Daughter especially loved the shark tank. She would just stare in awe. They also have a stingray exhibit and you can touch them. Its very cool.

Considering this is not the complete aquarium they are planning on, I felt the prices where a bit much. Its $7.00 for audlts, and $4.00 for children. You can spend about an hour there without getting bored. There is also a gift shop.

PROS: Good for all ages.
CONS: Little expensive. Not the complete aquarium.

This will be great once the permanent location opens! The aquarium was quite small, but there were some cool activities. The best thing was petting the sting rays (and sea cucumbers and starfish). There are about 10 tanks in this location and a boat-simulation.
The location at the Gateway is excellent, though, as it is right next to the fountains.
You also have to pay for parking, which is a bummer. They do have validations available, but it only takes off an hour.

PROS: Location (at the Gateway), touching the sting rays,
CONS: Overpriced for size, pay to park,
