Ratings_icons Beautiful place to see regional theater!

Gail C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,508

Right in the heart of downtown Mountain View, this theater is the perfect place to come and enjoy regional theater. The acoustics are great which you fully appreciate when Theatre Works is presenting one of it's amazing musicals. The staff is always friendly and there is a small snack bar for intermission munching.

Ratings_icons Stories On Stage - Perfect for School Children!

Michelle Y. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,120

The "Second Stage" at the lovely Mountain View Center for Performing Arts offers something unique: Stories On Stage. These 45 minute productions are made for 3-7 year olds. They are adaptations of story books, using nearly blank sets and very few props. The experience is closer to reading a book than watching a TV show in that the children's imaginations are engaged.

Very well done, and a perfect introduction to theater for kids.

Ratings_icons For the aspiring dancers

Olggie Z. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,319

The mountain view center for the Performing Arts is really a great place. Small studios such as Western Ballet and Pacific Ballet Academy hold anual performaces here. My won daughter performs the Nutcracker here every year. Anyone is welcome to come. The center provides for a really professional experience. All the lights, all the stuff backstage, the way people are seated in the audience. A young dancer can really get a taste of what performing life would be. The center is very nice and modern and located on Castro, the heart of Mountain View. There are all kinds of performances going on all the time so check it out and see maybe if you're interested in something. The really bad thing is though, is that the price to rent it for a studio doubles every year. It has a huge price tag.
