Vellegia's

Everything was good (actually I was lucky with crab soup and parmigiano egg-plant choice) until they've brought the check:
1) the sum was $4 higher than should be by manual summing up - they explained it finally by addition the cost of the sauce - which in turn was said to be free before - but anyway, this sauce has not appeared in the check
2) I've checked my account and revealed they add $4 more for tips!!!

I'm not gonna sue them for this, but it's a very disrespectful treatment

Granted, I'm from South Carolina, which means that most italian food I find outside of the state is GREAT!... However, Vellegia's has become a regular when I travel to Baltimore... the food is simply among the best I've had. In addition, the staff and the owner do an excellent job of creating an open, inviting atmosphere.

Without going into details, I will just say that this was by far the worst dining experience (and biggest waste of money) EVER. We went there for Baltimore restaurant week, and looked forward to a fun night with good food. Service was absolutely terrible, and the food was not even edible. TERRIBLE!!!!

Although this restaurant has been around for many years, it is a gem that will hopefully be around for years to come. Ever since my family moved to MD, we have been coming here to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and just because. We find any excuse to eat here because we love the menu, prices, and the service. The staff are always caring, taking the extra time to make sure we are comfortable and just to inquire about how we are. The chef is very talented and the fact that for 20 years the restaurant has not diminished in its quality and kept the dishes we love on its menu is something in of itself. My family loves Vellegia's and it has become a family tradition that has passed down from my parents to me.

We have been going to this restaurant for almost twenty years. We love Baltimore, but we cannot live without Vellegia's. Thru 3 moves across the country and lots of vacations, we always make it to Vellegia's at least once a year. The food is authentic, the service is impeccable and make Little Italy what it is.
