Really poor service. Bad attitude with the staff. Will never go there again. Strongly recommend Peet's across the street. Much nicer and more interested in meeting the needs of customers.

Yes, this is great coffee. It's truly fresh. And, you can actually get information about the coffee. The guy who roasts it is full of information and can help you choose just the right coffee for you.
I've only experienced friendliness from the staff here. And sometimes that surprises me as some of us spend $3.50 and sit there for a couple of hours. Looking around I see people who buy a cup of tea and sit all day surfing their computers. If I was the staff or owner that would make me nuts. But, it is very busy so hopefully they are making a lot of money regardless.
The only thing I have had here that I didn't care for was a Cold Cat. The food is excellent. The best food of any coffee shop around and also reasonably priced.
As for the lady who brought her own food in and was offended when she was told she couldn't do that? Shame on her. It's not a place full of picnic tables for you to come plop down and bring your own lunch. Get a clue.

This is a great place to have coffee and a bite. I agree that if your going to bring your own food and take up a seat from a paying customer then any shop has the right to give you should be asked to leave. Why don't you take your McDonalds happy meals to a fine resturant and tell the waiter your not ordering but would like to take a table with a view. Come on people these are small business serving the community. Support LOCAL business.

Anita L, it's common courtesy to not bring food and drink to a food and drink establishment. Most good places frown on that sort of thing, to say the least. What do you think they come to work and pay the bills for - to function as the lobby for Safeway's deli and McDonalds? Those places don't provide a nice lobby with free WiFi and a great ambience, because it's expensive.

Give places like Coffee Cat some respect and eat your Safeway food in the parking lot, and then go to Coffee Cat for products they sell. It's not that hard to understand that.

Also, there's no sign saying that they don't accept foreign currency, or that you're not allowed to take the espresso machine home with you. You're supposed to be smart enough to understand some things without having to be told.

Today, Jan 30th at about 1:15pm Myself, my daughter and her

baby came in and ordered apple cider to have with our sandwich

which we had brought with us. After paying for the cider we went

back to the counter and started to eat. As we began eating a

woman from behind the counter addressed us and said you cannot

bring food from somewhere else and eat it here.

She also said we could have our money back. My daughter

said that we saw no signs posted. We took our money and left

never to return. Please be aware that this place is not as friendly

as some people think it is.

This is the best coffee in Scotts Valley. They roast their own beans. It's alongside Safway, so there's lots of parking. On a weekend morning it's full of locals. They also sell pastries and a small selection of cold entrees to take home and heat up. The offer free internet connection and tons of comfy chairs to sit and read.
