A great place for children to interact with mostly farm animals. They have pigs, llamas, goats, turtles and many other wildlife animals. You can also reserve birthday parties for your child at the zoo. There is plenty of parking although it can become scarce during the weekend. They have paved sidewalks to go from exhibit to exhibit. A great alternative if you live in the suburbs to take your child if you don't want to go to the city Zoo.

We took the kids in our playgroup here, and they loved it! There is a big picnic area where we were all able to sit and socialize after we made it through the zoo. The only bad part is that there is not nearly enough parking! It is a great place to take the kids when you are on a budget!

Cosley Zoo has all sorts of animals, including pigs, a horse, a llama, etc. I think what the kids like the most, though, is the train car that they can climb into and explore. They also have seasonal activities, like a little hay maze type thing and a pumpkin patch in the fall. Definitely worth checking out!

For children 6 and under, this is a great zoo. It's very small, especially if you're used to Brookfield or Lincoln Park, but just the right size to keep a preschooler's interest and just the right size for them to run around without exhausting themselves. Mostly farm animals, with a few rehabilitated wild animals. And the best feature of this zoo is that it's free!

PROS: FREE AND NOT TOO BIG
CONS: PARKING IS NOT GREAT

The Cosley Zoo in Wheaton is a great FREE place to bring the kids on a summer day. Did I mention it is free? There are lots of animals to see but not the tradional animals like lions, tigers, and bears oh my. This zoo has cows, llamas, horses, pigs, and ducks. It's more of a farm zoo. But the kids will love it nonetheless. There is a place to buy snacks while you are there and a cute little giftshop as well.

This is probably one of the smallest zoo's I've ever seen, but it was the perfect size for my 2 year old. It has just a handlful of ducks, horses and cows, with a few other misc. animals. There is a nice area to picnic and also a huge train, that really is just there to climb on.
