The other reviews failed to mention that it is also a dog park. I have been taking my dogs to this park for the past 18 years. They LOVE it there. I have made a lot of friends, human and dog, over the years. I call it my little 100 acre wood. It's a beautiful place.

When I was growing up Double Rock park was my favorite park. It's great. It's a hidden piece of country side buried in Baltimore county. Now there's trash where I used to rock hop. There are no swings because they were deemed 'dangerous'. The fun playground equipment has all been removed. Every time I go now it's a bunch of teenagers cussing loudly just hanging out. I'd think twice about visiting this location unless you go during the day while the majority of kids are hopefully in school.
PROS: Beautiful countryside
CONS: Too much trash, and not enough playground equipment

Double Rock is one of the most beautiful parks in Baltimore. The trails are well-marked and safe, and are never crowded. In the summer when it is hot you can wade in the stream and play on the watefalls, just be careful not to slip! The water is super clean and in the deeper pools you'll find all sorts of animals and fish. There are also playground and ball fields where the Rec teams go to play - the concession stand is always open during these games and tyhey have some pretty good food. This park is very versatile and has something for everyone!
PROS: Beautiful, clean, well taken care of!
CONS: None!

Double Rock Park feels like the countryside brought into the city. It is hilly and shaded and usually pretty empty of people. There are two nice playgrounds and several ball fields. You can reserve pavillions for a small donation. There are nice hiking trails that are usually uncrowded. Very nice park.
