I was extremely dissatisfied with the treatment I received at Dr. Brand's office. The office staff is run like a well oiled machine, which having 10 years of medical experience in various doctors offices/hospitals made me think that Dr. Brand was very strict with her staff. I thought maybe that meant she was a thorough doctor, but was I ever wrong! With the exception of one who was very friendly, and one of the nurses who also was very friendly, the rest of the staff was downright rude. They all had attitudes and made you feel like you were inconveniencing them. Even if you try to joke and be polite, they stare at you like you're absolutely nuts. Also, they need to learn how to pronounce obvious female names. I've never met a girl named AlexanDER, but I digress. Next off, Dr. Brand is far more concerned with getting her medical notes written DURING your consultation, as opposed to after the visit, which is when most PROFESSIONAL doctors dictate their notes. Sorry if you can't remember/keep up with your patients, but if that's the case stop seeing so many patients throughout the day. She uses words and medical jargon that is not in layman's terms, and God forbid you even try to ask a question! She is verbally short with you and can be abrasive at times, and does not offer any explanation to how you got what you did and why she's prescribing numerous medications that should NOT be used in conjunction with one another. Thank God for CVS who informed me I shouldn't be taking those meds together because she could care less. One of her instructions was to call the ER if I have a bad reaction because they'll be closed. What?! Why are you even given me meds when you cannot DIAGNOSE the situation?! The best part is I consistently kept getting worse and all they did was prescribe me more meds, which was NOT solving the problem. They did a biopsy and still "couldn't assess" the issue - so basically, you just want my $$$? Thanks for nothing. My final straw was when she went away and made me see someone else in the office who was even more incompetent than her. I urge everyone with derm needs to seek a specialist at Cornell or NYU, which I eventually did. One medication and I'm practically cured. I was misdiagnosed all along thanks to Dr. Brand and her horrible practice. Do NOT visit this doctor.

I read the comments from people here and I was a bit concerned but my concerns were foundless.. Everything was exactly as a visit to a doctor's office should be - staff was fine, wait was reasonable and the doctor was friendly and professional and explained what she was doing and why.

My wait times were actually fine.
My beef is this: I came in to treat a wart on my foot. Dr. Brand said I should get a skin cancer screening. I said I just had one at work by a Board Certified Dermatologist and that I get such screenings every year. She then said those screenings were not thorough, nor complete. Weird, given that she didn't ask who the doctor was, nor any other questions.
When I declined the skin cancer screening, she insisted. I declined again and she backed down.
For my second visit, she again insisted I get a skin cancer screening. I said no thanks.
Is it just me, or is every patient being cooerced into having a skin cancer screening? Nice way for a doctor to generate more revenue...

Made an appt. w/ Dr. Brand but she only waltzed in for half a second. This is the rudest, least considerate office staff I have ever seen. The office visit was a waste of time. They did tests that were not necessary and did not do teats that were needed and that I requested. The consultation with Dr. Kim who was a doctor in the office that I did not ask to see was unbearable. It seems they don;t want to do any work in this office

She is so brilliant and efficient that it takes her far less time to evaluate and diagnose than it would some other doctor. Her quick analysis is always accurate; her treatment and recommendations are perfect. Dr. Brand sees what others have overlooked and she focuses on getting the right treatment instead of making small-talk. I don't go to her for social blah blah blah. I appreciate her time and her skill.
Too bad some of these online complainers don't appreciate her.

Dr. Brand corrected a misdiagnosis made by my prior dermatologist, and cleared up the condition. Other skin conditions were quickly assessed and effectively treated. She is very quick and at first I felt I was being rushed through, but in fact she is so skilled and experienced that she works at a much higher speed than your average person. She doesn't miss a freckle.

i waited for over 2hrs for my appointment. It looked like Dr. Brand booked 10 more people at the same time. When she finally took me, she barely answered my questions and was in such a hurry that i felt like she wants me out as soon as possible. She's not attentive at all and didn't even say Sorry for making me wait over 2 hrs. I felt like she didn;t care about my problem or my concerns at all. She's one of the worst doctors i ever met. Receptionist are rude as well. Overall, i had horrible experience and will never come back.

Dr. Brand has quickly identified problematic moles and removed them. She does seem hurried, but if I ask a question she always takes the time to answer. She seems to be thorough when she takes a biopsy. I trust her judgment and haven't had any problems with her. She's affiliated with NYU Medical Center. The one thing I really dislike about her office is the helpers; they are unprofessional and rude at times.

Ok, so I am not the only one! Several times I had to wait up to an hour and a half to see a doctor. Each time I was given a different doctor. I think I only saw the same doctor twice. I was also calling ahead to see if the doctor was on schedule so I could avoid waiting. The receptionists were pretty helpless. I have since found a much better doctor office and will not be going back there. STAY AWAY.

I waited for an hour and 45 minutes and was thoroughly aggravated. I saw a different doctor in the practice, not Dr. Brand. She guessed at what my problem was and told me to try a $200 product and to come back in 2 months.
While I was waiting to see the doctor and going crazy waiting so long, I spoke to others in the waiting room and found another person with the same appointment time as me. When I questioned "the help" they said it is normal to book two people for the same time and that sometimes Dr. Brand (who I was not seeing that day) booked 5 people for the same time. They had no problem admitting this. You can't blame the staff, they just want to get their weekly paycheck. The doctors are apparently very greedy.

I read other reviews of Dr. Brand the day I had my appointment, so it was too late to cancel. I really wish I had read them earlier, because all of the negative reviews are true.

I waited an hour after my scheduled time, only to be brusquely looked over by Dr. Brand and yelled at several times for forgetting to bring my baseline body photographs. I have many moles, and usually the dermatologist will take a lot of time to check each mole out. Dr. Brand took about 30 seconds to look over my whole body and didn't bother to check my scalp or the back of my neck, since I had my hair down.

On a personal level, she has a harsh way of dealing with you, which would be forgivable if she at least excelled in other aspects that matter more than personality. Instead of asking me to turn around, or stand up, she physically manipulated me like a rag doll.

I walked out of there, happy to be gone, and vowing to never return. I wasted my time, since I'm making an appointment today with another dermatologist for my annual checkup.

After waiting an hour past my scheduled appointment time in Dr. Brand's stifling, standing-room-only waiting room, for an appointment I set up six weeks in advance, I gave up and left. It was clear that Dr. Brand was hopelessly (and greedily) overbooked - there were 5 of us with the same appointment time, none of whom had been seen after an hour. Staff offered no apology or explanation. I and a number of other people wasted hours getting to and from and at this appointment, and given the other reviews, this seems to be the norm. Avoid at all cost.

I wish I had read the previous review of Dr. Brand before going to see her earlier this year-- she kept me waiting almost an hour and then rushed me through a diagnosis, gave me multiple medicines without bothering to explain the side effects, and then rushed me on my way. When I got home and read the prescribing literature, I then discovered that the medicines she gave me have serious side effects. She also prescribed medicines indicated for ONE part of my body for a totally different part of my body that apparently was not affected by the same illness. I've already found a new dermatologist and will NOT be going back to her.

I wasn't very pleased waiting in this very small office. I had to feel out a booklet of information and the staff didn't really know up from down. The dermatologist when through a list of questions and gave me some free samples of products, but didn't take the time out to fully examine what was really wrong. It was like she was taking a guess and not even testing to see what was wrong. I felt so disappointed and rushed when I left.

PROS: Only the free samples
CONS: Air-headed staff, dermatologist too rushed
