If you are ever in Rhode Island and you want to have fun this is the place. I always have so much fun at the zoo. They are very child friendly and the staff is great. They always help you find your way around. They have great presentations for the kids. I go every year and I never get bored with this zoo. A+++
Prises are averages and go to a good cause helping the park and animals out.
I've gone to Roger Williams Park Zoo for probably 30 years now. Its a good zoo. Lots to see. It covers the major continents. It has a cool rainforest where you can walk at different levels. The penguins and the polar bears are always fun to watch. Make sure you go to the cave underneath the polar bear habitat to see if a polar bear will come up to the window. Its a great zoo for people of all ages. The little ones will like the water sculpture on hot days
PROS: lots of family fun
CONS: no more pumpkins at halloween
I love zoos and this is one of my favorite ones. My kids also enjoy seeing the animals. They have a huge assortment of animals. The exhibits are very nice and educational. It's realatively clean, but a bit "pricey". If you have a big family then it will cost you a pretty penny for admission. If you want to take your children thier and know that you will go more than once then you are better off buying the season pass. It's a better deal for your money and well worth it!
We have visited Roger William's Zoo a few times, and each time have had a great visit. Our son loved it (he was just shy of two at the time). The zoo is laid out nicely and is well shaded in a lot of areas, making it a perfect place to go even in hotter weather. The zoo has a great selection of animals, including giraffes, elephants, and all sorts of animals from all over the world. They offer special exhibits, which are interesting. The zoo offers plenty of restroom facilities, as well as a eating facilities. We brought some food as well as purchased some, and it made for a good lunch (we also sat in a shaded deck area). There is plenty of parking, and the staff was all friendly. Admission price is reasonable (we had a coupon from the Entertainment Book). The zoo is easy to get to. Overall, a great place to go!
Although we have at least three zoos closer to us in Massachusetts, we travel an hour south to the Roger Williams Park zoo but it's just..... Better! It's located inside a huge park that has beautiful grounds, boating and a children's carousel. The zoo itself is large, clean and well marked. A great place for every age children and have plenty of great viewing place for little ones to take a peek. A wonderful place to spend the day. They have several places to buys meals, snacks and gifts but you are also able to bring your own lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables and bathrooms. Admission is reasonable and we got a additional discount using our WGBH card.
This is a pretty big zoo. It's well laid out and has some interesting animals. They have gift shops inside, and an area you can buy food. The price to get in isn't too bad, but buying a seasons pass is probably the best way to go if you live in the area and plan to go many times through the year.
My family and I never get tired of going to this zoo. It is a wonderful day out. There are large viewing areas for all the animals, especially the giraffes! There are a couple of eating facilities as well as gift shops. Membership is a great idea. Besides getting 10% off at the gift shops they offer a reciprical program where you can get reduced or free admission at other zoos across the country. We have taken advantage of this many times. There is also plenty of parking.
