I started going to Atlantic Tire & Service back when they first opened and what keeps me coming back is the integrity of the owner. The only thing that could make this place any better than it already is is if they did everything for free!

If you need a reliable tire/auto shop, Atlantic Tire & Service is my suggestion. I've been going there for years and I've found I can depend on them for accurate auto care and information.

I love Atlantic Tire & Services, they're great. They go out of their way to make my experience a good one. They have gone as far as picking my car up at work or getting me a rental if my car isn't ready.

I was really impressed with their knowledge of tires. I had called around to several local tire places, but even though these guys weren't the cheapest, they knew the most about what they were selling. I got my new tires put on yesterday, and my car now drives like a brand new car....and they even had my car professionally cleaned for me when I came to pick it up. I'll definitely be back.

Just back from my car's annual inspection with these folks. Friendly and prompt service, no extra charges, no pushiness about any extra purchases, nice sitting area and popular folks in the neighborhood. Will be going back.

I recently brought my car in for an oil change. The people behind the counter were just as friendly as they could be, and they seemed to genuinely care about my business. They also got me in and out quickly, which is key for a busy mom on the go :)

The owner is very proud of his store, his employees and his equipment. He has the latest equipment that can handle the large wheels and low profile tires that my cars have that many places will not touch. Stay late one night and see how they scrub down the shop floor. It's a clean, pleasant place.

Thank you for joining with others in the community and supporting the Cary and Kraft Family YMCA Golf Marathon. Your committment in $1,600 is evidence of your desire to help children and families in need, which strengthens our entire community. Each year a 100 % of the proceeds from the Golf Marathon benefit YMCA outreach programs. These funds provide scholorships to hundreds of youth, individuals and families who could not otherwise afford to attend YMCA programs. On behalf of our volunteer golfers and all the children and families the YMCA will be able to serve, thank you for generosity and support.

The only reason that Atlantic Tire gets one star from me is that Citysearch won't let me give them zero stars.\n\nThese people are common crooks. Automotive repair facilities are not permitted to give you a low-ball estimate to get you to have the work done there, and then jack up the price and charge you something completely different from what they quoted you. But this is exactly what Atlantic Tire did to me, and if they did it to me, they very likely do this routinely. When it turns out that the repair involves an additional part that is damaged and needs to be replaced, they are permitted to charge a fair amount of additional labor, and of course they are allowed to charge a fair price for the additional part. But when the additional labor adds only five or ten minutes as compared to two or three hours for the labor that was included in the original estimate, they are not permitted to pull a number out of thin air and charge you whatever they want to charge you. As preposterous as this seems, this is exactly what they did to me. I have intimate knowledge of the labor required to do the repair, both with and without the replacement of the additional part that had to be replaced. We are talking an extra five or ten minutes for at least two hours of total labor. But they added more than $100 to the labor charge, and they jacked up the price for both of the parts. The cost of the repair should have increased by about $150; instead it increased by almost exactly twice that much, overcharging me by roughly $150. The repair ended up costing me $100 more than what the dealership quoted me for the full repair. The dealership told me that their would be no extra labor for the additional part, because to install it was trivial compared to the total labor involved.\n\nThis people are crooks, plain and simple. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and also with the North Carolina Attorney General, and will also contest the charge through the credit card company, and if need be I will take them to small claims court. I just have no tolerance for crooks.\n\nAnyone who is considering letting these crooks work on your car is advised to go read the complaints on the BBB site. The BBB gives unblemished ratings to any business that resolves the customer complaints, no matter how many complaints are filed and no matter the nature of the complaints. It is almost a joke, but at least they put the complaints online so that you can read the complaints. If you read the complaints carefully, you will find that only one of them was possibly an unfair complaint, but even in that particular case, it was evident that the customer had been badly treated by Atlantic Tire, and then blamed Atlantic Tire several months later for a damaged tire pressure sensor, which may well have been damaged by Atlantic Tire.

Anthony, Cameron, JR, Michael, Chuck, Pete, AJ and the rest of the mechanics at Atlantic Tire & Service are well worth the 35 minute trip from North Raleigh (Durant Road and Capital Blvd.). \r\n\r\nThey treat my wife and I very good, and we can trust that they will only do what is right with our cars. i trust them completely. This trust has come from 9 years of loyal patronage at Anthony Blackman's Atlantic Tire & Service in Cary.\r\n\r\nThey are the best in their field and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to be treated with dignity, even when the news is not good.

This place has been nothing but honest with me and while they may point out other issues that need to be addressed, it's never been a high pressure sort of thing. I question the negative review below that claims 3 of the 4 times he had been there, he was displeased. Why would you go back so many times if you were not satisfied the first, second or third time?

I am not and have never been an employee of Atlantic Tire. I just thought I should get that out of the way first and please feel free to contact me if you question this. Sometimes it is hard to even read Citysearch reviews. I often question them as many of my favorite places have bad reviews. I wonder if they are old bitter employees or competitors trying to get an upper hand. Then again, we all have the right to our opinions and some people just can

I had a pretty horrific truck accident, one day on my way to work at IBM. After sustaining a head injury, people often don't ""treat me normally"". Everone at the Atlantic Tire & Service facilty was very kind, knowkledgeble, and completed what it was to complete my order -- on the first time!\r\n\r\nIn Christ,\r\nDave B :)

Atlantic Tire & Service is the only place I trust to take my car. I have recommended Atlantic Tire & Service to many of my friends and family. Anthony Blackmon, owner is committed to giving you the best price along with professional, dependable and quality service. There are three locations Cary, RTP and Raleigh. It doesn't matter where you choose to take your business you will experience the same committment and service at any of these locations. Atlantic Tire & Service received the 2010 Maggy Award of Western Wake for best mechanic. A very deserving award! Anthony has received numerous awards for his community service throughout the triangle. It's amazing how much he gives back to the community. If you are looking for afforability, commitment, quality and trust Atlantic Tire and Service is the best!

I have been dealing with Anthony for over 10 years and have never had an issue with their level of service and dedication to the customer.\r\n\r\nI decided a while back to upgrade my wheels and tires on my 1999 BMW 740. After looking at many reviews I decided on the Continental DWS and looked first at Tirerack for best pricing. Noting that Atlantic Tire was a highly recommended installer by Tirerack I decided to give Anthony a call about getting tires. He asked me how much they wanted including shipping then he said if he could come within $5.00 of their price would I be interested in buying from him. N0 problem!!\r\n\r\nI told him that the man who was going to buy my old wheels and tires wasn't a guarantee but was supposed to be at my house that evening. Anthony said don't worry I'll have the tires today and if it doesn't work out I'll send them back. Nice!!! Well the man called around noon and wanted to come and pick up the old tires so I called Anthony and asked if he coud fit me in today if I left the car. No problem!!! Nice !!!\r\n\r\nDropped the car off about 2:30 and they gave me a ride home. Got a call around 4:30 to say they are about ready to finalize the install and could they come and get me. No problem!!\r\n\r\nGot there as they were just starting the balance and to my amazement one tire didn't even need any weight since they mounted it spot on. Anthony was not happy with the fourth tire because of too much weight. He asked if I could come back the next day and he would have a new tire for me. No problem. He temporarily balanced the suspect tire so I could be on the road.\r\n\r\nThis is real dedication!!! Other places might have said the puitting over 4 ounces of weight on high performace wheels and tires is OK but not Anthony because it did not meet his expectations.\r\n\r\nHe did not try and sell me anything else or push a new alignment because he knew everything was OK. He also know his customers.\r\n\r\nI have heard a story about a woman upset because Atlantic ""suggested"" that she get her tires replaced becasue they were bald. This lady got indignant trying to say that all she wanted was an oil change and they were pressuring her into buying tires. Atlantic was concerned about her safety and not her money (they got plenty of that). I hope I don't meet her on a slick rainy road. New oil change and bald tires....Scary.\r\n\r\nIf you want an honest job done with exceptional dedication go to Atlantic.

I'm not sure about ""cmc32h2o"" with ""Far from impressed"" and his problems, but I personally have had very good service from Atlantic. With any car and any kind of service, problems can occur over the years, but the few times I've had a problem they've always been very quick to resolve the issue and are very pleasant to deal with. I've been buying tires and having tire-related service done there since 1999 I continue to give them all of my business. If I had to come up with a complaint, it's that you may have to wait a while even with an appointment because they are that busy. If you can, leave your car there for the day.\n\nThe owner is very proud of his store, his employees and his equipment. He has the latest equipment that can handle the large wheels and low profile tires that my cars have that many places will not touch. Stay late one night and see how they scrub down the shop floor. It's a clean, pleasant place.

I went to the cary store to get my car serviced bc my car was pulling. I went in the morning to drop my car off and leave it there. They called me back within the hour and told me it was an alignment problem and that it was out of spec. So I went ahead and let them fix it. When I came to pick up my car up, the Technician named Simon was cleaning my car, another good thing about this place. I asked him did he work on my car and he told me yes. He was very helpful as to what was wrong and told me it was all fixed, and that he appreciated my bussiness. At that point I felt really good about them already. When I drove my car back home the pull was not there anymore. Awsome job Simon! Thanks A lot!!

I just wanted to say that I think that Atlantic tire the the best! Especially the service manager, Pete. Everytime I go in to have work done on my Honda, Pete is such a geniune, mild manered guy. I actually followed him from another place he was working at to Atlantic because of the quality and sincerity of care he provides. He always gives me the truth about my car and tells me what really needs to be done. I dont ever feel like I am being taken advantage of. Great job Atlantic I would trust you with any of our family's vehicles. Thank you for your genuine availablity to always help my family!

I felt ripped off. I had been taking my cars there since 2000. I requested a low cost solution for my high milage SUV. The part needing replacement sells retail for under $125 yet they quoted me $360. When I called them on it the service rep stated the part source quoted them the top of the line unit. This was grossly wrong because even the top of the line unit retails for under $275. Once they replaced the part it still didn't work correctly so I had to go back to get it replaced. Then to top it off, at checkout they still tried to charge me for the top of the line part. In the process of getting that squared away I observed that they have extensive levels of pricing and discounts in their billing system. Be wary!

A few years ago I had an immediate need for new tires, I drove around to all the local stores, and no one was able to fit me into their schedule. I tried atlantic tire as a last resort, not only could they fit me in to their schedule they were able to give me a good price on tires. I've been having standard maintenance done with them ever since. They are always able to fit me into their schedule even when I don't make an appointment, they always treat my car well(I don't find oily fingerprints on my doors, interior), and they always seem to get me out quickly. This is one of the best auto places in the triangle in my opinion

I am new to the Cary Community. My vehicle was due for some regular maintence and I had no idea where to go. I asked around and many people referred me to Atlantic Tire and Service. So I gave it a shot. I was blown away by their wonderful customer service the minute I walked in the front door. I scheduled a basic oil change. I soon discovered that it wasen't just a basic oil change. They topped off all of my fluids, made sure my tires were properly inflated, vaccumed my car out, and cleaned my front windsheild, all of this for free!!! They are so great!!! Thanks Atlantic Tire! You have my business for life.

on June 25, 2009 I took my car there for an oil change and got it back with no oil, none f the fluids recappoed, a rag under the hood and the oil stick sticking out abut 10 inches. WhenI called them to have it twoed back to them they refused to pay for it. I have use themon two cars for 2 years and have become increasingly wary of how dishonest they are about doing unnecessary repairs and lying to me and the quality of their work is not good but this one is the worst and I have photos. I took my car to P and A Smith for repairs of the damages from this tragic oil change - they are fantastic!!!!! one more thing, Atlantic Tire kept calling me cause they wanted their rag back....no joke. do not ever use this place!!!!!!

I had been a customer since 2000. I had take my vehicle in for a routine oil change and was told my gasket was leaking and the repair would be $300. I declined the repair since I had no evidence of this ""leak"" so I went to the dealership and had no leak (surprise). They have gone downhill and are crooks! I beliveve they tagret women so please ladies STAY AWAY!!

I called Atlantic to price tires. They were the fourth place I called, and I had already done my research on a particular tire on the internet, and all the places I called wanted to sell it to me. When I called, Ed picked up the phone and spoke to me in a very calm, professional manner. Instead of the planned script that I'd gotten at the other stores, Ed started a real conversation with me about what kind of driving I do and why I was interested in the bridgestone tires. Rather than just giving me a price on tires, he actually took the TIME to ask about my car, and it turns out the tire I thought I knew everything about wasn't right for the way I drive, nor was it right for my car! I bought a set of Michelins, and I have zero buyer's remorse. We set a time to install them, and they checked my alignment, which needed to be corrected. One thing that impressed me was when I walked in, I was greeted warmly by someone who turned out to be the owner, and when Ed heard I had arrived, he made an effort to call me by name, introduce himself, and shake my hand while thanking me for the business. It's that kind of service that wins folks over...not coupons and low price guarantees. After Friday's drive to the beach, I knew I had made the right choice in going to Atlantic Tire. I'm glad I found a place that puts the needs of the customer first and puts the quick profit last. I spent more than I intended, but I'll be calling Atlantic tire for my wife's tires just to know that they are going to take care of my vehicles and what's riding in them.

Pros: Friendly people, educated staff, fast repairs, committment

Cons: Busy every day, lack of parking, confusing driveway

I have to agree with many of the other negative reviews here. They recommend that many parts be replaced when its unnecessary, its always expensive (I used to think I was paying for quality work), and the work has proven to be poor by their own admission (recommending a service that THEY performed less than one year ago... if something is only supposed to be done every 60,000 miles its pretty sad when it needs to redone after 8,000). The worst part is that I had the car in multiple times and dealt with multiple guys at the desk - each time and each person there was a different issue. You'd think that if I didn't fix some urgent need a month ago then it would still be a problem with the most recent review. Never going back, at best they are inconsistent and expensive and at worst they are scamming people.

After using Atlantic Tire in Cary just once, I'm never going to take my truck anywhere else. Everyone I talk to knows their stuff. I don't get five different stories about tires like I do at some discount places. They do good work, they do it right, and I'll bet if they don't get it right they'll stand behind their work.\r\n\r\nYou know, I can't believe what some of these folks are saying. Being a ""shade tree"" mechanic, I don't know everything, but I know a lug nut doesn't fall off and roll around in a wheel well (pretty basic physics on that one), and if my truck needs something done, I'd sure as hell rather have somebody tell me than overlook it because they just don't know their business well enough to spot something that demands attention.\r\n\r\nI'm sold on their business practices. In a town like Cary, where old Southern Hospitality seems to be a thing of the past, the folks at Atlantic Tire remember their manners (yes, Sir, no, Ma'am) and you can tell they appreciate my business. They explain their services clearly, and they tell me exactly WHY they're recommending certain services.\r\n\r\nI don't give a damn about who has the cheapest price on an oil change if they're just seeing me as another pig coming to the slaughterhouse. I'll gladly pay a few extra dollars for someone who knows what he's doing. I could buy my tires at Discount Tire or Colony, but I'd never get the kind of personal attention that the guys at Atlantic are going to give me, and that's worth the money I might ""save"" at the big chain stores.\r\n\r\nI just wish more people would post when they're happy, than those who just want to whine.

Just wanted to say thanks very much for your help with finding new \r\ntires for my 4Runner. I went with the Michelin's and they are great! \r\nAtlantic Tire even picked my car up, did the work and returned it to \r\nmy office free of charge...and washed and vacuumed it too for free!\r\nPretty awesome service - definitely would recommend them to anyone.\r\n \r\nThanks again!! \r\nLinda M. \r\n

I brought my car in for a tire rotation. They did the rotation - but one lug nut came completely off as I was driving a few days later - rattling around in my wheel well. Dangerous! Service prices are also out of line there. Will not return.

Do not recommend using them for any repairs.\r\nTheir diagnosis of my issue was incorrect.\r\nThey said that I had a bad alternator and battery.\r\n\r\nParts and labor would total around $580 (80 was for the labor).\r\nI knew this was too high ($300+ for an alternator) and left with unfortunately paying $44.95 for checking on the issue.\r\n\r\nDrove approx 1 mile to auto zone for parts.\r\nThe guys there told me I probably did not need an alternator since the belt was broken only.\r\n\r\nAn alternator by the way costs only $135 for my car here (bought and returned this item).\r\nalternator belt $16.99\r\nBattery recharge at Auto Zone (Free) - this allowed me to drive to get repairs done.\r\nBelt replacement at another local mechanic recommended by the parts store was just $40\r\n\r\nThank You to Auto Zone.\r\n

I have been a customer of Atlantic Tire for several years now. I used to visit the Cary location, but I have been visiting the Durham location on Miami Blvd. for the past 3 years. I have generally been happy with the quality of their service. But of late, I am finding that they have become aggressive in pushing unnecessary repairs. First thing to notice is when you take your vehicle in for an oil change, you are asked to select between ""Good"", ""Better"", or ""Best"" from a sign on the counter. Excuse me? Why the premium selections when all you need is a simple oil change? It takes a little probing to figure out that the regular oil change is still available, though not included in the poster.\r\n\r\n\r\nAnd once the oil change was completed, the service rep called me and recommended all types of repairs such as replacing coolant, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, brake fluid, etc. most of which had just been taken care of at the dealership during a recent major maintenance. This has happened to me on two recent visits. Such aggressive tactics discourage me from looking up to them for reliable service.

Well, I stumbled on these reviews while searching for coupons, and I feel I simply MUST put my two cents in. I recently moved to Morrisville and I came to Atlantic Tire to get a quote on new tires for my Aveo. They were pretty busy, but the man at the front desk (tall guy with glasses) walked out to my car to check my tires. When we went back inside, it turned out that my tire size would be very difficult to get since not many cars use that particular size. My options ranged from rather expensive to completely unaffordable.\r\n\r\nRather than pushing expensive tires and using scare tactics or high pressure, he searched for a different size that could still work on my car (I have no idea what they were, but they were something like a centimeter wider but still the same height). The best part was when the new size was more affordable and AVAILABLE!!! They oredered the tires for me and set an appointment for the next day to install them.\r\n\r\nThey were friendly and polite, and when I had them check my brakes, they said that I could do something to them to make the car stop shaking, but that it was not unsafe, and that my brakes were still fully functional. I'm going to come back to them because I just get a good feeling, and the man who helped me seemed to be concerned with my satisfaction.\r\n\r\nThe only bad thing I can think of is that they did find other items that needed attention, but they DID tell me how much everything would cost, and they gave me their opinions of which ones were most important, like doing my overdue oil change instead of the brake work. They didn't try to push me into anything after I told them I didn't want the other repairs. I do understand that as a small business, if they don't sell services, they can't pay the bills, and as long as I'm the one in control, I'm ok with that.\r\n\r\nTheir parking lot is scary-crowded, though, but I think I'd be more nervous if I went to a place that wasn't busy.\r\n\r\nI guess their style isn't right for everyone.

IMO Atlantic is gaming the reviews here- the 2 positive reviews today were placed specifically because they knew another bad one was coming today. Atlantic did a 65k ""maintenance"" on my car- I was charged $2050. The mileage on my car at the time of the service was 65,295. Atlantic replaced cam/crank seals, timing belt, water pump, and clutch slave cyclinder. Every bit of it badly failed within 12k miles. Atlantic did not respond at all to 3 emails, and 3 visits, over 8 months. I tried to talk to Anthony Blackman, the owner, 7/21/08, but he would not sit still or look at me (he kept jumping up saying he needed ""Al"".) Al told me he would get back to me, ""this time it won't be weeks"". On 8/14/08, 3+ weeks later, I stopped by to let them know no one had called. When I stopped by at 4pm, Lisa at the desk said he was NOT THERE. After explaining the trouble again, I said ""I feel like he's running from me"". At that point Anthony popped out of his office and said: ""I don't run from anyone"". He WAS there. ..and then he promptly ran back into his office! ...Without talking to me- a longtime 8+ year customer.... again... not even one word. I got this sick feeling- I was deal ing with a business owner that was ONLY driven to respond to what he probably considered a personal slight, rather than responding to calmly detailed documented service problems that I had. My biggest issue with Atlantic Tire is the management dismissiveness and total refusal to speak directly with customers, over honest and very real service issues. In fact, even their most recent act was to refer me to the B BB, rather than speak directly with me, even BEFORE I submitted a complaint. Unfortunately, I have to concur with 8 previous reviewers here, I don't trust Atlantic any more.

Wow! I hate to see some of these negative reviews on here.....I can't imagine having a bad experience at Atlantic Tire! My family and I have been taking our cars to Atlantic Tire for years and wouldn't trust our cars with anyone else. I've heard horror stories of other auto mechanics but Atlantic Tire has always done an excellent job while maintaining a level of integrity and respect for their customers. The staff are friendly and helpful and always get my car in and out quickly. I highly recommend Atlantic Tire for big jobs and little jobs alike!

I have just moved to Cary, and Atlantic Tire came highly recommended by my co-workers. Not only do they offer free pick up and delivery of my car, they also offer discounted prices to all employees of my company. The reason I particularly enjoyed their service was because I initially sent in my car to get an oil change and to have them check my brakes. Since my brakes had been squeaking lately, I figured I probably needed new ones. After Atlantic Tire checked my brakes, they let me know that I had at least 8,000-10,000 more miles before I would need to replace them. I really valued their honesty, especially since I was prepared to pay for them to replace my brakes that day. They have earned a loyal customer for life!

Have used Atlantic Tire for five years -- but, in spite of their great customer treatment, the quality of tire and other repair has been slipping. Too much business, perhaps. I shall not return.\r\n\r\nOn my last trip to Atlantic Tire, they forgot to tighten the lug nuts on 3 tires. We're lucky that no one was injured.\r\n\r\nAlso, beware of suggestions for service with lines like, ""Your transmission fluid is looking a bit burnt,"" or ""Your brake fluid is looking a little thin.""

We have brought our cars to Atlantic Tire & Service for years for repairs and regular maintenance. The price was a little higher than a regular mechanic, but the service was reliable and the turnaround time was reasonable. I have confidence in this business because they have proven to us over the years that they aren't out to gouge us each time we come in, but rather they build their business on trust so that you come back again and again.

I used to take my car to routine work in Atlantic Tires. Their courteous contact with the customer continues, but their business practices became border line dishonest. I got screwed once, I said, human error, etc... I got screwed 3 times, I said, stop been stupid--Look for someone else.\r\nFirst time were my breaks. I bought a package to replace breaks, unfortunately the package did not even got close to cover what all other break issues they claim to find in my car. What started as a 120 repair end up on the 500's, every time I have a question on an issue or tried to understand one thing, Jason, the shop manager, would claim a different problem.\r\nNext were the small mix ups on oil changes. Wrong filter were installed by previous mechanic, but you did the service before!!! No matter, something got broken or dirt enough to require changes or cleaning for extra charge. I promised myself I would never take my vehicles there ever again.\r\n\r\nThe last time, I was not in town and my wife took it there. Next, she calls me in the middle of my business trip to give me the bad news... $1,300 estimated repairs... I call back Jason, he gave the first explanation, my axle was split(??). It turns out my CV boots were split, I claim there was no way this would cost that much to replace. But wait there was a problem with my diagnostic lights, he suggested just a quick 80 check could help me to decide what to do next. Stupidly I agree... After diagnostic, it would take me 900 to fix the problem. I said no, just change the oil and tune it up. Final damage $400, still with damaged CV boots(?), sputtering start, and new panel light on!!! I tried to complain in the Best Business Bureau but it seems they are not registered there anymore, however they claim it on their door!!!\r\nAvoid at all costs... I took my car to the dealer. I will pay to get the job done, but the job will be done.
