Sometimes you want a salad, and sometimes you just need a huge batch of greasy tacos. Nothing beats a Jimboys run on a Sunday morning when you stayed out too late and drank too much on Saturday night! Gets me back on my feet and feeling human again!

The first and only time I thought I had money but after ordering I found I didn't have enough money to pay for the meal. I pared it down to the minimum and was just short. The person behind the counter took money out of her pocket to pay

I have always loved JimBoy's Tacos, they are like eating in someone Abuela's (grandmother) kitchen. There is nothing healthy about most of the stuff but sometimes you need the good and the grease.

This place is reprehensible. The cheese is American, the menu is entirely overpriced, and the most enjoyable part of it was the atmosphere. Even that lacked sincerity. One thing that would help is if this American-based business would hire people that speak English. Another thing that could really boost their reputation would be to charge a reasonable amount for a taco. Come on, fast food should not be as expensive as eating at a normal restaurant.

Pros: Atmosphere

Cons: Everything else

Wow, look at all the reviews!

I eat at the one on Fulton Ave. It's been there for years.

As far as the News & Review thing, isn't the right of the restaurant what publications they provide?

If you don't get the Sunday Taco Special, I think the food is priced a little high.

However, it's some good greasy food!

Cons: They had a leaky roof when I was there

I currently have a boycott petition signed by 487 people in my immediate neighborhood.
Jimboy's decision to stop offering the FREE sacramento news and review paper simply because awhile back it featured an article about gay people getting married is reprehensible, and unforgiveable.
they can shove their nasty tacos up where the sun doesn't shine. Try coming into the 21'st century you bigots!! the boycott will also include 24 hour fitness for following suit. you see gay people can affect your business as well!!

I love this place. If you come here, you need to get the tacos, they are so yummy and greasy. That's what makes them so good. And the burritos are good too.

Jim boy Taco's at the Roseville auction in California are ones not to miss. I live in Dallas Texas and make it a point to stop by there any time I visit Sacramento. They are the best !!! I too order extra taco's for a later meal. If theres a line to the window to order it is well worth the wait.

On my first (and only) visit, I ordered two items - and when I received them, there was a HUGE grease slick underneath them. I have never in my life received food that greasy that there was a massive oil slick underneath. I was appalled, and barely ate 1/8 of it before I was so overwhelmed by oozing grease that I had to toss the rest.

Pros: None

Cons: Heart attack on a plate - the oil coming off the food could heat California all winter long.

I love going to Sacramento to visit the in-laws because I get to go to Jimboys. They have the best greasiest meat & cheese burritos I've ever had. They also have the greasiest meat & cheese tacos. Simply the best.

PROS: Meaty Burritto
CONS: Greasy Shirt

I used to live in the Bay area in Northern California and maybe twice a year, my father and I drove five hours to go to Jimboys. We would then by 40 extra tacos and burritos and bring them back with us and freeze them. Pathetic, maybe. But they're that good! When we lived in Illinois and visited Sacramento, we would again buy 40 tacos and burritos and bring them on the plane with us. The other passengers were ticked, but man - this is the best food I've ever had. I miss the red dripping grease...

Pros: Fresh, Parmesian Cheese, Fried Goodness

Cons: , one in, my backyard

I love Jimboys (pronounced YIM BOYZZ with two zs). Its greasy goodness is a Sacramento treat. The location I frequent most often is on 29th street in downtown Sacramento (each location is slightly different) my second favorite being the location on Auburn Blvd, near American River College. There are three items I enjoy on the Jimboys menu (but I never have the stomach to order them all at once). First of all, I like to get the non-greasy vegetarian burrito (beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoextra for sour cream and guacamole), the bean and cheese burrito (grilled to artery clogging perfection) and the bean taco (beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, with parmesan cheese on the outer shell). Jimboys has a great salsa bar, and they always have beer.

If you're looking for Fresh Mex, don't go to JimBoy's! But, if you like a tasty taco with a slightly crisp shell sprinkled with parmesan, seasoned beef nested in grated cheese and shredded iceberg lettuce, then you can't beat Jimboy's 99-cent tacos (or 79 cents on Sundays at some locations).

Out of all the chains in Sac, my favorite Jimboy's by far is the location at Denio's flea market in Roseville. Nothing beats a few Jimboy tacos and bargain-hunting for junk and treasures on a Sunday morning. Some flea market shoppers even top this great breakfast off with a glass of beer from the roving keg on the golf cart. Can you say "Cousin Eddie"? Nonetheless, Jimboy tacos will be the one thing I will miss most whenever I leave Sac.

The last review referring to greasy food only assumed the use of lard. He or she may not be aware that most of today's Mexican food chefs and cooks no longer use lard. Jimboys Restaurant is one which doesn't use lard.
In my experience, I didn't find the food greasy. I enjoyed the most traditional Mexican taste which reminded me of my taste experience as a child. Fast, delicious food with alot to choose from a large menu! Even with a long lunch time line for the drive thru, service was quick & friendly. What a nice lunch treat experience.

Jimboys has the greasiest tacos in town. Their taco salads are OK, but everything else is so laden with lard and grease, it makes a mess inside and out.

I'd walk a mile to get a Jim Boy Taco. Really! My friends thought I was crazy to love Jim Boy's so much. It's one of the few things I miss in Sacramento. Jim Boys should seriously think of starting a franchise on the island of Kauai. The Mexican Food Sucks here!
