Pep Boys

Pep Boys is a place I usually go for car cleaning supplies and to see what kind of gadgets they have for my car. Once a few years ago I purchased some tires from them. Good quality tires, but it took about 5 hours to get 4 tires replaced. I mean come on guys, how hard is it with all the tools right there and handy to you. They just get a satisfactory rating from me.

I have had nothing but good experiences at the denton location of Pep Boys, i take my cars there for everything, and so does my family. They are very professional. I did not understand what was going on with my car and the manager there took his time to explaine to me (in detail) what was going on. I have been to other shops where i felt that i had been totaly screwed, but not here..I would recommend this shop to anyone.

Having spent $638.in Pep Boys Las Vegas, Nv to resolve a miss in my # 2 cyllindar. The 'miss' in #2 appeared 3 months later. Pep Boys Denton would not stand behind their guarantee and gave me a $350 to $600. estimate to "diagnose " and repair the same problem again... nor would they stand behind the labor of the Pep Boys Las Vegas...
I drove about 2 miles on !-35 to Jon's EZ Lube (I-35 and Ft Worth Dr) as a walk in and described the miss in cylinder # 2 to Ralph, an ace mechanic, who repaired my van in only 1 hr and cost me ONLY $30.
The Vegas Pep Boys had failed to gap the spark plug which was nearly closed, thus causing the 'miss.' The gaps on 3 more plugs were almost closed also.
Pep Boys NEVER again!

The receptionist at this shop was very pleasant, but he was the only one. I took my truck in because it was overheating at about 1pm. They did diagnostic tests and said the thermostat needed to be replaced. At this time I had been waiting for about 3 hours and the wait would be 3-4 hours longer. I was tired of waiting and told them I would bring it back tomorrow. They put my truck back together (1 hr later) and then the receptionist decides to tell me my car is unsafe to drive (which he forgot to do earlier). That changed my mind... so I decided to wait! Well then the mechanic got mad because he put the car back together and had to take it back apart again. Then the mechanic walks up to the front of the shop while I'm sitting there and brings the thermostat up to show the receptionist. He stands there making a really jerky face- slams it down on the desk and walks back into the garage. Well then it turns out that they don't think they can finish the car that day anymore so I call someone and get a ride home- then about 3 hours later they call me and tell me that they found out my radiator was bad so I also have to buy a new raidator. When I finally got my car back 2 days later the paperwork I had from earlier and the paperwork that was given to me a second time didn't match! They do an initial evaluation of your car and they guy didn't even take the time to transcribe his work to the new evaluation- it was totally different rating things differently (oil levels, fluids... ect.) Very poor professionalism on the mechanics part. I probably will return to a pep-boys but not the one in Denton next to the mall.
