You people here who think any store that sells puppies can be good are total idiots! Support of ANY store that sells puppies is support of puppy mills - this is exactly why puppy mills stay in business. Unwitting people who are willing to pay outrageous prices for puppies whose parents are suffering in these horrific places, with no adequate, food, shelter, human affection, exercise or veterinary care, and when these animals can't produce puppies anymore they are shot or bludgeoned to death since they are of no use to these greedy mill owners. Did you know if you go to a reputable breeder you will never pay the kind of money you do at a pet store for a puppy. And a warranty?! wtf, you're buying a living breathing being not a car. How about this, why don't you adopt a pet. Don't you know that each year, 5 million healthy, adoptable homeless pets are euthanized?! but still the mills keep churning out more and more puppies. Wake up people!

I'm sitting here reading all of these bad reviews from everyone, and I would have to say that I disagree with every single one of them. I just recently purchased my 3rd dog from them. My sales guy was very informative and took the time to answer every single one of my question. The warranty is so much more better than any breeder could ever offer. The Scottsdale Puppies N Love does smell at times, but that's to be expected it's a dog store. So I would have to say don't listen to the people out there making all these claims and go into the store and find out for your self..

I did not have a good experience ever with this particular store. I purchased a chihuahua puppy from their "discount" store at Arizona Mills. That is where they send the puppies that don't sell. For a time, I purchased Donovan's food from them and attempted to buy treats for my dogs. The treats actually made all my dogs ill. I also found the staff to be rude and condescending to the extent that I would never set foot in one of their stores ever again. They are also deceitful about where the puppies actually come from. The puppies come from Puppy Mills. I had asked this particular question and the staff out and out lied to me. I also asked what happens to the puppies that don't sell and was told t hat they place ads to get the puppies into homes. I believe that this is also untrue. They most likely send the unplaced puppies back to their animal broker, The Hunte Corporation and the puppies are disposed of.I even attempted to discuss this with a manager. The manager was extremely rude and did not care that certain things had been misrepresented to me. She was argumentative and non-compliant when I asked for the name of a district manager.I love Donovan. He is a delightful dog and has been in good health. He is a terrific companion animal. He can't help the circumstances of where he was born. It does distress me that he is the product of a puppy mill and I am disappointed that I participated in the support of this business. I won't make that mistake again.I would not do business with this store, or rather this company, ever again and would urge others to not support this business. Either adopt the animals from a shelter, the humane society or the pound or from a reputable breeder.

Our family recently adopted a puppy from Puppies N Love at the Fashion Square Mall. We love our puppy but are very disappointed in the customer service and the treatment we received.
The purchase process of the puppy seemed somewhat deceitful. Once in love with the puppy to buy, you are informed of what we felt was a very limited warranty on the puppy, unless you pay for one and use one of their "recommended" vets. They want you to buy monthly dog food from them that is not specifically designed for puppies. There are a lot of "extras" that they try to get you to buy. You could walk out spending much more than the already high price of the puppy.
Of course, you are most likely going to want to purchase other items for the new puppy such as collar, leash, toys and a training crate. If you buy them, don't try to return them. Despite, the message on the sales receipt that states "receipt required for return or exchange", not all items are returnable. A sign in the store states otherwise, but it is not easily seen nor is told verbally by the cashier.. We tried to return a $69.99 crate (unopened) with the receipt. They would not take it back. We had spent $2,200.00 in their store. When we complained, the employees and manager were extremely rude and condescending to us, The manager even called security. We were not rude to them. We were merely trying to plead a case for returning a $69.99 item.
When you leave the store with the puppy, be sure to ask them to give it a bath. They ask if you want it done, but it seemed like it should just be the norm. They do not put cute little bows on them to take home. Even the humane society had one for a puppy we adopted from them years ago. After spending the outrageous amount of money on the new puppy, you would think the paperwork (AKC papers would come in a nice folder). You get it all handed to you in a plastic sleeve. Again, the humane society had given us a nice folder with puppy training information, and more.
I used to go in their store a lot to buy cute bones for our other dog. I will never go back. Again, we love our puppy. It has brought lots of joy to our family, We just feel the customer service at Puppies N Love is extremely poor. It made us feel awful for spending that much money in their store.

This is a great pet store. The staff seams to really care about the animals and take good care of them. The animals are kept clean. The store is nice and kept clean and in good condition. The associates are nice and very helpful. Prices are a little high though. The store is usually pretty busy but we love to stop in and look at the pets for sale.

Puppies-N-Love is full of it. They do not care what happens to the animals when they receive their money. You can be from a lab that tests on animals for all they care. They recently sold a $2,000.00 Husky puppy to a girl that is mentally

Ok first of all the entire "Puppy Mill" issue came from the fact that A: there are puppy mills and B: there are and have been companies that deal in puppy mills. With that being said not all pet stores deal with puppy mills. As to Hunte

i am not sure how you did your research but puppies n love does NOT buy from puppy mills. My daughter works there and is the head vet tech. She is very dedicated and takes excellent care of her puppies. Why don't you go volunteer to help out at the animal shelters where you might truly do some good. Instead of hurting an honest good business with people who need their jobs. In other words, GET A LIFE!!

We are the organizers of Peaceful Pet Store Protests and we protest every Saturday in front of Scottsdale Fashion Square where a Puppies 'n Love store is located. We meet on the corner of Camelback Rd and Marshall Way at 11:00 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. If you are against this pet store, please join us to speak against it . We have done hours of research on breeders used by Puppies 'n Love and Animal Kingdom (both owned by Frank Mineo) and have written proof that their dogs come from mass dog breeding facilitites commonly referred to as puppy mills. Puppy mills are defined as a dog breeding business that is concerned more with profit than the health and welfare of the dogs. When you buy from these pet stores, you support puppy mills. Please don't buy--adopt.

I went into the Puppies-N-Love store in the Chandler Mall today. The dogs looked extremely sick and I strongly believe they are from puppy mills. I'm sorry, but I do not believe that they are from good breeders. Some of the larger breeds were in smaller cages. It is inhumane to put two large breed puppies in a small little cage. PLEASE PLEASE RESCUE! There are tons of dogs and other pets that need homes in Maricopa County! Or please go to a reputable breeder and do your research! Please also do not buy anything from them! If they are from puppy mills, you're supporting them!

In April 2009 my family purchased an additional member to our family at Puppies-N-Love in fashion square mall. The actual store was nice and the employees were very helpful. However, what we didn't know was we were being sold a sick puppy that the pet store bought from HUNTE CORPORATION (google this to see all the horrifying stories, it broke my heart). We have spent thousands of dollars in vet bills trying to keep our puppy alive and well. She has giardia (a contagious parasite commonly found in puppy mills from dirty water) which we have been treating from 3 months now and because of her weak immune system it is hard for her to fight it. The vet says the stress from the puppy mill i.e. the hunte corportation and being transported hundreds of miles without windows or ventilation causes her weak immune system. She also has severe respitory problems, problems going to the bathroom and she has trouble eating (she will go 12 hours refusing to eat). After doing some research I have found out that my puppy is one of hundreds that suffer from the exact same conditions - all of which have come from PUPPIES-N-LOVE or other stores who buy their puppies from the HUNTE CORPORATION. I called the petstore, not to acuse them, but just to see if they were aware of the conditions at the Hunte Corporation, I shared with them all the awful things I read online when I googled the Hunte Corporation. They said they could not talk to me about this....All I want is for them not to support a company so awful. We love our puppy and she is worth every penny we have spent. It concerns me that this "corporation" is still up and running. PLEASE do your research before purchasing a pet at Puppies-N-Love. We plan on taking furthur action to prevent other families and puppies from suffering.

also, google petstorecruelty and search for hunte corporation in that site

I work for Animal kingdom (also operates as Puppies-n-love) and can tell you for a fact that they come from primarily mills. The company usually buys from the Hunte corporation who is a broker. Hunte pays the breeders anywhere between $25 to $500 dollars depending on the breed. They in turn sell them to stores for $200 to $1200 and them ship them all over the country in a tractor trailer. Animal kingdom and Puppies-n-love then sells them for $1500 to $4750. If one store turns down a puppy, they try and sell it to another store. Unfortunately this can go on for days. The pups always have a respiratory infection when they come in and parasites are the norm. They have now started to buy from smaller brokers one of them being Tracey's k&j. Puppies-n-love and animal kingdom are operated out of phoenix and they have several other business names, CPI inc. Great Western Pet Supply.... When you have a problem or a tragedy they will not return your calls. A little trick is to call the number you are given but dont put in the ext. just press 0 and ask for April. They make us tell you they are absolutely not from puppy mills but they are. They tell you that the Earthblend dog food they make us push on the customer is some great brand, but it is owned and developed by them... dont believe the lies they make us tell.

Think puppy stores aren't ready for your questions? Come on now? They are very used to the much earned critisism they receive and always have a comeback to make you feel all warm and fuzzy! Many "breeders" that these puppies supposedly come from are nothing but money hungry middle men. They are brokers who don't actually do the breeding, rather import them and sell them out for a profit. It goes on in the valley....everyday. Dont be fooled! Do the right thing!

I felt very confident I could be assured of a healthy puppy to add to our family that included 2 other pets based on the reviews herein and the assurances by this pet store of no puppy mills, high quality breeders and health guarantees. I purchased a puppy from the Chandler location the day after Xmas and 2 1/2 days later he was dead. The staff was very compassionate and the refund was handled expeditiously after I incurred the cost to determine the cause of death. Cause of death is required to secure the refund. Unfortunately the compassion does not eliminate the emotional pain of such an experience. This puppy reportedly died of Parvovirus which now requires a complete disinfecting of my home before I can even consider another pet-another expense for the customer. Lesson learned-No Guarantees

I got a pup at Scottsdale Fashion Square Puppies N Love and was very glad I did. The little guy never
barks, he is filled with love, and takes himself to bed around 9:30 each night. Amazingly smart. I too
found the breeder online, with the pedigree and health information sheet they shared with me prior to
my purchase. I saw the breeder's web page and it looked amazing. The federal licence was displayed
so that I could check out his federal health inspection reports and they were amazingly clean. Speaking
of clean, so was the store. Smelled great. I have to agree, some of the local breeders I was visiting lived
in filth and so did their pups. Sure I could have saved money by buying from the local breeders, but
I figure if you are living in filth, are you really motivated to spend the money to keep your puppies healthy?
Puppies N Love only feeds their dogs top of the line dog food. Always have what looked like vet techs in the
back with the puppies, playing with them, and giving them meds and feeding them. Lots of love you could
just feel it from the staff. I appreciated that they were very open about letting me do the research on the
breeder before buying the puppy. If they thought that the breeders were puppy mills do you think they would
be so open about sharing that information with me? I paid a lot, but I feel I got the quality I was shopping
for, and the new little pitter patter of feet is something I just cant put into words. In closing, I will share a
fact about the staff, I also got an email thanking me for my business, and a number to call with any questions. Who does that these days in business? I was impressed.

as a former employee i can give you the facts. while the sales staff may not be "trained" to care for puppies the VETERINARY TECHNICIANS hired to care for the puppies from open to close are. these puppies get better care than most. current vaccines and a quality diet. if your dogs eating kibbles and bits your already behind. the water bowls may be emptied on occasion due to the frolicking of the puppies but they are soon refilled. water and fecal checks are pushed on both sales and techs. has your dogs bowl ever been empty? yeah it happens you just fill it. if a puppy is ill a vet is on call from open to close and i have personally driven puppies to the vet at the drop of a hat. and yeah they may be alone at night but so are most shelter dogs. a very thorough check is preformed each night to ensure the puppies are safe and provided for. they are only alone in the store from 10pm-6am, not that long. besides there is mall security who are scheduled to make routine checks. we have gotten calls from them before in the middle of the night to check on any unusual crying. and i cannot emphasize enough that these are not puppy mill dogs. i would much rather get a dog from them who researched thoroughly as opposed to taking my chances on a breeder. i work at a vet and see unfit breeding all the time not to mention lying about purebreds. some people want purebreds and some people dont care and some people want to rescue. it is all about personal preference! dont forget we live in america! oh and if people are concerned about the health of our puppies then they need to stop asking to pet them for no good reason. this spreads unwanted germs on puppies who are still completing vaccination cycles. the staff is more than happy to play with them in clean conditions and not to mention we wont drop them. the illness and injury of the puppies in their facilities in primarily caused by shoppers not staff. if you dont like the pet store just stay out.

Pros: healty warrantied puppies

Cons: price, a little expensive but worth it. older dogs are discounted frequently.

In Jan. of this year I just purchased the most amazing dog I have ever owned. I couldnt decide where to get my new puppy from. I did alot of research on local breeders and found out that AZ has the largest puppy mill rates then any other state. So I decided to go to the Scottsdale puppies in love, in the fashion square mall. I walked in and was greated by very friendly staff. I had a million questions and they had all the answers for me. The store had a amazing aroma too it it smelled like fresh flowers. all the dogs were out playing in the back. along with 4 dogs playing in the store. there was a vet on the way out the door. the staff told me he's just coming for his weekly check up. and I saw two other vet staff in the back feeding the puppies. I was amazed. I figured if this company puts so much work into these beautiful puppies that there is no way these dogs are from puppy mills. every dog looks clean and very heathly!!!!. for all of you people who think these are puppy mill puppies do your research!!!!!!!! You must have nothing better to do then walk through a mall and complain about these dogs....What about your dogs at home? did you think that maybe your dog is lonley at home and missing you when ur so busy worring about puppies that have attention all day long from customers and the staff and the vet staff? I researched the breeder that my new puppy came from...I found out that this puppy is really from a USDA certified breeder. And even better I googled the name of the breeder and got her number and even called her. She was great I had alot of questions about my new puppies mom and dad and what size where they. She took over 20 mins on the phone with me and even told me too call her if i had any other questions... now thats customer service. not only do I have a smart amazing puppy I also have a 4 year health gaurantee. no back yard breeder could give me that. so my point is leave the good people alone go harrese other breeders in az!!!!

There are wonderful dogs of all breeds in rescue organizations in Arizona and around the country. Please consider looking at the Humane Society website to see exactly how many of these puppy mill animals are treated and what you may be buying from these businesses. It's big business and there will be many people (probably those involved in making money off these puppy mills or working in the store) who will protest these comments. Selling animals like they are sweaters or sunglasses is just unethical and should be outlawed in our country. Why not at least look into saving a dog from being euthanized by adopting him/her from a rescue agency. If you love animals save a dog or cat!

The Humane Society euthanized 4,724 animals in 2006, or 37 percent of the 12,598 animals brought in.

Pima Animal Care euthanized 8,369 dogs during its last fiscal year, which ended June 30, or 59 percent of the 14,177 dogs brought in. It euthanized 5,279 cats, or 79 percent of the 6,711 brought in.

I have been to every mall puppy pet store since I was a kid, and would never buy a puppy from one, mostly because the quality of the puppies they sell is poor. However, as much of a sceptic that I am, I have to admit that the quality of the puppies at Puppys-N-Love is impressive. They carry many unique breeds and unusual colors as well. A mall pet store is not a puppy mill...you wouldn't believe what puppy mills are like if you think this is bad! Also, they do ask for people to use the hand sanitizer before petting the puppies, they always will let my children play with the puppies without trying to sell me one, and they have large pens in the back of the store that the large puppies get to play in that most people don't realize. Just because you see a puppy sleeping in a cage when you walk into the store, doesn't mean that puppy stays in that cage 24 hours a day. All that being said, I still wouldn't buy a puppy from them unless I truly fell in love, just because their prices are outrageous. I bought a show quality Dogue De Bordeaux (French Mastiff) for $1,800 from a reputable breeder and had pick of the litter. A nice Dogue De Bordeaux pup at this pet store costs about $3,500. A Chihuahua for $2,000? I don't think so!

Unfortunately this business has gone down hill.... Almost no paper in the small cages for the puppies living in their own filth. Food is strewn around the bottom of the cage so the puppies are eating paper and their own feces. I have seen this over and over again. I work near the mall and my kids always want to go in that terrible store. It used to be much nicer but it has gone down hill big time with regards to cleanliness, smell and service. When I told two of the male employee's, (who were busy talking on their cell phones and sitting on the counter) that the puppies were eating their own feces as it was coming out of the other puppies rear end. The blonde male employee laughed at me and said oh yeah they do that all the time. He made no attempt to clean it up. Almost every cage that we looked at had multiple piles of fecal matter in their cages and several of them were eating the feces. This can't be good for them considering that is how alot of parasites are passed. We asked to seee one of the puppies and we were told that the puppy was sick. NICE..... Well I would strongly recomend not purchasing anything from this store as they are promoting puppy mills. Oh and by the way the puppies are all well over $1500.00. Please rescue a puppy or dog in need.

This is a horrible example of a puppy mill. The puppies are in small steel cage. This is just shameful and the owners should be taken to court over this business. Send this review to all your dog loving friends so they will write a note to the owners of this store. Horrible and shameful! Contact PETA, contact the Arizona State Attorney General's office. These people need to be put out of business!

I don't even know where to begin. Most of the puppies are kept 1' x 1' x 2' boxes with metal sharp metal gates trapping them in. Most are stacked cages tall and I have personally seen puppies fall from the top kennel! And then the innocent puppy is hurt because of the neglagence of the staff at the Fashion Square Puppies N' Love. There are a lot of older dogs that have been living in the extremely small 1'x1'x2' box. The store is filthy and smells horrible. Some customers seemed to be excited that you could maybe touch a pet except with the addition of having a highly commissioned sales savage trying to pressure you. Nobody is asked to sanitize their hands before petting the puppies either. So if one puppy that the customer has played with has parvo, then all the puppies they play with are at risk for parvo! Then if you decline and try to leave they will throw an even cheaper price at you, a carsalesmen anyone? There are no pedigrees to look at and the employees are vague on where they come from. The warranties vary depending on how expensive the dog is (if it is older and on sale you get a limited warranty! This store was disguisting and sad and employees seem desperate and will do anything or push anyone to make a sale.

I love this store! I purchased 2 puppies from Puppies N Love, one from the Arrowhead Location and one from Scottsdale. The customer service is great, staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The store is always clean and the puppies are always happy. I looked into complaints on pet stores in the area and visited them all before deciding where to purchase my puppies. There are numerous complaints on the other pet stores and they are disguisting and sad. Pets Landing is dirty and has dogs 6-8 months old! Just Pets gave me nightmares. Puppies N Love is the only place I would buy a puppy.

My wife and I have been promising our kids a puppy for some time now. We have visited the Puppies n Love in Scottsdale pretty much every time we were in the mall. We have enjoyed playing with the puppies and the staff was so friendly and not at all pushy like I expected them to be. Being the cheap skate (what my wife called me) Dad that I am, I thought I could get a better price for the same quality puppy that the store had. I can tell you that I was very wrong. It was actually frightning to go out to some of these breeders homes and see the conditions and the lack of knowledge on the "breeders" behalf. When I asked questions about health and what they were going to do for me they all pretty much said "cash and carry, sold as is". Most of the puppies we saw from the paper, didn't even look half as good as the puppies at Puppies n Love. Well needless to say my wife and kids insisted we go back to the store which by the way is always clean and smells great, unlike the homes we visited, and with help from the staff chose a Soft Coated Wheaten puppy we named Baily. I had no idea there were bigger dogs that didn't shed! Well we love her and want to say thank you to Puppies n Love for putting up with me and my nine million questions. Baily is wonderfull, potty trained in just a few days and loves her new home. It was worth every penny to be in a safe, clean and professional environment and be assured that all of her records were in order and any vet bills were covered. We saw Dr. Lee at Camelback Animal Hospital (our vet visit is covered and required by Puppies n Love) and he said she was very healty. Our visit to them was also a very positive experience.

I Bought my English Bulldog from this store almost two years ago. I paid $4500.00 for him and was tottaly in love with him. He came to me with a really bad respiratory infection and had to be hospitilized. He didn't come home to me for two more weeks after I had to leave him in the store for three weeks. That was over a month of my poor babies life spent in a kennel. The Manager Johnnie was the only person who seemed to care about me and how I was feeling. I wanted to get my money back and the only reason I didn't insist was because of the service that Johnnie gave me. Calling me and ensuring that they were doing their best to take care of him. Through the past two years We have had multiple medical problems with Diesel and it has cost us 10s of thousands of dollars to deal with his health issues. The vet assured us that this was indeed a puppy mill puppy. When we tried to contact their corporate office we were ignored by some cow named April Shaw that is supposed to handle their claims. We called and called and left multiple messages. She never returned our calls. We called Johnnie and she tried her best to help us but it was obvious that it was out of her hands. They try and make you feel all fuzzy inside by give you a warranty that it turns out is good for absolutely nothing since their business practice seems to be "ignore the issues and they will go away". When we pushed the envelope and finally found a loop hole in their phone system April was rude and short with me stating that they "don't cover anything with Bulldogs because they are prone to hereditary issues". She went on to hang up on me when she got frustrated. Save yourself and boycott this business that profits on these poor puppies. Oh... By the way. I contacted the breeder that my puppy was originally from ( he was sold to the Hunte Corportation for $700.00) and I was informed by the Hunte Corp that they sold my puppy to Puppies-N-Love for $1000.00.

I have to share a wonderful experience with all of you.....I purchased a beautiful and I mean beautiful, healthy, happy puppy from the store in Scottdale. The staff was so caring and were ready to answer my every question. Every one of the employees that were there doted on the puppies and were all holding them in their arms when I came in the store. There store smelled great! (not what I was expecting) There was an english bulldog puppy on the floor that ran up to greet me as I walked through the store. I had no intentions of purchasing a puppy but fell head over heals in love with a papillon that was playing in her kennel. The staff was not pushy or overbearing and was so patient with me in making my decision. The store manager even spent time explaining the breeds that she thought would be best to fit my lifestyle. The store was so clean, the staff was friendly and very helpfull and it is obvious that they all love their jobs! Thank you Puppies and Love!
