I didn't have high expectations from Dr. Leong, although I was impressed with his resume. However, it became apparent as my son got older that he was inadequate when it came to helping us with our son's eczema. Upon our initial appointment about his skin problem Dr. Leong told us it was heat rash, although I told him of a family history of eczema. It's not that he couldn't be incorrect in his assessment, it was that I felt that he wasn't concerned when I expressed a worry or question I had. Weeks and then months later it was obvious my son had eczema, of which I did my own research to find this out. When Dr. Leong said it was eczema and I asked for a referral to a dermatologist and then an allergist, he denied my request stating he was too young for them to be of any help. I ended up going on my own to a dermatologist just to get my son some relief from his itchy/weeping skin! Then only when my husband pressed for a referral did we get it later. But by this time he had been dealing with it for the first few months of life and I feel guilty now knowing I could've gotten him relief sooner. I've since switched dr's and am so much happier. I wouldn't recommend him and I've since heard similar experiences from other mom's.
