I went to Ervin for dizziness and was told I had Menieres, given a treatment of Prednisone and water pills, and told there was no other cure. I refused the prednisone. Within a year, i discovered the dizziness came after stiff neck and headaches i was getting - when one would start the other would follow. I eventually adopted use of a small tens (electrical stim) unit to stop the cycle when things got really bad. 10 years later what was it? LYME!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a hige connection to brain/head disease symptoms and Lyme. Don't ever accept a diagnosis of Merieres, MS, some other neuro-disabling without investigating Lyme through a Lyme literate doctore ONLY. This is an emeging disease that most doctors o not have the testing or background to handle--and worse yet, often take an opposing or distrustful view of it. Catch it early - don;t cound on seeing the tick bite - most never see it.

I felt as though my problem was not considered important. I wanted some information about the cause of my tinnitus
and what to do about it. The doctor recommended taking
a vitamin for a few months. I have followed his advice but no
change in the ringing in my ears.

Dr. Ervin did thyroid surgery on me several years ago. While my pre-surgical experience with him was okay, and the surgery went alright, there were problems post-surgically. First, he stated that the surgery would be done in the fold of my neck, where the scar would have been less obvious. Instead it was done considerably below the fold. Second, when he removed my stitches, he realized at once that there was a problem with one end of the incision. The problem was obvious enough that he felt compelled to tell me about it, along with a breezy "but nothing to worry about". I reminded him that I have problems with keloids, and he again said that the problem was nothing. I ended up with a large, obvious keloid that has actually caused people to gasp when they saw it. Last year, when I needed to have a benign tumor removed from my jaw, I insisted on being referred to a different doctor. I will not go back to Dr. Ervin.
