Our two children have been patients of Dr. Dan since age 2. Both children love checking in with Dr. Dan and his staff on a regular basis. Their gentle encouragement to learn and practice good dental hygiene has provided tremendous influence/ motivation for our girls. Our oldest daughter just turned 18 and was quite disappointed to learn that she had aged out of the practice. In addition, we have found the office staff to be the absolute best in assisting us with scheduling (and occasionally, rescheduling) of appointments!

Dr. Dan and his staff are top-notch professionals. My father is a retired dentist (he lives in another state) and I never thought I would find dental care for my children - as good as my Dad. My girls have been patients for 5 and 7 years. We have had regular cleanings, emergencies, (2 chipped front teeth) extractions for orthodontia - all have been handled perfectly. The hygienist's are great. They are well trained in working with children. The front office staff is very professional, efficient and friendly. Dr. Dan knows his pediatric dentistry and he does it right. I have checked everything Dr. Dan has told us with my Dad (more to just keep him informed) "Grandpa" has agreed with all info and advice, no better reference for me. Dr. Dan's office may not have the "fancy TV's, and fish tanks" or much of a computer system for their staff, but they take care of their business Dentistry and they are friendly and professional. My children wouldn't go anyplace else!

Dr. Dan is a favorite in my family. When my 18 year old daughter first moved here, she was 4 and had already been fired from a pediatric dentist in CA for being too difficult. Dr. Dan's staff tamed her fears right away. She never looked back and has enjoyed the dentist ever since. We are sad that she will have to find a new dentist, but he insists they move on at 18! He and his staff have seen us through all sorts of dental issues without tears. I cannot imagine going anywhere else.

I went to doctor Dan from the time I was 4, until I was 18 and a little embarrassed to be going to a children's dentist. I now take my 3 year old son, I wouldn't consider taking him anywhere else. The staff - shows him exactly what they'll be doing on their fingers and on his, before they put any instruments in his mouth. They are amazing to watch with him, they talk to him and make sure he's okay. We've been twice and not a single tear. I can't imagine anyone having a bad experience dealing with anyone at this practice. I have seen children cry and scream walking in the door, not because of how they are being treated, but because they have a fear of the dentist.

I was recommended to Dr. Dan by a close friend whose son had gone to him regularly until he turned 18. My daughter is 12 and Dr. Dan has been her only dentist. I dread the day she turns 18 (in more ways than this!). I have always found Dr. Dan and his staff to be highly professional, friendly and more than competent.

Many years ago, we switched to Dr. Dan's office for the children. Two of mine had a bad gag reflex and other dental offices just ignored the gagging until they would throw up. Then, the staff would seem to blame the kids for not "breathing through their nose." They hated going to the dentist. However, not even once did a gag reflex get out of hand at Dr. Dan's office. The staff is fabulous and really pays attention to the kids. My only complaint is that my oldest turned 18 this year and we begged to stay, but they make the kids move on after 18!

I find it hard to believe the bad review on Dr. Dan. Love the guy. I have taken my children there for 18 yrs. The staff is caring and great and I couldn't recommend Dr. Dan any higher. When my son was young, he had to have some pretty intense dental work and Dr. Dan ALWAYS laid out our options, was patient and kind and my son was always willing to return. Parents are welcome to stay with their children. Would recommend him HIGHLY.

Horrible experience. Patronizing 'Dr. Dan' was a nightmare to deal with and we quickly switched to another children's dentist.

We had just gained full custody of our daughter and she needed some dental work done.

I was very clear to document some of the previous issues involved with her dental care and made sure to be informed of what options we had.

The trouble started when Dr. Dan did not fully read the file of information and refused to discuss options. I was being treated as if I was just an annoying problem. He refused to give my eight year old child nitrous oxide to help her through a rough procedure and told me that the only option was doing the work in the hospital if I didn't let him do it his way. By the 2nd session, my child was being held down screaming and I was DONE with him.

We went to another local children's dentist who listened to me, took the time to explain why he did things the way he did. He did everything he could to find a middle ground that worked for my child. The result was my child was give some extra time to understand things and given the nitrous oxide. At the end of the dental work she asked if things had even started. No tears, no screaming.

What Dr. Dan said would take 2 more sessions was finished by the new dentist in ONE session and cheaper.

Dr. Dan's office also is older and doesn't offer the great options that other children's offices do. The new dentist we used had flat screens over the dental chairs playing whatever DVD the child wanted, so my daughter was happily relaxed to a movie she loved.

My daughter chipped her tooth and our regular dentist was unavailable. Early the next morning, I called Dr. Dan's office hoping to get in ASAP as a new patient. They not only returned my call BEFORE business hours, but were also willing to see my daughter first thing! Based on experience, I wasn't expecting them to call back, much less accomodate us. The staff is very friendly and professional and Dr. Dan is terrific!! We are so excited to be new patients here. They make you feel important, and who does that anymore?

I have been attending Dr. Dan's dentist office since I was five. I am extremely pleased with the assistants as well as Dr. Dan. They are always very nice and make you feel welcome. Every six months I get a routine check-up followed by a personalized inspection from Dr. Dan. For anyone under 18, who is looking for a great dentist, Dr. Dan is the man!

I have been going to Dr. Dan for many years and he and his staff never fail to amaze me. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and timely. Plus, they have been serving the Cary area for over 30 years! Do yourself a favor and check out their smiling office. (www.carypediatricdentist)

Pros: Amazing at putting children at ease

Cons: N/A

I had my 2 children in for a visit. TJe environment is kid friendly in the sense that it is not in small, intimidating rooms, but rather all the chairs are in one large room. Everyone was happy and kind the entire time.
The hygenists were phenomenal! They walked my kids through the whole cleaning, and de-sensitized them to each step. My kids were on opposite ends of the room, so I could not really be "with" either of them, and I did not need to be. The dentist was also very nice and thorough. The kids had fun, and actually asked when they could come back.
My oldest used to cry at the word "dentist".

Pros: staff, technique

Cons: parking
