A car hit me in the back while I was at a complete stop awaiting the light to change green. Injuring both knees per Raleigh Community ER. Call for appointment 8 am, call back 11am. Paula is rude, telling the other nurse loudly, I told her they will call her. The other was not listening to what I was saying. They did 5:48 that evening giving me a appointment Monday, July 13 at 1:30 and be on time. I had number 10 pain in my left knee while dragging it while trying to walk.

I was sent to Raleigh Orthopedic for a right knee problem that I have had for most of my life. I had the same problem only worse in the left knee when I lived in Las Vegas. The Doctor in Las Vegas was able to fix the problem, but then I moved before he could fix the right. I went to see Dr Boone in hopes that he could pick up where we left off in correcting my problem. He made me feel as if the problem never existed and made me go to physical therapy. I did and the pain got worse. Then he ordered an MRI, oh and look at that I am not crazy. There is a problem, the some one that I had come to him for. He tells me that the surgery that can fix it he would not feel safe in doing. So I have decided to seek out finding a new Doctor. I found one who CAN do the surgery I need. So I go to Raleigh Orthopedics and try to get my records. Easier said than done. They LOST my MRI. They were also very rude when I asked for my x-rays and treatment notes. They did agree to get them ready and have the for pick up the next morning. Guess what they were not ready. I can return tomorrow! oh and still no MRI. They went behind my back and asked requested a copy form the place who did the MRI. That same place also called me and let me know that it was requested. I have seen many Orthopedic Doctors in my time due to ongoing knee problems. This is by far the WORST I have ever been to, and I have seen some bad ones in my time. The cherry on the top of this story is that Dr Boone is not even a knee Doctor, he is a foot and ankle Doctor. He did not tell me, I found this out on my own. No wonder he could not do my surgery. He could have at least sent me to one of the other Doctors with in this practice that could do what I needed.

I have been to Raleigh Orthopedic Clinic many times over the last year since I broke my ankle & had a metal plate put it, ruptured 2 discs & had really bad tendonitis in my wrist. For the most part I'd been satisfied even though I would sometimes be left waiting in my exam room for a VERY long time after my set appt time, at least 30-40 mins at times, if not more. The results, however, from my ankle doctor (Dr. Boone) and the hand doctor (Andrews) were so excellent I have not gone anywhere else. However, with my most recent cervical disc herniation the care has been very substandard, in my opinion. When this first happened I was in an incredible amount of pain but the PA, Wendy Christy, would not give me ANY pain meds. I have barely had 3 refills over the last yr, records would show that there was no way at all I could have been abusing them. I felt abandoned and helpless, in so much pain and being made to feel like I was a druggie. The PA also acted accusatory, I'm in tons of pain & I have no idea how my spine has deteriorated like it has, I am very healthy otherwise and very 'in shape', she acted as though it was my fault. Questions like, "Well, are you at a computer all day?" well Yeah, I have to make a living. Have you been going to PT? asking as if I hadn't. I said, yes as much as my full-time job will allow, but I work out every day. I was so irate words cannot describe. Then when I got an MRI showing a herniated disc then suddenly pain pills were ok, 2 weeks later! Ok, so they're going to call them in, 10 days later they R still not called in even though I called them back promptly when they requested my pharmacy's number. Seems I can't get them to do anything! The pain mgmt clinic was to call me over 2 wks ago and still NOTHING. It is the holidays but that should not matter, people still need care. They should do what they say they're going to do. Dr. Mikles is probably great if you can ever get in 2 see him but I'm going elsewhere after this experience.

Pros: I'm sure the doctors are some in the best of town

Cons: long waits for everything.

★★★★★

The Clinic was established decades ago by the best orthopaedic surgeons in the area. With their background, the clinic has has their choice of the best and brightest surgeons when they finish their education in this area of outstanding medical schools like the University of North Carolina, Duke University, and Wake Forest University.....some of the finest medical schools in the country.
In addition to their private practice, with specialist in every area of orthopaedic medicine, the clinic provides services to many of the college athletic programs, as well as professional teams such as the Carolina Hurricaines.
Having been a college basketball player with a long relationship with doctors at the clinic, I feel confident that Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is as excellent practice in sports, joint, and neurological problems that you will find anywhere.

I have had to go to OTHER ortho docs in the city and glad I finally told to get to Raleigh Orthopaedics. I have now seen a couple of their docs. Happy with each of them. I had to be worked in on both occassions because I called at the last minute, but it was worth the wait. Staff friendly at front desk and in back office. Docs talked to you, not at you. Thank you Guys!!!

Pros: Thumbs UP!! Staff Awesome, Docs paid attention to my questions !

Cons: Only because you are making me pick one......parking was a little tough one visit to find
