First off I have been with this company for 6 years. and in that 6 yrs I have seen over 6 doctors and cant even say how many nurses they have went through.. they are disorganized..So now new doctor has bought the place, (cant even call him a doc) my last visit was 3/2011... the new doctor is rude has no bed side manner, thought my diagnoses was bogus with out reading my chart. He is a pain specialist if he dont believe in chronic pain he should not be there, he was the biggest jerk to me I have never had a doctor treat me as he did. I hope he invested all his money into that place, because he wont last long before he drowns:) that place is a joke... and yes on the pill count very random sometimes 2x month then try to trick you into thinking you have a dirty U.A Which was a lie.. He needs to learn English better too, cant understand a word he says and I asked a question about the difference in the meds he wanted to change he didn't know the answer?? I thought this is my chance Im getting the hell out of here..... it took 6 years to get the meds right so I didn't suffer so great, and to have this jerk come in and say he was taking all meds away and he will treat with what he thinks, he has a ego problem.... get a life you jerk and your in the wrong profession if this is how they are treated where u come from. remember??? this is U,S.A and proud of it.....

I don't even know where to start. Reading these posts makes me wish I had come here 3 years ago! I have seen many doctors in the clinic along with NP and PA. I have to explain my story over and over each time. I have had numerous injections with no relief. I have followed their "rules" and have always been a good patient. Never called for an early refill, never had a dirty UA, always there for pill count. Whatever they asked me to do I did. In January I refused an injection when I found it be over $500 out of pocket. They have hounded me over and over with phone calls and letters and at appointments. Well since there is nothing more for the doctor my care has been transferred to the PA who wants to cut my meds. The same meds I have been taking for 3 years that finally gave my life back. I was in so much pain I couldnt do anything. Now I work full time and do sports with my children. When I cried the PA said I needed psychotherapy!! I am searching for a new provider. I just dont understand why if you refuse to have an injection they just give up on you and want to take away your meds??? Wouldn't you want to find something that works??? For 3 years I have spent thousands of dollars on treatment that they recommended and now there is nothing else so they are not going to give me meds? I would not recommend going to this clinic. The main doctor is under investigation and seems like staff keep disappearing and even the other day a new MA was taking my blood pressure and I wished him luck and he shook his head no. He said he was leaving this sinking ship. Sad to see a good clinic go so downhill.

I also forgot to add that they call you in for pill counts and UA where you see the medical assistant and they charge my insurance $500!!! They charge for 12 different lab tests and the company they send the urine to does their own test and charge for that as well. I have complained to my insurance company but nothing has come out of it yet!!!

I was a patient at this clinic for 3 months, but now my family doctor is writing for my prescription. Dr McCluskey, the head of this clinic, is only interested in doing procedures on every patients who comes through here. I'm not sure if he knows how to treat with pain medications. And I also heard from several patients there that he had botched many procedures and surgeries. I went onto the Oregon Board of Medical Examiner web site the other day and found out Dr McCluskey is on probation. I would not recommend anyone to this clinic.

This place is awful! I have been going to "dr. Mc.Cluskey" for three months now too. I ended up going back to my PCP for my meds as well. I was SO stressed out by going here I can't tell you what a relief it is to be free of them! Let me first say that I am a good patient. I do what I am told, take my med.s as prescribed and never ask for more pills or early refills.

These people are running some sort of injection boot camp! They keep pushing for injections, even though I am not a candidate for them (my pain is too wide spread), yet they try desperatly each and every month to get me to have injections, when I refused, they give me another kind of pill! If you argue or protest in any way, look out because your next prescripion will be less than the one before! Some sort of sick punishment for asking questions I guess. All I know is that I can't say a word to the nurses or else I won't have enough med.s to make it through the month.

These people of all should know how dangerous it is to go without narcotic pain med.s when you've been on them for a long period of time, yet they let me go for two weeks without anything but a three day supply (that my husband had to yell and scream for to another doc in the building who was on call).

They apparently don't like to fill out the paperwork for the insurance company too, or they convieniently "lose" paperwork, then act like it's your fault and delay the prescriptions being refilled.

I have yet to run into a compassionate soul at this business. We of all people need some compassion and understanding, not surprise drug tests and random pill counts. Yes people, I said random pill counts. This place feels that they need to keep you "in check" by calling you and giving you 24 hr. notice to run in and pee in a cup and/or bring your pills so that they can count them and make sure you're not taking too many now. They also require you to come in for an office visit each and every month (at the cost of anywhere between $1250 to $650 per visit) just to collect your prescriptions. To me that is an insurance scam. I will be sure to call them next to let them know that I've never even seen a doctor in all this time, yet they've paid $1250 for me to visit with a nurse for 15 minutes (while she clock watched the entire time).

I tried to make an appointment with this elusive Dr. McCluskey and was told that the ONLY time you can see the doc is during surgery. I also noticed that my pill bottles now say DR. in front of the nurse who prescribed the meds. for me. They change my med.s monthly , willy nilly. When I complained they snatched away some of my pain medicine. When I kiss their butt, I get a few back. What sort of place are these people running? If you know of ANYONE else you can go to for your pain med. needs, go there instead of this hell hole?

I have been to many doctors offices but this is the first one that doesn't schedule for a month or more out! You have to call to schedule your next appointment. They also have a high turnover of staff including physicians. Being there makes me a little uneasy - kind of like they are shutting down business anytime! But they have helped me with medications that my internist wouldn't try for fibromyalgia. There are a lot of patients there that are really suffering. I hope they are being helped as I am - but I wouldn't' necessarily refer anyone to this clinic.

Message from Edward A. Mccluskey, MD

I have read the entries currently posted. It is disappointing to see that these patients had a bad experience here. Pain Relief Specialists Northwest has 5 physicians, all specialty trained in Pain Medicine. We practice the multi-disciplinary approach to pain treatment. This includes medications of all sorts; various injections with x-ray guidance; physical therapy modalities; psycho-social counseling; and spiritual support. We have a specialty interest in spinal disorders as well as nerve pain such as shingles, cancer pain and vertebral fractures.

We do have a team approach, with physician assistants and nurse practitioners performing front line office visits after the treatment plan is formulated.

Fortunately, we are helping many people who have been suffering for some time.

Relieve Pain, Restore Function, and Renew Spirit - That's what we do best!
