Dr Camilon is one of the sweetest doctors I have ever met. He grasped my husbands hand with both his hands to tell him that the ear surgery went well. He saved my daughter from hearing aids!! My daughter was misdiagnosed by 2 other ENTs that said she had permanent sensorineural hearing loss that could NOT be fixed! Those doctors sent us to many specialists and hospital tests. We were heartbroken so we went to Dr Camilon for a second opinion. He looked at those same audiogram results and reassured us that he has seen many of these audiograms 'clear up' once the adenoids and ear fluid is removed. Two weeks after ear surgery the new audiogram revealed almost perfect hearing - both conductive and sensorinueral ! With tears of joy and relief, I say please consider Dr Camilon.

Dr. Camilon did an excellent job of diagnosing and removing polyps from my 3-year old daughter's ethnoid sinuses, preventing recurring infection during her treatment for Leukemia. She is now an 18-year-old survivor, thanks in no small part to Dr. Camilon's work. Two years later, he removed polyps from my ethnoid sinuses - relieving lifelong misery for me. Doctor Camilon listens, takes his time, and has been nothing short of excellent as a physician.

Dr. Camilon performed surgery on my 10 month old daughter that went extremely well. He is not an overly talkative person, but one that listened well, answered well and performed well.

My criteria for picking a good surgeon would have not required a warm man, just experience and knowledge. However, just to give another maybe "less common" side of him, I recall him proactively embracing me with a smile after surgery.

Second opinion appointment. I guess I am looking for a doctor that knows their stuff and talks to me and not AT me. I found that with Dr Camilon. I am writing this review prior to surgery because he took his time to answer my questions and he was matter-of-fact. My daughter was seen two years ago by another physician who was ready to operate without giving me any information (or I didnt know what questions to ask--and his staff was unwilling to help answer questions regarding insurance and surgery) but what I truly admire about Dr C is that he gave me information that dealt with the HEALTH of my daughter and ithe implications of her condition that a parent just wouldnt know. Kuddos to the Dr thus far and I will post another review after surgery.

He mutilated my son's ear without discussing the more invasive procedure with us in advance. My son's pain was POORLY managed with conflicting medical advice given. Recovery was much longer and more complicated than Dr. Camilon had disclosed. Furthermore, the procedure and surgery has to be repeated because my son got a cold 3 months later, and according to Dr. Camilon, this caused the repair to go bad. Needless to say, we have left this doctor, who's poor bed-side manner and egotistical attitude has left my child in this situation.
I wanted a second opinion within CHOC. Dr. Camilon would not transfer the paperwork so I had to pay $25 to have the records faxed to me (not copied or mailed).
What is very sad, is that I have now heard similar stories from 3 other families at my son's school!! How is this acceptable?
I am happy to say that we have now found an entire group of professional, compassionate and competent ENT doctors that we are thrilled to have. I just wish I went there sooner.

I am very happy with this doctor and appreciate his efficiency. He has never refused to see my daughter with her many last-minute ear infection appointments. His staff is very warm and professional. The office visit does go quickly, so you need to be assertive with your questions. I feel very fortunate that my daughter is under his care.

All the bad reviews you read have to do with Dr. Camilon's lack of warm and fuzzy bed side manner! If you do your homework, you will find that he is amongst the best Pediatric ENT's in California and is VERY popular! He also see's allot of less fortunate children who are a part of the welfare system. So in regards to a comment saying he is in this for the money - you are WRONG! He accepts more than just PPO patients. Your job as a parent is to ask questions - so speak up! Dr. Camilon can appear intimidating for his small stature and you may be taken back by his lack character. However, both my children see him frequently and if you actually talk to him, he does have a personality! You have to understand his culture also. You really have to ask yourself whether having a social butterfly for a Doctor matters more to you than having a Doctor who knows what he is doing, does it well and is recognized for it!!! This is your child??s life we are talking about, not a car! So choose wisely.

So he is not warm and fuzzy. Big Deal. I have had all 3 of my children visit this fine man. I would have given him 5 stars but he is not fuzzy. He is very popular and the waiting room is just that, a waiting room. Plan to wait. I found him to be the right guy for the job if your child has ear problems. He knows his stuff!

Dr. Camilon has no bed-side manners. We went in to his office he says hearing test and CAT Scan and we are sent away. We go for hearing test and Audiologist confirms my daughter has 36% hearing loss in one ear, and it is nerve damage and says a hearing aid will not help. We get CAT Scan, Dr Camilons office never calls us to tell us what is up with the results. I call them they say she has hearing loss and needs a hearing aid. I try to ask them how will that help when the audiologist said it won't and all I get is she needs a hearing aid. We are trying to get a hearing aid for her now and Audiologist is sending her records free of charge. They said they will send them out tonight and I will have them tomorrow. Camilons office says I need to pay them $15 to get her records. It is all about the money, not the kids. How can I be convinced otherwise?????

Terrible bed-side manners. Apparently they don't teach class in medical school. We waited for about 20 minutes in the waiting room, which is fine. But when we actually went in we waited another 10 minutes, my child started to get fussy so my wife walked out of the room to walk him around-this nurse tells her "No, you can't come out here!", which is fine, but the way she jumped on her was not very friendly. Then, when the Dr. came in he looked at our child for about 5 minutes and said that he needed surgery and moved us along to go sign forms. This is not the way I am going to look out for the interest of my 3 month old child. As his father, I owe him to have asked questions and get an understanding of what it is that is going to happen, what the pros and cons are and is there any alternatives. Then if something goes wrong, later in life I can, with a clear conscience, explain to my son what happened.

When your child is referred to a surgeon you need the best technician out there. That is what Dr. Camilon is. He gives a precise and accurate diagnosis. He is careful and thoughtful. His demeanor is not warm and fuzzy, but when he is operating on your child you don't need him to be chatty. You need him to be skilled and knowledgable, which he undoubtably is.

He will answer any and all of your questions and will take the time to explain the procedures to you at length. In our case he showed us photos of what our daughter was going to have removed. Not pretty, but educational.

His staff is very efficient and we have found them to be very kind. We have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to see the doctor.
Hope this helps.

DO NOT Listen to these bad reviews! Dr. Camilon knows his stuff. Even if he is a quiet man who cares!!! If you want your child well he is the man for you. ESPECIALLY if you have a special needs child. He really knows how to take care of disabled children. He has operated on my child 3 times as a baby and he is the BEST!

When I arrived, there were two other patients waiting. I asked them what their appointment time was and realized that they were the same as mine. Naturally, this office multiple booked patients so Camilon doesn??t waste his time when there??s a no-show or cancellation. However, if everyone shows up, then patients will have to waste their time and wait. Finally my child gets to go in. Camilon sped through the examination 100 mph. Didn??t provide any explanation and shoved us out the door. I felt like he was more interested in seeing as many patients as possible than providing patient care. My impression of Camilon is a short, rude, and arrogant man with a Filipino accent that was quite difficult to understand. I will not come back to this office or recommend it to anyone. I heard from many people that Dr. Ahuja is a very good pediatric ENT. There are also some good ENT physicians at UCI medical center.

I love Dr. Camilon. He was respectful to me and my children. If a prescription was necessary he prescribed the exact amount necessary to knock out the bug! I've had to have many rounds with previous M.D.s I found him to be caring and precise in his diagnosis and treatment. I think this just proves different doctors for different people. That's the way the world works. There is no one answer for everyone. Not even penicillin!

I would like to be able to be informed when it comes to making decisions about my CHILD'S health. I don't think this is too much to ask. As a mother it is my JOB since last time I checked three-year olds aren't very good at making decisions for themselves. If you go with this doctor, good luck but I REFUSE! Went to his office for multiple ear infections for my three-year old, he ignored me when I asked questions, was short and abrasive. He acted as if I wasn't there. He told me to buy some "over the counter" ointment; come to find out after leaving, it is prescription only....this list goes on and on...I will not go back to his office. I know there are many qualified ENT doctors for children in this area. Unless you are in the mood to be treated like yesterday's garbage, I suggest you find another doctor to care/treat your child.

Vetry respected and talented pediatric ENT. Offers a very conservative approach. But, when surgery is required, you have got the best for your children. Office wait lines are small and an average visit is under 30 minutes. Highly recommend.
