I had lived with fat bags and dark circles under my eyes for at least the last ten years... Dr. Morganroth removed the fat bags and also removed excess skin from upper eyelids. In just a couple of weeks I looked amazingly better and was receiving compliments right and left (although people weren't sure why I was looking so good,)
Years melted off and of course I feel so much better as well! Cannot recommend Dr. M more highly!

Pros: minimal, safe procedures and great results!!

Good if you're a careful consumer. I was referred to Dr. Morganroth for blethoplasty (remove eye bags) and Fraxel (remove wrinkles). He did a great job on the former but the latter was disappointing. I later had it redone by another doctor who demonstrated w/o a doubt that Morganroth had not really done Fraxel repair (the more effective but invasive type) but had instead done Fraxel restore (less effective) - despite assurances that I was paying for Fraxel repair. So just be a knowledgeable consumer - understand what you're getting, what you're paying for, and be careful of the "hard sell" where his staff tries to convince you to spend more - which is not always the best approach.

Pros: clinical expert

Cons: oversells

I have gone to Dr. Morganroth for almost eight years. Originally he corrected a cosmetic procedure that a previous well known S.F. doc really messed up. He not only made the repair beautifully, but dealt with correcting another physicians error. (This was my third try!!!!). All other procedures with Dr. Morganroth have been nothing less than great!!!
People who have problems with his confidence or are looking for someone to have attitude with probably will have a challenge...BUT he is so good that I would recommend looking at your own "stuff" instead of blaming "The Doc"...He is totally totally trustworthy.

Pros: brilliant skilled innovative

Cons: sometimes (but not today!!!!) a long wait

January 13, 2009

I have been seeing Dr. Morganroth for almost 10 years. Five years ago he did Mohs surgery on my nose. He had to excise three times to get good margins, but still delivered an outstanding cosmetic result (and got all the cancer out!).

I have also seen Morganroth for a couple of cosmetic procedures (laser removal of facial blemishes and, 10 days ago, upper and lower blepharoplasty). The first procedure yielded an excellent result. For the second, it will be a month before the full result is seen but, so far so good.

Dr. Morganroth is very confident, authoritative, and abrubt, and some interpret that as arrogance. However, I don't think that's a fair assessment. On my most recent visit, I came prepared with a long-ish list of five questions and two comments for him to address -- yet he spent an appropriate amount of time to answer each one to my complete satisfaction.

Dr. Morganroth may appear to be rushed during his appointments. I would prefer to characterize his time management as "efficient". He doesn't spend time chit-chatting, but he gets the job done and answers any questions if you speak up and ask them. He also strongly encourages you to call his office post-procedure if there are any questions or problems. If you want a buddy to chit-chat with, go elsewhere!

I also suspect that Dr. Morganroth's speed and efficiency are driven by the fact that he is at the pinnacle of his skills and in his peak earning years, and he probably wants to make the most out of his practice before the insurance companies and the federal government have completely trashed the healthcare system in this country (not that we've ever talked politics!).

Finally, wrt the office staff, ease of getting appointments, wait times, etc., I always found them to be good, but I think they have improved to "excellent" in the past year or so since Dr. Morganroth split up with his partner and took sole control of the practice -- presumably as a result of better management.

Pros: Very experienced; outstanding technical skills; reasonably priced cosmetic procedures

Cons: If you need/want a lot of hand-holding and conversation, go elsewhere

October 19, 2008

Over the summer I was diagnosed by my dermatologist with a basal cell carcinoma on my nose. I couldn't believe it because two other doctors told me over the past 8 years that it wasn't anything to worry about. Since the skin cancer might be large, my dermatologist recommended Mohs surgery to remove the skin cancer and gave me the name of three Mohs surgeons including Dr. Morganroth. I really liked Dr. Morganroth during the consultation and he was very kind and confident that he could manage the removal and reconstruction of my nose no matter how big the tumor was. I chose to use another Mohs surgeon because I freaked out when I went to Dr. Morganroth's office and saw a waiting room full of people with large bandages on their faces. I went to another doctor who has a smaller office and was closer to my home -- I was looking for a less hectic office that would focus on me individually. Well, I had miscalculated. My skin cancer was much larger that I thought and when the doctor finished the Mohs he told me that the hole was too big for him to handle and he was having me see a plastic surgeon today. The plastic surgeon told me that I had to go under general the following afternoon and that it would take three hours to attach my forehead to my nose like an elephant trunk. I was in complete shock and was not prepared for such a big surgery. In a panic I called Dr. Morganroth's office for a second opinion and they got me in the same day. Dr. Morganroth saw me immediately and examined my nose. He was great and explained that it wasn't so bad and he could fix my nose under local with a flap and could do it immediately. An hour later, I was on my way home with my nose all sewn up. The stitches were removed a week later and my nose has healed great. I can barely see the scar. I learned a lesson that busy doctors are busy for a reason.

Pros: Competence, great staff

September 30, 2008

Summary: I thought Dr. Morganroth was a bit arrogant, short in answering questions, and the front staff wasn't much help.

Details:
1) The visit took less than 15 minutes and I was charged $233.
2) His answers were one lined answers. I asked how likely a lipoma will return after it's removed and how long would the procedure take. He responded, "It's probable." and "15 minutes".
3) After my visit he gave me my file, told me to bring it up to the front desk to schedule an appointment, and then was gone, but when I went to the front desk they didn't know what to do. They complained how Dr. Morganroth didn't tell them the time of the appointment and for what procedure. I gave them my file and instead of looking into the file to find out my procedure instead they asked me three times. In my previous doctor's visit experiences the doctor usually hands over the file to the staff, tells them approximately when the next appointment should be, and states the procedure for that appointment.
4) The front office staff wasn't really competent or helpful. The first guy I talked to didn't know what to do so another lady helped me. When I asked the lady if my insurance would cover the procedure she gave me a blank look, shrugged her shoulders, and continue to find an available time; literally that is what she did. I asked her again and she said that she didn't know and continued to schedule me for an appointment as if my question was unimportant. I called twice to try to get more information about the procedure and my medical coverage.
5) In the end I wasn't comfortable or confident with Dr. Morganroth and his staff so I decided to cancel my appointment. I told one of his office staff that I decided to use another doctor and didn't want to reschedule she said "Ok fine" and then hung up. Maybe I expected too much, but I thought a lot of things lacked professionalism, common patient/customer services, and competency of knowing what to do.

Pros: Online patient application forms

Cons: See the review

May 24, 2008

I was referred to Dr. Morganroth following a facial procedure I had done with another plastic surgeon. I was very upset with the outcome of my procedure and I was told Dr. Morganroth was an expert and would be able to correct most any error made during plastic surgery. On my first visit, I found Dr. Morganroth to be in a rush and he gave me less than 10-minutes of his time to explain my concern and dissatisfaction I had with my procedure. He came across very arrogant and showed no compassion at all. He tried to sell me procedures that would not have corrected the issue I went to see him about, rather he sent in his assistants to see me on skin care and laser resurfacing, which definitely would not correct my issue.
Needless to say, I do not recommend him and I certainly will not return.

Pros: Able to schedule an appointment with ease

Cons: No care or time from the doctor during your scheduled appointment

I really have to vigorously disagree with the review that tops this list! I had a necessary medical procedure done on my face (7 separate surgeries) that left me with a scar that would frighten children. You have no idea unless you have been there what it feels like to think that you could not venture out. Thanks to Dr. Morganroth, I defy anyone except perhaps a trained dermatologist to see it now! He may not be a warm, fuzzy guy, but give me brilliant , highly skilled man any day instead! I also referred a friend to him for purely cosmetic surgery. Wow! She looks so great and is so pleased! I would trust anyone to him for reconstructive or cosmetic work. Truly--I only wish I could post my own before and after photos here. You would be absolutely amazed.

Pros: Oustanding skill

Cons: None

January 16, 2005

Dr. Morganroth came highly recommended from a number of physicians as an expert in skin cancer and cosmetic surgery. After researching him on the internet, he is one of the pioneers of cosmetic surgery with local anesthesia and one of the busiest facial skin cancer and reconstruction surgeons in the country. I had a wonderful experience during my consultation and found him to be articulate, intelligent, compassionate, and very honest. I plan on having surgery with him when I save my money up.

Pros: Smart, Skilled, Compassionate
