I was scheduled to have knee surgery in California until my husband was recruited to work in Oregon. I brought my MRI report to Dr. Weintraub's office and explained that I had to have cartilage repair surgery. I only saw his physician's assistant (PA) who said per his reading my MRI only showed a meniscal injury (a much more minor problem and an easier surgery). I was relieved to hear this, and the surgery was scheduled. I still only saw the PA when I returned for my pre-op exam. Not until the day of surgery did I see Dr. Weintraub. During the surgery he found that I actually did have cartilage damage in my knee (his PA was wrong in overriding my California doctor 's diagnosis). Dr. Weintraub was then going to do a procedure that I specifically told his PA that I did not want during my prior evaluation, but I was under anesthesia so I could not stop this. Thankfully my husband was present in the waiting room and stopped Dr. Weintraub from doing that procedure before it was too late! After I awoke from anesthesia I learned of this mishap. I then had to recover from surgery in order to go back to my California doctor and have the correct procedure done, thankfully.

Dr Weintraub mended my nevicular, a tiny bone in the hand, many years ago. Everyone I had seen said the break of a nevicular will never heal and I will always have limited use of my hand. Not true. It's still going strong. More recently, I fell while at work and broke my wrist badly. I had to have surgery to install a titanium plate. I had to use a doctor that would take my workers comp insurance. It's never been right. I fell again two months ago re-injurying my wrist. This time I can see Dr. Weintraub. I won't go to anyone else.

I've been seeing Dr. Weintraub since 1991 for a knee problem. Since then, several other orthopedic issues have come up. I haven't been disappointed by him, ever! He has a great manner, is very honest and forthright, which I like. In October 2008, I fell, breaking my wrist and elbow (one on each arm, no less!). I made the mistake of going to a new orthopedist, and was sorry. When the elbow didn't feel better, I decided to see Dr. Weintraub for a second opinion. I'm very glad I did, because it still isn't healed and may take 2 or more months to get there. The other doctor sent me home "healed" after 8 weeks. If you value an honest opinion, Dr. Weintraub is the doctor to see!

Dr. Weintraub is the best, very reliable and optimistic doctor of orthopedic medicine around. He saved my dad's foot more than once, when every other doc in town said "Off with it!" I really admire and thank this doctor and recommend him as well.
