Irina S. Khidekel, MD

Doctor Khidekel has been looking after my only newborn for 2 years. Service is always quick and easy. She answers all our questions, and her office is very organized.
She returns calls quickly, usually within half an hour if the call is on a weekend. Always knows exactly what to do when my child is sick.

Dr. Khidekel is a very experienced and great pediatrician.
All 3 of my children have been going to her since they were little, and she has always been a very trusted doctor. If one of my children is ever feeling sick, Dr. Khidekel will call back almost immediately, and even lets us schedule an immediate appointment on a weekend if necessary.
She cares about children very much and she is very kind. Her assistant Lana is also very organized, and will always find time to schedule an appointment for us.
After 15 years of Dr. Khidekel being our family pediatrician, it is clear that she is the best doctor in San Francisco.

My daughter has been cared by Dr. Khidekel for 3 years. Almost at all times we needed urgent help or advice, doctor would come back to us in a reasonable time. At the real emergency the doctor would contact us promptly even over the weekend. We have changed the pediatrician soon after my daiughter was born and never regretted it. The first pediatrician was so nice and attentive at the first sight, would spend as much time with us at appointments as we wanted. But with virtually no use at all. Only bla-bla, no recommendations whatsoever. Dr. Khidekel is very busy and has a lot of patients in her care and naturally she always in a rush. This is unpleasant a little, but bottom line she is highly professional, knows her field better than other pediatricians and uses both her European and American healthcare backgrounds. At times it is important to consider profilaxis treatments such as probiotics and herbs, vitamin supplements. She uses them effectively and we have benefited a lot from her recommendations. She is selling these products totally legally, but if you prefer you can buy them yourself.
Overall, very reliable, attentive and knowledgeable doctor we trust.

I have been taking my daughter to Doctor Khidekel for over twelve years now. She is a very kind and clear doctor and I find myself shocked at times when she returns calls so expeditiously. I now feel comfortable coming to Doctor Khidekel and trusting her with my child. Responding to the comment about the Gucci shoes, being a good and concise doctor has nothing to do if someone has good style of not (which she does). Doctor Khidekel exemplifies all of the qualities that a good doctor should have and she does it whith style to, not the easiest thing.
The office is quaint and lovely. As soon as we come in, the eloquent secretary Vicky leads us into the waiting room. I find myself shocked with how entertaining this little area is. My daughter has much joy playing with little toys while I settle down and read one of the many magazines the office holds. After just a few minutes, the secretary led us into an examining room. Khidekel already had my child's folder open and was reading the list of shots my daughter needed to have. Everything was quick and precise, and my daughter actually enjoyed the checkup, grabbing one of the many toys from a "treasure box" near the door. Now, I actually look forward to these yearly checkups almost as much as my daughter.

All the positive reviewes that you can find about this doctor here were probably left by her friends she is shoping with :) (all true from the long review, you can scroll up)

You have 3-5 minutes of her time,
You will never hear from her promissed results from analyses
You would not get your records from her if you decide to switch to another doctor, my wife was there 3 times, 1 time the officce was closed...Still no results.The would never return your calls in that case.

Horrible, but it could worse though...

I have been taking my daughter to Dr Khidekel for a year and a half. Now I have a son who is 4 months old and I cannot say enough positive things about the fabulous treatment both my kids have recieved. I never feel rushed, I always get great attention at the office, and they all seem like they genuinely like my kids, and me! They are so kind and sweet, and Dr Khidekel really knows her stuff. She is attentive and listens to everything I have to say, and ALWAYS returns my calls promptly no matter what day it is. Both my babies are sick now but I actually walked away from their office after seeing Dr Khidekel and I was smiling.

She misdiagnosed my child and sent her home with some cold medicine. Symptoms got worse and worse until the amount of ammonia in my daughter's blood built up so high that she had to go to emergency. It never occurred to this doctor to give her a blood test.

She kicks you out of the office. I don't know what my child needs to be going through for her to spend any time with her - dying perhaps? Even then I doubt she will spend more than five minutes on my child or any other child.

We've been seeing Dr. Khidekel for 11 years. Our child was always given great care and attention. All our calls to the office were returned promptly. Thank you Doctor!
As the unnamed reviewer was surprised by previous two good feedbacks - so we were surprised by all the negativity of the 'anonymous". I wonder whether it's the Gucchi stuff that really upset her/him? Word of advise - if there is an emergency: call emergency. As a parent - it's your responsibility. And knowing something about suposatories won't hurt....

My son came two weeks early and I was finishing up a huge project at work so I did not have a pediatrician picked out. A nurse at the hospital recommended Dr. Khidekel and we needed a pediatrician ASAP so we agreed. I should have known something was wrong with her when she did not show up at the hospital the day she was supposed to come but sent someone in her place.

Since then, our experience has been horrible. Not once did I leave the office without feeling rushed. She will not spend more than five minutes on your child (maybe because she's in a hurry to get to the mall to buy more Gucci stilhettoes, which is what she wears to appointments).

Recently, my son fell ill - with fevers, chills and vomiting. We came to see Khidekel, she barely spent five minutes with us as usual and just told us to get Motrin. She said not to worry at all, he just has a virus and that he is fine.All of his symptoms got worse the next day. We had a real emergency. I called the office and told all the symptoms to the receptionist who was to contact the doctor right away. The doctor was contacted but it took her 6 hours to call back. 6 hours!!!!!! My son was not taking any medicine by this point because he was throwing everything up. It didn't even occur to tell her about supositories, which I had no idea about. I should have called emergency but I didn't because I relied on this doctor. HORRIBLE.

I know there are two positive reviews on here but I don't know who wrote them and what they were thinking. Dr. Khidekel does make cute baby sounds and plays with the kid for one minute. So if that's what's important to you, then you can call her great. But being available in an emergency is what's important to me.

She also had one of her assistants bring out a bunch of homeopathic medicine and herbs that they tried to sell. I am not entirely sure this is legal.

I highly reccommend Dr. Khidekel. I trust her completely! She has been my daughter's pediatrician for 8 years (since her birth) and diagnosed a difficult case of pnemonia which was nisdiagnosed over a weekend at the pediatric care clinic.

I have been taking my children there for years, and have been impressed with the warm, caring and professional attitude of Dr. Khidekel. Her receptionist, Lana, is always friendly and kind, and eager to assist.
