I visited Dr. Bitar's office for the first time yesterday for a 4:15 appointment. I've just moved from Brooklyn to NJ and needed to find a new OB/GYN. I walked into the waiting room and the receptionist had the sliding glass doors closed (!) and was not answering even when several people tapped on them. This was something that I had never seen before and could not believe. That alone made me feel like I was shut out and not welcome. For someone newly pregnant it was not a good sign. The waiting room was packed with people obnoxiously talking on their cell phones. Finally, after 20 minutes of just standing there, I was able to speak with a receptionist who gave me all of the new patient paperwork to fill out. 35 minutes later, I was called in to see the doctor and the waiting room went into an uproar. Almost everyone had been there longer than I had. I was told that it was a mistake to call me in and that I would have to go back out and wait. By this time it was 5:15, a full hour after I arrived. I asked how much longer it would be and I was told that they were really behind and that it would be atleast another 45 minutes! I told the aide that I wanted all of my paperwork back immediately and that I was not going to wait 2 hours to see a doctor for an initial consultation. The entire experience in this office was frustrating and pathetic. I would not recommed this doctor and her staff to anyone, in fact, stay away!
