The BEST Doctor I ever Had!
I want to say thanks to Dr. Cherkassky for all her work and help she provide to our family. She helped my father to discover a really dangerous sickness that other doctors can't find out, if we won't have her immediate help who knows how it could end up.
Anytime I need her professional opinion I get one immediately. She is very careful and sensitive to my problems. Any time when I need to reschedule some tests office staffs remind me, sometimes even a few times, because they really care about their patients. I read some negative reviews above and I am not sure if it is really true!
Dr. Cherkassky was my family physician for several years. I had to leave her due to her incompetence. My boyfriend had suggested I see his family doctor and I've been quite satisfied. Dr. Cherkassky is currently seeing my parents. Her knowledge of illnesses is quite small. She diagnosed my father with diabetes without even sending him to a glucose tolerance test. When she prescribed Metformin for him, he got really sick. Since he is not a diabetic (and without evidence from a glucose tolerance test, prescribing diabetic medicine is very idiotic), he could possibly end up in the hospital because of her negligence.
She should be evaluated for her incompetence (who knows what else she prescribed to her other patients and if they ended up in the hospital or worse dead). I would highly suggest to NOT go to this doctor.
Four members of our family were patients of Dr. Marina Cherkassky during 15 years. For all this long time she could not remember our illnesses, medicines and even our names(confused father and son). The last time she refused to prescribe refills of medicines and we had problems every month. Some times we did not receive our medicines for several days. When we, very sick and old persons, expressed our dissatisfaction about this situation, she refused to continue to treat us any more and sent us letter with requirement to find another family doctor. So, our experience shows that Marina Cherkassky is very capricious woman. She doesn't like her patients and does not respect them.
Dr. Marina Cherkassky has been my primary care physician for as long as I have lived in Philadelphia (going on 15 years). She is an excellent doctor with years of experience and has not once let anything having to do with my health slide. If she gets a copy of test results from a specialist that show something potentially problematic, you can expect a call about it. Her knowledge of new treatments and medications available is excellent, but she'll never prescribe you anything you don't need.I read about others waiting long lines and feeling like she's rushing. First of, if you arrive on time for your appointment, the wait time at most is 10 minutes - and that's on a really bad day, usually faster. Second of all, yes she's rushed, but you show me one competent doctor who has enough time to sit and listen to everything every patient (without a medical degree) has to tell her. Be prepared with exactly what's bothering you before you go in, don't expect her to wait while you figure it out.The office is always clean, organized and professional, if somewhat small. The staff is always very helpful and will assist you to the best of their abilities with anything you need, including looking up directions to a specialist's office on the spot. Appointments are easy to squeeze in at any time, especially if you have a pressing need.If you need a well rounded and caring family / primary care physician, look no further. While Dr. Cherkassky doesn't specialize in anything in particular, she has a well established network of specialists she can refer you to.

Ive been going to this doctor for years and I like her.
People who work there are very nice and friendly and try to accommodate your needs.
They accept all kinds of insurance so you dont need to worry about that.
They speak Russian in the office so its especially great for an elder people who have trouble understanding English. They can even call your medical insurance for you to get any necessary information.
Theyre located in the NE Philadelphia and they recently opened a second office in Bucks county. Office hours are great and they always try to squeeze you in even if you dont have an appointment but need doctors help.
After hours an emergency line is always available to you in case you need an immediate assistance. With last years flu shot shortage this office was able to provide all of their patients in need with the vaccinations.
