I have been a patient of Dr. Stesin's for over 8 years. Before Dr. Stesin I had been to many doctors and no one could tell me what was wrong with me. Dr. Stesin was the one who diagnosed me with PSOD. With this diagnosis I was able to get the symptoms under control and they have remained so the whole time I have been under his care. I find his office staff very friendly and helpful and I do not wait long at all for my appointments. I have recommended Dr. Stesin to several family members and friends and they all agree that Dr. Stesin is a great doctor.

I'm a diabetic and I've been seeing Dr.Mark Stesin for 11 years. During that time he has helped me keep my diabetes under control and to stay healthy. He's referred me to several high quality specialists over the years that I'm extremely satisfied with. Dr. Stesin spends ample time with me every visit (I see him every 3 - 4 months) and always answers my questions clearly and completely.
His office staff have been more than helpful with perscriptions and various forms and paperwork requests. His nurse has spent tons of time on the phone with me over the years and I appreciate her help.
I would recommend Dr. Stesin to any diabetic wanting to get his/her diabetes and health under control

I can not express how fortunate I am to have been connected to Dr. Stesin. Since my first visit with him 8 months ago, he has helped correct an medical problem that others had only made worse with their treatment. He took the time to listen to my concerns and was excellent about making sure I understood the treatment and any concerns I should have.

In addition, Dr. Stesin has taken interest in other medical conditions I have been troubled with. He listened to my problems and genuinely cared that I get the best outcome. He asked about how I felt about my current treatments from other physicians and how the treatments were going.

On two separate occasions where I was frustrated with my current care from other physicians he had made suggestions of alternative doctors I could see if I wanted and called them personally so that I could be seen by them when their schedules did not allow for appointments for months. In both cases, my scheduled appointments went from being no less than two and half months out to merely two weeks out.

I can sum up my experience with him quite simply. He cares. He does not only interest himself with his specific task at had, but cares about how I am doing as a whole. He has gone WAY beyond his necessary scope to insure I am ok and healthy. He has a genuine interest in my health. I have found that to be a more rare occurrence in todays health care.

I can not recommend him enough. You would be lucky to be under his care.

I felt that Dr. Stesin was a "churn and burn" doctor trying to move patients through his clinic. He was very hurried during all the appointments I had with him. When scheduling or answering questions, his office staff is unprofessional at best.

My initial impressions of Dr. Stesin were good. He got me off generic thyroid medication and also got my TSH down to where I felt better. However, more than a year into my treatment, I told him that I had learned from another provider than I was gluten-sensitive. He nodded and said that this was more frequent in patients with my condition. I was stunned. I had symptoms for years, did not know what caused them, and had no idea who to turn to. I also learned on my own that a significantly large number of Hashimoto's patients have digestion problems, which I am treating through my integrative pharmacist. But I could have gotten all of this under control earlier if Dr. Stesin had been more forthcoming about conditions related to Hashimoto's. However, the huge issue I have difficulty getting past is this: Dr. Stesin was aware that I suffered painful, often debilitating vulvodynia. Eventually, I was diagnosed with lichen sclerosis, a condition that shows up in 20 to 50 percent (depending on whose research you read) of Hashimoto's patients. It is generally known among researchers this is far more common than in the general population of women. I can barely stand to think of the years of I suffered with this, Dr. Stesin knew, and never commented on the connection that would have put me on a path to an accurate diagnosis and treatment. I have lost years of income and normal living because of this.

Is it too much to ask that a doctor inform patients of related conditions, particularly where autoimmunity is involved, and to keep an eye open for symptoms of these conditions? You bet it's not--I don't pay a doctor to spend years in pain, do my own research, self-diagnose, and then get confirmation from another doctor.

I have nothing but compliments about the Dr. Himself, but his office staff is another matter. Dr. Stesin spent as much time with me as I needed and explained my issues very clearly. He accommodated my schedule for scheduling and the location of tests. He also has a very kind demeanor. His staff on the other hand is dismissive and give you the feeling that they are going out of their way to help you whenever you ask them a question. Very discourteous and impatient. He should replace them all from the business mgr. down to reception. I would give the best star rating to the Doc, but the office lowers it.

I think doctor Stesin is fantastic! He is very caring and listens to everything I have to say. When no one else could figure out what was going on with me, Dr. Stesin persisted and did. I have been seeing him for a few years now and have recently developed some additional complications. Dr. Stesin made calls personally so I could get in to see two different specialists that had a two month waiting list.

His assistant has always been very kind and pleasant to deal with as well.

He had no personality and I found that he did not really listen to me... He'd write down things that I didn't even tell him - I'd correct him, but the next visit he'd say the same things over again and I'd once again correct him. He was treating me for hyperthyroidism. His office staff was the worst I've even dealt with - not at all helpful. No one in that office smiled. In addition, they were often behind schedule and I'd be kept waiting. I tried to get in touch with him after I had become hypothyroid after receiving radioactive iodine twice. I was suicidal and in crisis, but couldn't get an appointment even on an emergency basis. Although he's supposed to be top notch in his field, I was very disappointed with him. I switched over to the endocrinologists at the University of MN.

I saw Dr. Stesin twice and found him mediocre at best. He did not listen to me. When medications did not work as hoped, his solution was to raise dosage only. In addition, it it is futile to try to discuss new symptoms with him. I would describe him as smug, but he is warm compared to his office staff. They must relate much better to the physicians who have nominated him for "best of" in a local magazine. Treatment provided to me as a patient was lacking. , and I receive better care from my primary care physician.

I think Dr. Stesin is great but once you get through the initial phase of treatment he fails to explore new options for optimal health. The entire staff fades into an apathetic attitude... here is your perscription ... move on. They are more intersted in keeping a schedule than providing complete care. When I stopped absorbing my perscription properly they were empathetic but offered no solution.. higher dosage and you are out the door but they gladly sign you up for multiple expensive appointments. It was my own sister (also a physiacian) offered suggestions. I just don't see what's so special about this specialist.

The staff is completely unhelpful. Forget something ....don't count on them to offer assistance by looking it up on your chart.. but you can count on a persal responsibility lecture.. they are more worried about there own skin than assiting someone. They cost more and offer less.

A couple of years ago the other doctors in the Twin Cities selected Dr. Stesin as the endocrinologist they would see if they needed an endocrinologist. He has been my doctor for a number of years, and I would agree Dr. Stesin is very knowledgeable, informative and caring. If I did not feel comfortable with him I would not have stayed with him for this long.
