Terrible Dentist. He caused my husband and I so much irreversible damage that there is no way he did not recognize the damage he was causing. He tried pulling my husbands toothe out so hard and carelessly that the utensil flew out o his mouth and cut his cheek. I was watching and we both screamed. Dr. Dash said,"You wanted me to be quick". A month later my husband went to the hospital with ear pain and found out his jaw had been recently fractured. I thought my extraction had gone well but another half of my tooth began to emerge. I can't believe his nurses do not report him; they should also loose their licenses. When I report him to MEDICARE I will be reporting them too. I know of several cases were he has left his patients unfinished because they were screaming. I am a part of a parents group and one day I mentioned his name and every one had a horror story. Either they or someone they knew had seen this DMD. It is unbelievable that so many people would no about his terrible practices and still he has more victims. YES I MEAN VICTIMS.
I was lucky to be referred to a surgeon who was able to finish the procedure
Please take this warning seriously.

I am very pleased with my experience with Dr.Dash. I am on Medicaid and I was treated with respect and was seen in his office within a week of scheduling my appt. When I went to my first appt I explained to the doctor that I want ALL my teeth removed and that my insurance would lapse in 4 days and he moved other patients around in order to get me back into his office for the surgery before my insurance lapsed. I had the surgery yesterday and today I have minimal swelling and hardly no pain. I am very, very happy with my experience and would definitely recommend Dr.Dash. I do have to say that he does not have a great personality. He is not mean by far but he is also very "dry". Other than the fact that he wasnt jumping up and down and telling jokes, he treated me great!

Dr. Dash is by far the best Oral Surgeon ever! Don't let the negative reviews scare you aware from the best. I had two wisdom teeth extracted, and I must say it was the best experience ever. He was so fast that it was over before it begun. He has the best personality to keep you calm and relaxed.

I had two wisdom teeth extracted 9 years ago, and the experience was great too. I remember Dr. Dash being funny, no pain and very fast.

Having any teeth removed is a scary experience, so you want to go to someone who has knowledge and the skills to make your experience wonderful.

Good Luck

We started out just a simple molar extraction we talked about it and I mentioned I wanted to get my discolored fang removed as well and he said ok, scheduled appointment- he forgot I wanted 2 molars and one fang and to be put under. Rescheduled 2 was later, when I came in he said this is my first time doing anesthesia and put me under , then he said ok 4 teeth and I said no three and he was "you seem confused" he pointed next to my black gang and said your crown broke I said no there's nothing in there no root they took it. He IGNORED ME On that, on another note I'm highly allergic to metal and once I started to heal I noticed the metal showing and I have been to the ER Over and over because he is "on vacation" Thanks for the metal partial I can't move my head now with out blacking out
If you want someone to talk to if you feel like sueing him as well contact me ShanaMowod@yahoo

Worst experience ever that landed me 4 days in hospital nightmare that could have killed me and the many trips to his office before E.R and after my procedure he would not listen to me or fully check my mouth out. DON'T ever go to him. I want to sue him for the missed work, pain and suffering and medical bills from hospital stay. Should have left when I heard the lady screaming from the waiting room.

Most of the people on this page are right he has terrible manners to call himself a professional. My dentist sent me there for some work the biggest mistake of my life. He never even took xrays of my mouth to see if the work recommended was needed or not. I have been living a total nightmare since my last visit there. I have lost alot of weight in a short period of time because I can no longer eat properly. Swallowing liquid is even painful my life has been ruined. Be smart do not go there. And from my experience it does not matter if you are on medicad or paying cash you are still not treated with respect. He is unethical. I am or was in the healhcare field until this all took place and I would have been fired if I acted like him. Thoose people that have suggested that his license needs to be revoked are right so things like this do not have to happen to anyone else.

Dr. Dash is a great oral surgeon, I went there a month ago had 6 teeth pulled, then went today had 7. I was put under never felt a bit or pain, and I have a low tolerance. He reminds me of what an uncle might act like. I am on medicad, and treated me with the utmost respect. I like him would take my kids or refer him to others. Thanks to him, and his staff for making a other wise bad experience into a great one. considering what the procediure was.

DR. Marvin Dash has got to be the worst dentist in the world. He is so rude and ignorate. When you leave you are in more pain then you were before you went there. He treats people like trash. He should not have his license. I want to sue the hell out of him

I used to work there and I wish I could figure out how to have his license revoked. Dr. Dash doesn't wash his hands when he enters your room or after he uses the bathroom. Trust me, never once have we replaced the soap in the patients rooms.

He doesn't wait for you to get numb, most patients using iv sedation scream and kick during their procedures and have to be held down by more than one staff member.

He has the lab assistants wash, sterilize and reuse suture needles, which you aren't supposed to do. He also uses 1 IV sedation bag for 2-4 patients. They aren't given enough medicine, which is why he instructs the staff to lock the door to the back as the patient screams and kicks.

He sees 95% welfare patients that don't have any other options for oral surgeons and go to him for vicodin and then skip out on their surgeries only to come back a week later for more vicodin. He is only in this for the money but if you have regular insurance or pay cash, he moves you to the front of the line and treats you like you are his best friend. Everyone else is treated like dirt. If you have options, don't go here.

Dr. Dash is a mess. I finally get in to see him and he said that he was going to remove one tooth with this visit. He asked me to lay back to inject the numbing medication and did not warm me that four shots were coming. I was only expecting one in the back of my mouth. Anyway on the 3rd injection I started to show some discomfort and he specifically said quote "Who taught you how to scream like that? Suck it up and take the pain." He then sent me out to the waiting room for 10 minutes so the medicine would kick in. After 10 minutes had passed my mouth was in no way numb enough to get a tooth pulled. From his prior ignorance I knew he would not give me more medication. So I decided not to do it and ran for the elevator. I knew this man was trouble when he came in the room. I was not about to let me hurt me which seems like it was on his mind to do.

FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU WANT TREATED KINDLY AND RESPECTED DURING YOUR PROCEDURE.

I've had 2 teeth pulled by Dr. Dash over the years. In both cases the pain after extraction was nothing compared to the pain I endured before. In both cases I received the Novacaine shots to the roof of the mouth -which are by far the worst part. However, there really isn't much any doctor can do to make those shots less painful-you just got to grin and bare it. I think what we are seeing in these mixed reviews is the individual's threshold for pain. You should expect pain, be prepared to work through it and not get dramatic about it. My pain was completely gone within 24 hours after seeing Dr. Dash. I hope to never need his services agin, but if I do I will be back.

I just had my experience with Dr Dash and I am not even going back for the follow up appointment. He is the worst oral surgeon out there. I am thinking of actually suing him for the pain and suffering he put me through. He is a careless dentist, I should have known from the screams coming from the next door patient to leave. I am looking into turning him into the medical board. I would not recommend sending my worst enemy to him. He is a torturer and a butcher. It's been 4 days since my procedure and I still cannot eat nor move my jaw.

My best friend took her mother to this so called reputable oral surgeon and although I wasn't there to witness the event, I am scarred for life just thinking about their experience and imagining what this poor woman was forced to endure.

Because of her age, she was not lucky enough to be able to receive any anesthesia other than novacaine. Apparently, the other bad reviews on this page are true because he did not wait for the novacaine to take effect before performing the extracture of her teeth and literally tortured her with excrutiating pain despite all her screaming and kicking attempts to get him to stop. I could go on and on, but even this much is making me sick to my stomach thinking about it all over again.

The only reason anyone would possibly have anything good to say about this guy is if they aren't a medicaid patient!

HE TREATS MEDICAID PATIENTS LIKE SH***T AND PURPOSELY TORTURES THEM, AS IF THEIR SCREAMS GIVE HIM PLEASURE!

SOMEONE NEEDS TO SECRETLY VIDEO TAPE HIM AND POST IT ON THE INTERNET FOR THE WORLD TO SEE!

He must be a f***ckng lunatic!

IF YOU NEED AN ORAL SURGEON, FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!

Let me tell you, I am thinking about seeking professional counseling after the experiences I had as a patient of Dr. Dash's. I CANNOT BELIEVE that ANYONE had ANYTHING positive to say as a patient of this man. The man came in the room, shot the roof of my mouth with Novocaine 3 times without numbing with a topical agent first (which is standard practice, injections in the roof of the mouth are excruciating). He then came back in 3 Minutes (Novocaine takes at least 10-15 to get the site completely numb) and then pulled 2 of my teeth while I cried and begged him to stop. He could have cared less. If I could sue this man, I would. I will never recommend him to anyone. I had to see this man TWICE in one month for extractions and it was the most traumatic experience of my life. I felt as if he had something personally against me for me to receive such deplorable treatment. Maybe he just doesn't like himself. Who knows? What an awful experience,

Getting a tooth pulled is not a pleasant experience to say the least, but Dr. Dash and his staff made the experience as good as it could get. The staff was very efficient and well mannered, and knowledgable. Dr. Dash, himself, seems to be a very down to earth man with a non-chalant attitude, which ultimately made the experience less stressful, as he made jokes throughout the procedure. After some research, I learned that he is the cheif of surgery for the oral surgery dept at West Penn, so it's clear he knows his stuff. Recommended for anyone needing this kind of dental work..

Considering he is the only oral surgeon in the pittsburgh area who will take medicaid, some people have no other option but to visit him. Yes, he will see you in emergency situations, but the level of care is HORRIBLE. I had a tooth pulled, the novacaine had not taken effect, and I begged him to stop as tears ran down my face, he told me just to relax and refused to stop. So I felt the whole thing. Then he gave me a guaze pad, and left the room. I left the office with blood dripping down my face and had to use the restroom outside because I got sick to my stomach. The office staff was not much better. Rude and ignorant is how I would describe them. If you have other insurance the medicaid, I would HIGHLY recommend you seek a dfferent oral surgeon!

Dr. Dash is an excellent oral surgeon. He is nice, funny, and smart. If you are in pain or have an emergency, he makes room for you. They held the office open the first time I went there because someone had called to say they were running late, it's that kind of place. Another plus is that he takes many different kinds of insurance. Dr. Dash removed all of wisdom teeth yesterday without a hitch. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Dash is a wonderful doctor. Patients are seen fairly quickly - especially in an emergency case. Compassion is one of Dr. Dash's best qualities. His work is extremely proficient and makes patient comfort a priority. My personal experience with Dr. Dash was completely satisfactory and will definately use his services again should the need arise. The staff is very friendly and compassionate. The office decor is lovely and comforting as well. The expenses associated with dental treatment are reasonable and they're willing to work with you to make payment arrangements if necessary. One nice service offerred by Dr. Dash is an "in-house" prescription service - meaning you can get any prescribed medications written at your appointment right there in the office rather than going to a pharmacy. I would definately recommend Dr. Dash for dental care/surgery.

PROS: Excellent, caring and compassionate dentist/surgeon.
CONS: Although affordable - cost can be high depending on care required.
