I think service is as important as Dr's expertise. Thanks for saving me the aggravation you had to go through. It looks like Ms. Shannon is in need of behavioral therapy. Thanks to you all, including the positive rating reviews.

Sorry to say this doctor's policies and office staff make it impossible to see her. To begin with, it takes a long time to schedule an appointment. After waiting a month to see her, I drove 45 minutes in a torrential rain storm to get there. Parking is difficult in the area but the rain made it twice as difficult. As a result, I was 15 minutes late. 15 minutes! And they wouldn't see me. The receptionist was very difficult.

If you ask me, a doctor without compassion is not a doctor worth seeing. It would be one thing if I was late all the time or if I was seriously late, like an hour or even a half hour. But 15 minutes? And, knowing the weather outside and how long it takes to get an appointment?

I left their office, called my old dermatologist and got an appointment to see him the next day. I'm back with him. He's a quality doctor, who will see you on short notice and will not toss you out if you're a few minutes late. And I never wait more than 15 minutes in his office to see him, so Dr. Griffin's excuse that they need to be strict so they can see you promptly really doesn't wash.

After reading several of these negative reviews, I find it difficult to believe they are speaking about the same office I have been going to for several years. I am an RN, and did a great deal of research before finding Dr. Griffin. She is a first rate dermatologist, and I find her staff to be just as wonderful as she is. I have worked in a doctor's office, and really feel that people don't understand how an office needs to be run. If doctors fit in every patient that called and wanted to be seen the same day, you would be waiting HOURS to be seen. If you arrive an hour late, that throws off all of the other patients, and then everyone has to wait longer than planned. Listen, this is LA-you know what traffic is like-leave yourself plenty of time to get there. I live almost an hour away and always manage to get to my appointment on time. If I call and can't get an appointment, I wait for an available time. Dr. Griffin is worth the wait. Shannon and everyone else in the office have never been anything other than warm, friendly and understanding. I think they run a fabulous office, and I feel that anyone who sees Dr. Griffin will get exceptional care. I have seen many dermatologists over the years, and think she is one of the very best I have ever seen.

I don't understand the negative reivews. I have been to Dr. Griffin twice, 4 years apart, and find her to be exceptional. She is thorough, actually listened to me and did not condescend when I mentioned that I read about my condition online (most doctors disdain this), treated me, was pleasant, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions without rushing through. I completely appreciate the fact that she is not late as I can't stand waiting for people who are late myself. Why this is a negative is beyond me. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Amazing Doctor! Dr. Griffin really knows her stuff! Cleared up my situation instantly! I saw instant results and my treatment didn't break the bank! Dr. Griffin is incredibly knowledgeable, polite and professional with wonderful staff and amazing office team! Her office manager even sent me some samples that weren't even scheduled to come in for a few weeks and she completely remembered and sent them to me once they came in! What a fantastic lady! Thank you Dr. Griffin and your team of professionals!

I'd like to say that I had an amazing experience w/ Dr. Griffin, in fact I'd like to say that I had a chance to actually meet her. Unfortunately Shannon turned me off from even going to the office. She's combative and aggressive w/ a smile. I saw that Shannon made an entry here and it's funny because most of the complaints made here about her are not because she runs a tight ship, what people are saying is that she is rude and aggressive. As I said in my title, Dr. Griffin must love that about her. It is Dr. G's office and I am damn sure she understands quite well how Shannon treats people, so that makes me think twice about Dr. G as well. Oh well, the search continues, think I'll try Dr. Rand - Thanks Shannon :)

I like Dr. Griffin. She's a very no nonsense doctor who knows what she's doing. She explains everything and makes solid recommendations. Her staff, on the other hand, is HORRIBLE. They are rude, cold and not at all accommodating. Shannon is the worst. I've never been treated more poorly at a doctor's office. The fact that she felt the need to go on here and write her own review defending herself says enough. I would consider switching doctors to not have to deal with her. And no, it is not because of the no-late policy. It's because she is rude, aggressive and an overall unpleasant person. I'm surprised that with all the negative reviews calling her out by name, she still has a job.

Dr Griffin, Shannon and staff are wonderful. Both my teenage son and I are patients of Dr Griffin. I have NEVER had to wait more than 5 minutes and she has been my doctor for a number of years. Unlike other celebrity dermatologists in the Los Angeles that
I have seen (Dr Shamban and Dr Bussell), who only want you to see their nurse or physician Assistant, Dr Griffin takes time with you and does not rush. The office is very efficient and I am disturbed by the angry patients that have commented. They seem to be from mostly from the same irate, egocentric individual using a different name each time. Don't bother reading them, they are so wrong. Please allow a week or so when you make your appointment. Because she uses no PA's or nurses in her place, she can only see so many people a day. I would highly recommend Dr Griffin!

I am a patient of Dr. Griffin. She's an amazing Doctor who clearly knows what she is doing. For all you cry babies complaining about being rescheduled for being late or not being able to squeeze in an appointment .. here's a suggestion, why don't you go to the 300 other doctors on the west side that would love to make you wait over an hour for your appointment because of the 30 other people before you that were running late!

Stay far far away from Dr Griffin. When I was 8 months pregnant with a horrible pregnancy rash that required me to see the doctor right away, her staff refused to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment. The staff was rude and unhelpful.

Stay away from this office! I had a horrible reaction to medicine given to me by the doctor. I could not get a follow up appointment despite calling many times. The staff was extremely rude. I could go on for many paragraphs about my experience but I will spare you, just stay away! The doctor is average but her staff is so horrible to deal with it is not worth your time or money.

(i was on time for all my appointments and had no issue with that policy. I can attest to the fact that the office staff - Shannon in my case - is shockingly rude and unprofessional, She went as far as to "unschedule" an emergency appointment I needed when she didn't like that I asked for her name)

Horrible Staff. Bad reaction to medicine subscribed by the doctor, tried to get an appointment. Could not get an appointment the day. After four days of waiting, major attitude from the secretary. I would stay away from the place!

I've moved out of state and I miss Dr. Griffin so much. If you are looking for a compassionate dermatologist who will give you practical and solid advice, you will love Dr. Griffin. Today, so many dermatologists are concerned solely with cosmetic services, but Dr. Griffin is incredible at both. She treated my difficult cystic acne with a simple, effective, affordable regime, and was also skilled at treating some of my more cosmetic concerns. She was incredibly kind, helpful and non-judgmental to a number of concerns, no matter how personal. She is a fabulous dermatologist.

Well you may or may not have already read the reviews online about myself, that horrible Office Manager. I must say that it's very unfortunate that some people have no concept of running on time but they sure have plenty of time to go online & write reviews. Since when do people like to wait in a doctors office? I run a very efficient office and I am very specific on timing so that we may accommodate 40+ patients per day. I don't make the rules in the office, I just obey them & when I say" I'm just doing my job", that's what I'm doing.I understand that there is traffic in Los Angeles & some places you go there may be trouble parking, this is nothing new. If I run the office late for you, I will run every other patient late for that day. I really am sorry to the people that don't appreciate a punctual/ efficient office. I guess out of over 7500 patients there has to be a few that you can't please. Dr. Giffin is a fabulous doctor that runs a fabulous office. Actually I'm pretty nice & accomodating as well, just please be on time and everyone is happy and on with their day!! : )

I have been a patient of Dr. Griffin's for over five years now and I highly reccomend her to everyone. (My boyfriend is now a patient, as well.) She is great at what she does and has now caught three of my moles which probably would have turned to skin cancer had they not been detected. She is very kind and gentle. The appointments in her office are quick and to the point. I think my longest appointment has been just over fifteen minutes and that was to have a mole removed and sutures placed! She always runs on time- which is why, if you're late, you don't get seen! I seriously don't know what these bad reviews are about. I can't imagine Dr. Griffin treating anyone with less than the highest standard of care.

THE WORST STAFF I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! I would advise all who are considering to stay away. Rude and extremely unprofessional. Dr. Griffen seemed knowledable, and was nice enough...but there are plenty of dermatologists in this city, no need to deal with a bad-mannered front office.

If I could give a zero star review of Dr. Griffin and her staff I would. My experience with her office has been a never ending horror story.

I got a terrible staph infection after receiving a minor procedure from Dr. Griffin, and still have scarring from it nearly a year later. Moreover, I lost a week of work, because I was so contagious.

As my scabs began to ooze, peel, and multiply, I thought it might be a good idea to pay a return visit, and see if this was a normal recovery. While waiting for Dr. Griffin to inspect her handiwork, I endured the scathing comments of her extremely unpleasant receptionist. The receptionist kept me waiting for two hours before alerting the Dr. of my presence, while giving me her own opinion that my skin looked fine, and that I should leave.

I am so thankful that I did not listen to her. I caught my infection before it could enter my bloodstream. Dr. Griffin's charge for my second visit? $300 after insurance.

Finding the secondary charge unfair, I spoke with Dr. Griffin's billing woman. She is possibly the most uncouth member of the human species to ever secure a job in customer satisfaction. My call to her ended with her calling me "childish" and hanging up on me.

Dr. Griffin came so highly recommended, but my experience with her office was so disappointing. There are so many better dermatologists in Los Angeles, that no one should put themselves through the agony of dealing with this practice.

I am dying of laughter right now!! While surfing the web to find Dr. Molly's address, I found this review website on a google search, so I scrolled down to read the entries. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Not only is Dr. Griffin AMAZING!!!...but so is her office staff. I absolutely adore the office manager!! It will remain a mystery to me as to why some of the entries below describe their experience in the office as less than favorable!! I have been a patient of Dr. Griffin for the last 9 years. Her staff is the BEST and so is Molly!!!! I don't know what I would do without them!!

I thought Dr. Molly Griffin and her Office Manager Shannon were both wonderful, and helpful. Shannon is extremely friendly and professional. She always greets you with a friendly and cheerful smile.
It is awesome to have a doctor that actually is on time and you don't have to wait for more then 5 minutes. They acknowledge that your time is very valuable as well and so they go out of there way to accommodate you!
I highly recommend Dr Griffin she is very knowledgeable, I never have felt I was being rushed in that office! Cheers to her and her awesome staff!

Dr. Griffin is a five star physician and so is her staff.

I have been a patient of Dr. Griffin's for years and have have always been greeted with a smile and a "can do" attitude in terms of scheduling appointments. Dr. Griffin runs a really punctual "railroad" out of courtesy to her patients, so don't be more than 10 minutes late. If 3 patients are 15 minutes late everyone will be waiting 45 minutes as a result.
This is a great dermatologist with a really cool staff. As I said a the start, first rate, 5 stars.

Great doctor and great staff. I am stunned by the bad reviews. Dr. Griffin is the best, and her staff bent over backwards for me.

They were helpful answering questions about billing, dealing with my insurance when my policy changed, and quick about refilling prescriptions.

I have to say that the complaints from people who missed their appointments sound a little silly. Yes, they keep a schedule, so if you don't show up on schedule, expect things to be a little inconvenient for you (not the rest of her patients who showed up on time). I never felt like I was rushed, but they always get me in and out on my lunch break, which is a real luxury.

I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dr. Griffin is very knowledgeable and also very professional. She keeps her appointments running on time so you don't have to wait so long in the waiting room. My only complaint is that sometimes you feel she is trying to "wrap things up" and rush you.

While I liked Dr. Griffin, I have seriously considered switching dermatologists because of the rude and unreasonable office manager/receptionist. After several incidents, I dread going to that office.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Griffin and waited for 2 months to see her. I was told when making my appointment that her office runs "on time". I was not told that this means if you are 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled. The receptionist would not allow me to wait to see the Doctor and was so rude, that I left the office in tears thinking I would have to wait another 2 months to see someone. What a terrible way to treat a patient, no matter what the "office policy" says. And no, I'm not some "typical entitled Angelino", not that they deserve any lesser quality medical treatment than the "unentitled" do.

I have to agree that although I liked Dr. Griffin a lot, I was completely turned off by the rude attitude of her receptionist. After reading these reviews, apparently I'm not the only one. My husband and I have stopped going to her office because of the unpleasant way we were treated.

Dr. Griffin does indeed some knowledgable, very professional, and an effective communicator. I've been an excema sufferer for years, and simply needed a prescription for a medication I was already familiar with. She respected that I knew what I needed and wrote the prescription without hassle. She was also very accommodating in taking the time to address two other separate skin issues. Many doctors annoyingly insist on making separate appointments for each issue no matter how minor, so I greatly appreciate Dr. Griffin's willingness to address as many issues and questions as I had.
The thing that keeps me from giving a 5-star rating are that I did feel slightly rushed, though perhaps it may simply be her personality/demeanor than a doctor lacking concern (and asking her to address 3 issues). The lady at the front desk is also a little cold, though professional enough. Sweet assistant.
A perhaps irrelevant note-almost all the staff, including the doctor have a weird extra botoxed look giving the place a kind of Stepford Wives feel. As a new patient there is also a questionnaire that focuses on cosmetic dermatology (botox, plastic surgery, etc.). A little weird for me being new to LA, but the doctor fulfills my needs so I'll stick with it for now.

Like the other reviewers, I found the office manager at this place to be one of the most rude people I've come across in a medical facility. Totally unprofessional and a bad attitude. I got so fed up with her that I told her that I thought she was rude. Her response was, "Just doing my job." Oh really? If your job is to lose patients for Dr. Griffin, then pat yourself on the back. I've found a new doctor.

As far as Dr. Griffin goes, I found her to be knowledgeable, but the appointment felt rushed.

Just so happened to read up on my Dermatologist??s office and saw negative comments that surprised the heck out of me! I think maybe the people who wrote these may have mistakenly blogged about the wrong Dr.??s office??? I've been a patient of Dr. Griffin??s for over 2 years and have found this office EXTREMELY wonderful. I trust only the finest and most knowledgeable Dr.??s with my health. Dr. Griffin is ALWAYS sincerely interested in my well being. I have never had a reason to complain about Dr. Griffin or her staff. My current health care plan will soon be out of network and I will still continue to only see Dr. Griffin for my general dermatology and cosmetic needs. Dr. Griffin??s staff is great! The Office Manager Shannon is very professional and personable. She??s prompt, helpful and does it all with a great attitude. I would recommend Dr. Griffin??s office 200%!!!

Dr. Griffin is the best. I've seen her for eczema that no doctors could help. She fixed it. I've also seen her for a staph infection. A friend of a friend had terrible acne, went to other dermatologists with no luck. Griffin fixed it.

This is not the typical doctor's office where you just waltz in, thinking that they'll be late. At most doctor's offices, I go in late for my appoint, to cut into the delay that most offices have. Not here, though.

Her office runs on time. I have never waited longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room.

Getting an appointment is hard. I have been told before to schedule my appointment a month in advance. But, well, she's the best. Thus, there is a huge demand on her time.

Her office manager is cool. Today I just had an emergency (staph infection). I walked into the office to beg for an appointment. She could tell I needed treatment and squeezed me in for the next day.

I think people complaining about her are your typical entitled Angelinos. I'm always super polite, and in the 8 times I've been to the office over the past 3 years, I've never had bad service.

I had to wait two months for an appointment and then when the day came, my car wouldn't start. I called the office a half hour before my appointment and explained my problem and told them my husband would be bringing me his car so I wouldn't miss this appointment I'd been waiting so long for. I told Shannen, the office manager, that I would be 5 - 10 min late. When I arrived at the office 14 min late she said they would have to reschedule me because I was too late. "Office policy" she replied. I asked her why she didn't mention this to me on the phone when I called and had my husband yanked out of a meeting to bring me a car. I don't even want to talk about how rude she was to me after that. I never got to see the doctor. But beware this "office manager" is exceedingly rude.

The service of this physician was fine, though ultimately she was not able to shed any new light on an existing skin condition.

Surprise office visit cost of $160 (insurance covered $26) plus rude office staff have prompted this comment to warn other perspective patients about my experience.

I cannot recommend this practice and will now be seeking help elsewhere.

I am an existing patient of Dr. Griffin and have respect for her abilities as a dermatoligist.
However, I am currently experiencing a very serious problem and called to schedule an appt. The receptionist informed me that there were no openings.
I then explained how serious my problem was and that I needed to see someone asap. I requested if I could at least leave a message for Dr. Griffin to ask her for advice on where I might turn for this particular problem.
The receptionist was condesending and could not care less (as I was near tears). She very rudely stated she would take my number and get back to me.
To this day (a week later), I have not even received a call back.

I am now in dire need of help...my problem has worsened and to be treated with such a lack of respect and concern at a time of need is extremely upsetting.
I am left not knowing where to turn or what to do at this point.
I am writing this in hope that no one else experiences this kind of situation.

I have been a rosacea sufferer for years and every doctor I went to in the past either didn't know what to do with me, prescribed an old school topical medication that didn't do anything or immediately wanted to laser me. Dr. Griffin took the time to put in place a comprehensive treatment that focused on medically trying to alleviate my symptoms first . After months of seeing terrific results it was then my decision to undergo laser treatments to help with any residual redness. Her emphasis on trying to get a handle on the disease before stepping up to expensive laser treatments was refreshing and has resulted in my skin looking better than it has in years. I highly recommend choosing Dr. Griffin as your dermatologist.

Great doctor. She cleared up a rash I had for months after only one visit. She's very nice and her staff is too. They are all very down-to-earth which is so refreshing.

Our immediate family of 5 have all been drawn to Dr. Griffin as a great Dermatologist.

We are 3 women ranging in age from '50s to late and early 20's and 2 men in early '60s and late 20's.

We have tried MANY other Dermatologists but NONE come close to the competence, compassion and caring of Dr. Molly E. Griffin.

In less than 5 minutes you are convinced not only does she know her "stuff", but she is able to be delicate in her approach to answering your EVERY question regarding your skin and those things that may be related to its condition.

Most Physicians would work a lifetime to even approach 25% of her personal one on one "doctoring" skills. Marcus Welby, MD certainly would have had competition in the real arena. She was at 100% from the beginning.

Dr. Griffins caring and incisive look at what "ails" you AND your skin is nothing short of a miracle.

A five star award for sure. A genuine, intelligent, capable and capable Doctor without question.
