This physician is a very good primary care person. He is not the person to go see for a quick one issue (Presumably) event. Go to an ER or to a Patient First for a single concern, not needing any regular follow-up. He is thorough because of a systems approach. CBC tests and other tests give a better base-line on a patient's health over 30 or more days. The patient who claimed he had a sinus infection should have gone to Patient First or just to see a pharmacist if he was as knowledgeable as he thought. Why did he bother Dr. Karp or any other medical professional for that matter? If one is so smart and can self medicate, then go to the pharmacy an d self-midicate over the counter. Be consistent though and sue yourself for ignorance if your guess did not cure you ! Good luck with that..

Be very careful if you visit this doctor! I went to him with a sinus infection, and he insisted on doing tons of tests- full lab work-up, EKG, and several chest x-rays. I was otherwise healthy, and just needed some antibiotics, but he ran up a bill of over $900. My insurance co. said that all these tests were exorbitant, and only covered $280. When I questioned his office about the $900 bill for 1 visit for a simple sinus infection, they threatened to legal action if I did not pay promptly. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! IT WILL COST YOU!
