In a nutshell, these guys put on a great show with their office location and cheerlearder style techs, but this guy doesn't have anything close to compassion or concer for his patients. I waited in the lobby for 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours AFTER my scheduled appointment time - every time I went there. I got there late for my last appointment, and I was told that I would have to reschedule if he was running behind or be placed at the end of the line. Another of his patients was sitting next to me; she was waiting an hour past her appt, and was told 4 people were ahead of her. I arrived at 3:00, and I walked out at 4:45. When I complained to the staff, they acted like they could care less. Oh, and they charge you by hour for parking in their parking lot. I had 9 x-rays taken for a fracture I later found out wouldn't be visiable on an x-ray (only MRI), and my injury was played-up MORE than what was actually wrong. I was told by Dr. Steffen that if I didn't wear the brace as instructed (with the metal rods), I could displace the bone and possibly need plates and screws. I found a new doctor, Christopher Phelps, and he was AWESOME. He explained that the discoloration was not from internal bleeding; it was due to the blood from the artery not being able to return up through the vein because of swelling. He looked at my MRI and all the new x-rays and said it was a "baby fracture"; it was visible on the MRI but wouldn't really show up on an x-ray because of the location of the fracture. He said there wasn't anything I could do (put weight on it, etc) that would cause it to displace and need surgery. Dr. Steffen didn't spend more than 5 mins in the office with me, and he made me feel stupid for asking rational questions. Dr. Phelps answered all of my questions in detail so I understoond what happened, what was currently happening, and what I could expect with my leg.

In closing, forewarned if forearmed. Don't expect much from Dr. Steffen just because the office he is affiliated with has doctors that treat the Spurs players.
