He was treating my son for acne. He stressed to him how important is was for him to stay on him medicine without missing a dose. Thing is... EVERY SINGLE MONTH I HAVE TO CALL SEVERAL TIMES TO GET A REFILL. THIS LAST TIME IT TOOK 2 WEEKS FOR A REPLY AND THE REPLY WAS "We need to see him before we renew his prescription"... REALLY? It TOOK 2 WEEKS TO FIGURE THAT OUT? I am not sure if he is this incompetent or his office staff is simply not forwarding information to him? Don't know, Don't care... He is not a responsive doctor. Maybe small practices just don't have the man power to give good patient care anymore.
It is rare to find a dr. who spends the time not only to carefully listen to you, but also to explain things and make sure that you understand so that you can truly take good care of yourself. Because he is very sharp and perceptive, he always gives me a sense of trust and safety. I have referred my entire family and friends to Dr. To and he has taken good care of everyone. It also helps, for those of you who get nervous, that he has a great sense of humor.
Bright, caring physician with nice bedside manners. Dr. Rick To has been treating me for diabetes and asthma since 2006 and I've stayed healthy with his advice and treatments. He definitely keeps me in line but is also funny and easy going. The office is usually pretty busy but the staff are good at accomodating urgent visits.
I've been asked by friends for recommendations for doctors and dentists and thought I would finally put my thoughts online. I was pretty shocked to see the other review of Dr. To. My whole family has been coming to Dr. To and his father for over twenty years and everyone from my grandparents, parents and aunts and uncles have loved coming to their clinic. Both doctors are very personable, knowledgeable, explain things thoroughly and spend the time to get to know their patients as people. I was delivered by Dr. To SR. and now see both him and Dr. To JR for my medical care. I think the clinic offers excellent care for the whole family and the staff is friendly too.
Avoid at all costs. I went to Dr To after relocating to the San Jose area. I have Hashimoto's and was concerned that my Synthroid levels were off. I was tired and had a cloudy mind. He spoke with me for 5 mins, refused to listen to my concerns to the point of making me cry, and then wrote me a prescription for Lexapro- because he thinks depression must be the problem. Nevermind the fact that Hypothyroidism causes all of my symptoms! He was absolutely terrible!
