After one appointment that took 3 1/2 hours where I was moved from one chair after another to watch and listen to Dr. Ruper attend to patient after patient a decision was made between him and his assistant that I come back for another appointment for a procedure to reduce the astigmatism in my left eye to improve acuity of vision and reduce the extreme halos I see both night and day. It was supposed to be quick (only 15 minutes) and painless.
At the second appointment, I was left to wait for 2 hours in one chair after another once again. Finally, I was taken into the surgery room. Various drops were put in my eyes. Tape held my eye open and 'to keep my eyelashes out of the way.' I was told to stay still and look up...and could see a hand with a tool hovering over me and then my cornea was cut in numerous places. I was extremely distressed to put it mildly. The eye is to heal and reshape correctly.

NO explanation of the procedure but had to cross question the assistant when I arrived just to find the name of it. NOTHING to soothe me. The anesthesia drops wore off in minutes! NO warning my eye would feel like it had cut glass in it for way over 24 hours!!! NO pain killer applied or prescribed! NO patch. NO cover, NO sunshades for my drive home. There are flare ups of the cut glass feeling and a burning sensation almost constantly and it's almost a week now. I am so miserable.
And for what!?! There is no improvement at all!
5 years ago this doctor did cataract surgery on me and put Restor lenses in my eyes. They were wrong from the get-go both in prescription and type of lens. I returned numerous times to complain about the halos and poor vision and was told I was 'too fussy.'
Three other eye doctors were all reluctant about getting these damned lenses out of my eyes and replacing them with something that would work. I resigned myself to the poor sight I would have forever.
The only reason I went back to this guy was on the recommendation that I have the health of my eyes checked as my family has very poor eye health. What a mistake.
The pleasant facilities and sophisticated equipment are no match for the hours of waiting, the attitude, and inhumane treatment.

When I first arrived, I was ignored, while the doctor introduced himself to an intern.
Then when I was acknowledged, the receptionist made me cry. The person who had scheduled me promised they accepted my insurance and that it wouldn't be a problem to look it up. The one who made me cry said they would just bill me since I did not have all the information they wanted.
Then some man from Barcelona who never introduced himself asked me a whole long list of questions. Then repeatedly placed painful drops in my eyes without much concern for the additional headaches or the fact that it made me dizzy and even more light-sensitive. He conducted a whole series of tests that worsened my condition. Then Doctor Ruper finally saw me. He never addressed me by name nor told me, his legally-blind patient what he was going to do. He just told me to be a "good patient" as he forced my eyes open, applied pressure and pain and unceasingly shined light into my watering eyes that needed a break from light and pressure. He had someone come in and force my delicate lip tissue into a metal chin hold.
Dr. Ruper had no concern for my comfort.
He didn't care about the increased pain caused by the exceesive lighting and pressure.
He couldn't even give me 30 seconds to recover.
WORST OF ALL he never even read all that info that Barcelona guy wrote down - critical information about headaches and surgery!

Dr. Ruper said nothing was wrong. But his office tried to require me to come in for a follow-up visit so that they could charge me with another bill for another visit. They offered to setup an appointment so that I could get my prescription updated, but required me to stumble alone across the parking lot to talk to Ed. I talked to Ed and explained exactly what my insurance covers and he said he couldn't answer my questions because I didn't have that information in writing. Which probably means they just want to get me in there and bill me whatever they want later.

In the end Barcelona guy supposedly gave me drops to relieve the excessive dilation drops. But they never worked. I drove home 2 hours later, still blurry and light-sensitive.

It was a terrible day. I will never go back.
