The bad news was I had testicular cancer. The good news was I caught it very early and was referred to Dr. Spitz. He is a good communicator, attentive and personable. After a brief exam he had me go to radiology lab for an ultrasound.

Within minutes of leaving that he was on the phone with me instructing me to get a blood test right away. And to reschedule my dday the following Monday as I was going to have surgery.

Yeah, I was a bit taken aback. After hanging up a dozen questions came to mind. So I called his office but he was not in. I left a message for him. Within five minutes he called me from his cell phone, answered my questions, put my concerns to rest.

Others that I've spoken to since then and that know him both as an associate and peer agree that he is awesome.

The only ding is for the office staff who are not all that friendly.

My husband and I recently went to Dr. Spitz because we are having problems conceiving a child. He seemed competent enough, and ordered a number of tests, and set an appointment a month away to go over them together. I don't get time off of work often, but I ended up getting the afternoon off so I could be there, but then just hours before the appointment, he cancelled and had to reschedule. Of course the next appointment was two weeks away and I couldn't be there. Also, right after calling to cancel us, his billing department called and demanded money because they hadn't billed our insurance. I also had to deal with a very curt nurse to get a copy of the results.

At this point, we still don't understand what the results mean, and Dr. Spitz is out of the office for the rest of the week. We are already looking at a minimum of $300 out of pocket, and still no answers. He might be a good doctor, but considering he deals with infertility, you would think his staff would be a little more sympathetic. I would not recommend, except in the case he is your only option, like us.
