Our pediatrician is Dr. Nada, who is extremely friendly and nice. However, I do not like being lied to, and she did just that. I chose to have my daughter get the MMR shots individually. When we interviewed Dr. Nada she said they usually keep a small supply on hand. Well, when it came time for my daughter to get the Measles shot, I spoke to 2 nurses who said they do not carry the individual shots, and one of the nurses said that in the 5 years she's worked there, they have NEVER carried it. So I brought it up to Dr. Nada at my daughter's checkup. She said they used to carry it, but the manufacturer doesn't make them anymore. That was two lies in one, but I let it go. Then she forgot to give my daughter the 1 year blood baseline test. When I called to ask about it, the nurses tried to pin it on me, saying I probably forgot to take the slip because it was small, and Dr. Nada usually puts it on the counter. Or maybe the appointment was hectic and it got lost in the shuffle. NO WAY. It was never brought up in the appointment at all, and the appointment was smooth as silk. The only reason I knew about the blood test was because I happened to go home and browse through the PHA handbook after the appointment. So if I hadn't been reading it, my daughter would have missed the blood test. And obviously if they give it to everyone, it must be pretty important.

Our neighbors' daughter is 1 month older than my daughter, and they see Dr. Nada too. For them, Dr. Nada has missed immunizations, given wrong doses for medications, and forgotten ultrasounds too.

If you want to have to monitor the doctor's visits to make sure they are doing exactly what the are supposed to be doing and aren't missing anything, then go here. If you want thorough checkups with attention to detail, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I am in the midst of switching doctors now.

PROS: Friendly doctor
CONS: Very sloppy patient care

Finding a doctor can be a long-drawn out process when you're new to the area and very selective in doctors. Before choosing PHA, I visited their website to get an idea about their practice. I was pleased to learn that they also listed each physician's profile. So I've called PHA and explained to one of the office staff that my son is a 'special needs' child. I wanted to get that point across so that they are aware of his condition and diagnosis before referring one of their doctors to care for my son. At this point, they had recommended Dr. Dayan who was a new doctor onboard at the time. So I agreed to schedule the appointment. On our first visit with Dr. Dayan, I was very pleased to have met such a very amiable, respectful and caring doctor. He ascertains a very thorough visit in meeting my son's medical needs as well as answering any questions in complete responses. Thereafter, with follow-ups, he'd always greet us with a smile and provide the same care and thoroughness as the first visit. Once again, making sure my son's medical needs are met and my questions are answered. Dr. Dayan is a great pediatrician. I highly recommend him.

PROS: typically do not have to wait very long in the waiting room
CONS: none

I'd definitely recommend Dr. Lenard as a great guy who cares about his patients. I'd say that he is good with boys. He takes his time with each and every one of them so if you are in a hurry, you may want to reconsider this choice.

PROS: Can usually get an appointment

Dr. Gallo is cheerful, funny & puts my twin 8 year old boys at ease. Dr. Hobby was their original doctor but we moved from Fairfield into the Valley.

Don't particularly care for Dr. Carroll. He's arrogant and my boys did not feel comfortable with him at all.

Convenient hours. I've NEVER had to wait for an appointment.

PROS: Good Hours. Clean & Cheerful Offices.
CONS: Some staff can be edgy at times.

Dr. Judy Hockstadt has been our pediatrician for 20 years. She is fantastic. She really listens to both the parent and the child...no matter how busy she is, how late she is running or how many people are sitting in the waiting room. She is sensitive to the child's needs as well as the mother's and is just a really good pediatrician. I cannot say enough about her. I would strongly recommend her.

PROS: Truly caring and listens to what you say.
CONS: Office staff can be a bit rude at times.
