Every counselor should be like Michelle, especially when working with teenagers!! When there was some speculation about my 15 year old son having ADHD, trust me when I say I did my homework. As a parent, I wanted what was best for my son. I decided to work with Michelle after contacting many other counselors, who either didn't return my call or rushed me off the phone or had a waiting list 3 months long. I was also fortunate enough to know a parent who meets with Michelle for guidance in dealing with her 3 behavioral kids. She had nothing but great things to say about her! When searching online, all of her reviews were great, but it wasn't until I spoke with Michelle directly that I knew I found someone who was dedicated and passionate about helping people. As I started to share some of the difficulties he was having at home and school, she seemed to really "get my kid". I couldn??t believe it. Before she even knew if I was going to book an appointment, she spent 45 minutes listening to my concerns, answering my questions and trying to provide some support to me. Wow! Big Impression! Michelle has been seeing my son for 5 months now and there is a noticeable difference in both his mood and how he behaves. He has gone from being angry, depressed and irritable, to someone who is able to have a conversation without screaming. He is better able to accept responsibility for his behavior, as well as consequences. He wants to be more social and is more driven than ever. I cannot thank her enough for helping my son be the wonderful kid I knew he could be. Chris N.

We can't say enough about this counselor. When the time came to get my daughter some help, my wife and I did a lot of research. Not only about ADHD and depression, but we researched therapists, counselors in the area, who "specialized" in these areas. We actually found Michelle through a friend and are so glad we did. She is very knowledgeable about ADHD and has a way of getting through to kids, especially teens! We feel she is very dedicated to her clients and has always been there in crisis situations (and there have been a few!). Another good thing about Michelle is she is very accommodating and flexible with appointments. This is crucial when you have 3 kids involved in sports and extra curricular activites! If you have a teenager, who needs help - Michelle is great!

More about About You Counseling & Coaching

My name is Michelle Rampone and I am a licensed clinical social worker in both Massachusetts and Florida. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 1997 and earned a Masters in Social Work with a focus in clinical social work from Columbia University. For more than 14 years, I have worked for well-known and respected agencies in the Boston Metro West area until moving to Amelia Island in April of 2013. About You Counseling & Coaching, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD throughout the lifespan and school age children with behavioral and/or mood disorders such as ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression and Anxiety. It is a special place to seek counseling, life coaching, parental guidance, skill building groups and other valuable resources. Here, they have somewhere to vent, learn new skills (coping, problem solving, communication, anger management, organization, study, social, etc.) and more importantly, reflect and share their thoughts and feelings in a safe, comfortable environment. Parents will benefit by learning more effective parenting skills and ways to communicate with their children. My experience with and dedication to treating ADHD in kids and adults, as well as other emotional or behavior issues, isn’t just professional; it’s personal: I have ADHD. Untreated until I attended graduate school, I am better able to understand the effect of symptoms from a variety of perspectives and apply that knowledge to the treatment of my clients. My clients feel that because I live it, have struggled with it, understand the thoughts and emotions associated with it, and continue to find new strategies to manage and cope with it, it gives me an advantage in their treatment. I also have an ability to connect and develop an alliance with teens, especially those who are defiant, disrespectful, who feel entitled or are resistant to counseling or coaching. Working with these challenging clients and the families affected by them, is my true passion. My clients have described me as an effective, progressive, hard working, caring, passionate, young at heart, empathetic, accommodating, “think outside the box” kind of therapist.
