I wish I would have also read the responses prior to making this appointment. When my son and I entered the office we were not greeted and looked over. I noticied three indiviudals after me was called to the front to complete paperwork and there was 2 people a head of me. The staff called all 5 of these individuals before calling me to complete paperwork or my son to have x-rays. So after the X-rays, the dental assistant tried to remove the space retainer. She was unable to remove the retained and stated that the dentist will have to numb his mouth to remove the object. The dentist came IN AND YELLED AT MY SON SAYING THAT IT DOES NOT HURT AND TO SHUT UP. I ASKED HIM NUMEROUS OF TIMES TO NOT YELL AT MY SON. HE ADVISED ME TO SHUT UP AND THAT IT DID NOT HURT. I EXPLAINED TO HIM HOW WOULD HE KNOW IF IT HURTS. I TOOK MY SON OUT OF HIS OFFICE. THIS DENTIST DOES NOT HAVE COMPASSIONATE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE EVERY JUST AS THE OTHERS RECOMMEND.............. DONT DO IT

I only wish I had taken the time to read the comments before
I changed my insurance to one that uses Smilecare because every negative comment was incredibly true in my case, too.
The positive comments must have been written by someone with a vested interest in the disgusting operation.
Do Not trust your health and well-being to these people.

Dr. Hastings' office was one of the few that took my insurance plan. The cleanings were great and the hygienist was always top notch, but any time I had to have any work done, it was a nightmare. Dr. Hastings has a bizarre sense of humor, he squirts water in your face, he even pulled my face INTO HIS STOMACH when I mentioned having a hard time breathing. He is not professional in the slightest. I quit going there when during the course of my cleaning, some dental work was knocked loose. I wasn't letting him touch me again so I went to another dentist. My new dentist was shocked at the amount of compound Hastings had left between my teeth. I thought this was normal to not be able to floss between teeth. But then, this is the same dentist that left me in such pain for five days that I was unable to eat and lost five pounds. This office is deplorable.

I fully agree with Annette, my first time going there, I walked in and no one was there to greet me, and when she did, she was rude. Don't ask me the dentist's name, he walked in, I didn't even get a hello, he didn't introduce himself, nothing. When they were done, they said they didn't have the fee schedule for my insurance and would call me. Someone by the name of Lori called me two weeks later, and started by telling me that I would have to pay $75 for my cleaning, and when I told her that I get a free cleaning per year, she said I had to do the one they recommended, I told her that I would not pay $75, when I should have it for free, and she laughed and told me that I could take my business somewhere else, and they would not do anything else for me. I am sorry that I didn't allow your office to rip me off Lori, but I do know my benefits and will not be ripped off!!!!! The only comment on here that is positive is clearly from their office, because why would it be anonymous? This office is horrible and they don't care about you or your teeth, they only care about how much money they can rip you off of. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, GO TO ANOTHER DENTIST!

I walked in for appt and nobody was at the desk for at least 10 minutes. I should have walked out then, but I was in pain. After dealing with the condescending attitude of the assistant the doc finally showed up about 45 minutes later. He never said hi, introduced himself--nothing. Then he looked in my mouth, said the tooth needed to be pulled and left...I was still inverted in the chair since it was a top tooth. Then another lady came in and I had to ask what he wanted to do and she said they were referring me to a surgeon. Good thing, because that jerk wasn't going to touch me again.
I won't say it was filthy, but I did notice the light, etc was not covered like good dentists have them.

I would definitely recommend this practice over and over again. I always get a smile and personal greeting while I am signing in for my appointment. I never have to wait long, and if I do, I understand because I have been worked in on an emergency and was very grateful to be seen. Dr. Hastings doesn't beat around the bush, and I know he is very conservative in his recommendations. I have every confidence in him and his staff. I have been going there for years.

I highly do NOT recommend this Smile Care affiliated office. I went only once and only for a specialized treatment. I had difficulty finding the office, as there are other dentist offices in the same complex. I had to wait a good 20 minutes, even though I arrived in time for my appointment. I did not even stay long enough for the doctor to meet me. I was totally discusted with the unsanitary conditions I saw. I became nauseated and had to cancel my appointment and leave. The receptionist became rude with me when I tried ever so nicely ( I even whispered as to not make a scene) why I am cancelling my appointment. She did not apologize and promptly became defensive when I mentioned specific problems in the patient area. I have since heard similar problems with this particular office.

PROS: clean waiting area
CONS: filthy environment, not so friendly staff when dealing with a problem
